Volkswagen launched just one new car in 2020, except it wasn't that new. The T-Roc has been on sale in Europe since 2017.
It only went on sale in South Africa towards the end of last year, and one more derivative was added in January.
The German carmaker said initial interest in the model that slots between the T-Cross and Tiguan were excellent. They reported around 400 pre-orders at the car's local launch in November last year.
I have seen the T-Roc in the flesh at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. It looked great in the metal, and I was keen to have a go in it. Particularly because Volkswagen said the T-Roc was more like its Golf to drive than an SUV.
