Great Vocals by Lou Gram 1970's and 1980's ROCK CLASSICS Every Single one of these JAMS is AMAZING and are part of their Greatest Radio Hits 📻 Highly recommend All. 🎸 🎹
Hey guys great reaction. 2 more songs off first album. "Feels Like The First Time" (their first single and 3rd single off album is "Long Long Way From Home"
In 1981,. I was still 10,11 years old. My father had died the year before and mom was trying to get me out of the depression and insisted that "Tomorrow you must go in to school, and pick an instrument to play, you are joining the band." My moody pret een self stormed to my room and cranked my stereo in defiance. The first song that came on was "URGENT" by Foreigner with one of the hottest saxophone solos in history. The next morning, I chose the saxophone, and became a natural. I went on to play trumpet as well a couple years later, and my senior year, I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan, and, also, the movie "Crossroads"(Ralph Macchio, Joe Seneca, Jami Gertz,.......blue guitar movie) and I now play guitar, bass, and a little keyboards as well. It has been 43 years now, and music is my only religion, my only spirituality, my only sacred belief system. And it rocks!
Another band I think you'll both really enjoy is LoverBoy. Canadian rock group from the 80s as well. Turn me loose, working for the weekend, lovin every minute of it are good places to start
I saw Foreigner in 1978 when they toured Australia such an unbelievable band....i met all the Original Band members including Ed Gagliardi (RIP) who was an amazing Bass Player...so good live on stage.....and Lou Gramm's Vocals...WOW one of the very best Rock Singers ever........
It is a crime that Foreigner wasn't inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame until this year. This band was a staple of the radio in my youth. Turn it up!
Not being inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Shame should be a badge of honor. No rock band should want to be inducted into an organization that thinks a list of "legendary rock musicians" include Tupac Shakur, Dolly Parton, Queen Latifah, Mary J Blige, NWA, Madonna, Michael Jackson, ABBA, Stevie Wonder, Donna Summer and on and on and on... and on and on...
Thanks for listening to this song. Jukebox Hero has always been my favorite from them. Finally inducted into Rock Hall of Fame last month. They've had a great set of musicians over the years, and Lou Gramm offered vocals that at times reminds one of a Robert Plant. They were around for the Arena Rock Era. Songs that ranged from ballads (which almost split the band up with their inclusion). You haven't listened to Waiting For a Girl Like You. Take credit for that one Phil, as Sam will love it. To power songs that could fill the arenas and stadiums. They have a deep catalog. For some reason many of their titles could take place in an emergency room. Hot Blooded, Cold As Ice, Urgent, Head Games, Headknocker.
This song Juke Box Hero charted on Billboard hot 100 on February 13, 1982 and it peaked at number 26 and was there 12th single and they have had a total of 23 singles.
So glad you guys got to this song now you gotta hit up far in his first album. I remember cold as ice was on that at a second but you definitely got a check out long long way from home although any any song from the first album fantastic you could also check out blue moon, blue deck all right that’s it. Take care.
Lou Gramm is one of the most iconic rock voices. Also had a few great solo songs: "Midnight Blue," and "Lost in the Shadows" from the amazing soundtrack to The Lost Boys.
It was a lot of fun watching your reaction to this song. Picture thousands of people singing the chorus with them during a concert!! An experience I will NEVER forget.
"Juke Box Hero" was always a highlight of a Foreigner concert... the huge Rockola being inflated and then exploding at the end of the song...The lihht of thr explosion was blinding. I've seen Foreigner five times.
Never appreciated this song as a kid. Later in life upon hearing this song... Now I think the changes throughout the song give it an element of drive and power!
This was the first concert I paid for in college, Jan. 1982. They had an inflated Juke box on stage that they blew up at the end of the song. Great show, try Hot Blooded.
Foreigners first four albums are absolute rockers with no bad tracks. This tour was the second time I saw them live in 1982, the first was Head Games in 1979. For this song they had a giant jukebox that they inflated during the song and then blew it up at the end of the song with smoke and fireworks. The opening act for the show I saw in 1982 was this young guy that only had two albums out and was working on his third and he played what would be the title track to his third with the song Cuts Like A Knife. Bryan Adams put on a great show.
Foreigner has so many hits! My bass player from high school now plays in a foreigner tribute band, when I saw them it was like two hours nonstop hits!! After the encore they were gonna leave without playing this but the crowd wasn't having it, so they came back and did it! 🤣 I suggest Hot Blooded next..
Great one guys, this is one off my all time favourit albums from Foreigner .My Fav song from this album is * Woman In Black * Love the intro in that song ; ) Have a good one take care an stay safe ; ))
In 1991, I was a junior in high school. I got last-minute tickets to the Whitesnake Slip of the Tongue show with Steve Vai at the Portland Memorial Coliseum. The seats turned out to be amazing. After the show, I was the first out back at the buses, waiting to meet the band. Tommy Aldridge came out briefly, and I got to say hi to him. Steve's guitar tech gave me a Vai guitar pick, and I even got to say hi to Tawny Kitaen. This was all pretty standard back then. The cool part, and what this song reminds me of, is that I was that kid sitting on the curb at the Coliseum, waiting for my mom to come pick me up. I saw the tour bus pull out and head away. Tommy was in the doorwell, talking to the driver. As they drove off, they opened the door, and Tommy gave me a wave goodbye. One of the most awesome moments of my life.
Bad Company was formed a couple years earlier, but the bands had similar sounds. Bad Company was maybe a bit more raw and gritty. More importantly, Bad Company's "Shooting Star" was a song with a story along the same lines. Give it a listen, I think you'll like it
Waiting for a Girl Like You is also a pretty big hit for them. It's a rock ballad, but there's a synthesizer player on that track that nobody had heard of at the time, who would become fairly well known. Thomas Dolby.
Funny, I have Apple Music paused on my other screen, on this same song, with this same album cover showing. Loved this song in 81-82 when I was stationed in Germany.
This was one of the first cassette tapes I ever bought as a kid. Still love this song. Check out the live version where they Segway into some Zeppelin. I believe Ramble On but could be wrong.
This album is noteworthy for Mutt Lange and Mick Jones collaborating on the production. Mutt Lange worked with AC/DC, Def Leppard, The Cars, and Bryan Adams. Phil mentioned the percussion. That was a trademark of Lange.
On a cd I have, They said it was inspired by a concert they did in Cincinnati, Ohio...I didn't get to see them but my friend did and brought me a tshirt which I still have.
If I could only choose one song among the many Foreigner suggestions you've received, (they really were a singles-oriented band), I'd side with "Urgent". The song is HOT in every way possible, including the iconic sax solo by the legendary Jr. Walker.
Hey Guys, you need to do some “TROOPER” a CDN version of Foreigner. (“Raise a Little Hell”, “Boys in the Bright White Sports Car”, “We’re Here For a Good Time”) and you may want to add some “Doug and the Slugs” into the mix (a fantastic pub band back in the 80’s) their song “Too Bad”, “Tomcat Prowl”, “Making It Work”. Just some of my 80’s CDN picks similar to Foreigner. (That Know How to Rock)
Some other worthwhile Foreigner songs to listen to include: * Urgent * Feels Like The First Time * Hot Blooded * Double Vision * Blue Morning, Blue Day * Head Games * Dirty White Boy * Say You Will
Hot blooded, Double Vision and Feels Like The First Time are bangers as well Urgent, a saxophone-driven song from the same album as Juke Box Hero. Pretty much anything off their first two classic albums is fire.
Great reaction! I suggest Feels Like the First Time and Long, Long Way from Home from the debut album, then title track and Blue Morning, Blue Day from Double Vision.
Hey Phil and Sam, interesting fact for you: The album that this song's from, Foreigner 4, has a couple interesting reasons why they'd titled it as such: 1): It's their 4th album 2): It marks the departure of 2 of the original 6 members of the band's lineup

I suggest 'Urgent' next just because I like the Sax solo so much. Cheers.
so good
Oh gawd yess! That sax!

Cold as Ice
Feels like the first time
Star rider
Rev on the red line is the best song out of all those
Why does everyone ignore Feels Like The First Time?
@@dawnmclees They reacted to Cold as Ice
Foreigner was just a hit machine.
Im a teen of the 70s. this band was amazing for all of us!

Go back to the first album with. The Damage Is Done ! Great reaction
Foreigner is phenomenal! So many great hits. Lou Gramm has such a fantastic, unique rock voice.
Juke Box Hero and Hot Blooded were my favorite songs from Foreigner. They have so many huge hits.
Hot Blooded was fun, it was played everywhere all the time, lol.
I might throw Head Games in there too.
@@dedcowbowee Hot Blooded always takes me back to WKRP tv show. Les putting on that hairpiece while the song is playing.
@@Masonicbrother Loved that show!
Took my wife to see them on Oct 9th for her birthday! Played an 11 minute version of this! Great show! Loverboy opened for them!
This is Foreigner at their best. This would come on at dances and the floor went crazy! Total jam! 😀

One of my favorite songs of the decade. So great. Great band. Saw them in the early 90s, and they were still great.
I believe that this was one of the best albums of all time I've enjoyed it ever since its release
My first Vinyl Album, best ever, not one bad song!
Awesome song. I’d suggest Urgent, Feels Like The First Time, Head Games or Double Vision as future choices.
i am 58 and Still dig it . Head Games, blue morning blue day, feels like the first time, starrider, double vision, dirty white boy,.. are Good ones .
Did you have the Head Games album? Rev on the Red Line was my favorite at like 9 yrs old lol
Another great one from them is "Waiting for a Girl Like You"
"Urgent" and "Waiting For a Girl like You" were their other great songs from that album
Such a freaking banger as Phil would say😂 My absolute favorite from them. Urgent is really good too. Great reaction and Peace out guys ☮️ ✌️ 🙏
One of the great Rock bands of the 70's and Lou's voice is amazing!!!

Very anthem oriented band! Another great one from them is "Hot Blooded". 😊 Thanks.
My favorite Foreigner song........kind of quirky but rocking
Many awesome songs from Foreigner!!❤❤❤❤

Foreigner 4 is a great album top to bottom.

One of the greatest voices in Rock 💯
I mean c'mon those notes Lou hits at the end are insane...He is so underrated
Urgent is a must. Yes. Again with more storytelling.
This song Juke Box Hero charted on Billboard hot 100 on February 13, 1982 and it peaked at number 26 and was there 12th single and they have had a total of 23 singles.
I still believe foreigner is in the top 10 maybe top five classic rock bands of all time and nobody wants to admit it. This song rocks.
