I saw Tanya interviewed by Dan Rather. She was so humble and real. And is still very beautiful. A natural beauty. She had a good family and it showed. May God bless her all the rest of her days.
He bashed her after the break up. And tore her down in his auto biography. Tanya never said a negative word about him after the break up. And in her bio book spoke her remembrances w/o dragging him thru the mud. She's class all the way

She wouldn’t let Tanya see him when he was ill, and she just wanted to see him for a few minutes. I don’t see that as a threat! But, his wife wouldn’t let her. I’ve always ( so far) liked Tanya.

YIPEEEE! Happy for you! I've sung many of her songs thru the years. For 40 years I was a little fish in a big pond. Her and I are the same age and only 3 days apart. I think...my fav to sing..."What'll I Do With Me" and "Down to My Last Teardrop". I've come SOOOO close to seeing her in person but something always got in the way.
She has a stand out voice.
She looks so lovingly at him…It’s hard to believe he knocked her teeth out. You just don’t see any of that side in public. It’s amazing how many different faces people have.

People thought her two oldest kids were his. She finally admitted he was not the father. And her third child had a different dad than the first two. They were not good together, they were drinking and doing cocaine and fought like two tomcats. If they had been off booze and cocaine they may have made it. Too bad it was a toxic relationship. He asked her dad if he could marry her and got an affirmative answer. They talked about getting married in Scotland.
They would have had beautiful children who probably could sing.
Tanya and Glen sang wonderful together. Too bad they could not have been like Johnny and June or Waylon and Jessi but it was not to be.

I believe Tanya Tucker grew up fast in the business and was successful. I think Glen Campbell was the love of her life and sometimes things just don’t work out, even with the best of intentions and true love. I wish they could have made it and even if not, I wish they hadn’t been dragged through the mud when times were tough for them. The way she looks at him, you can tell she is in love.

I was 22 in 1980 when this interview was taken. I didn't see it then and I am just seeing now for the first time at age 64 (same as Tanya is now). It was good to see them together and happy. Glen is gone but will never be forgotten; what an amazing genius, talent he was. God bless you both.

I think he was THE best. In hour long interviews with the same person, he would ask the very questions I wanted asked. I was sometimes mesmerized by the back and forth he had with his guests, as the cameras zoomed in on their faces.
joe doe Yeah ! He had that special quality of being a hard hitting newsman in confrontation when called for, yet also down to earth and able to laugh easily, even at himself..I sure miss him.
I grew up in Philadelphia when Tom was a local news anchor. He was always like that..hard hitting but always ready with that iconic laugh that Dan Akryod did so well on SNL.

I've always listened to Glen Campbell my entire life and didn't know I was related to him until my trip to Ireland.... I knew my mother's side of the family was Campbell's from Scotland/ Ireland - I found a Campbell Clan plaque while in Ireland which said Glen Campbell was a relative of mine .. interesting..

Really like Glenn and Tanya ,, both gifted singers , however , I feel for Tanya, she was and still is in love with Glenn . He did a number on that girl at a young age. He seemed to move on with no shame for what he put her through , she is still broken hearted. Thank god she returned to music her second love and may God bless her and Glen for better days ahead ..
Donna Rachiele...we need to keep in mind they were in the grip of substance abuse in the early 80's, both cocaine & booze..That certainly affects people's judgement and behavior.. they both did rehab later

She truly loved him, she loved him as much as he loved himself. She was kind and he was not.
This interview with the two of them together clearly shows that at this time anyway there was a lot of love there; some are in judgment of who felt what decades later they know

I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE GLENN CAMPLE ON A LIVE SHOW. AND HE WAS JUST WONDERFUL, AND GREAT HUMOUR. SAD HE HAS LEFT US, BUT I HAVE BEEN LEFT WITH MEMORIES OF THE BEST EVER. REST IN PEACE MR CAMPBEL. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.

I remember during this period they were on the cover of people magazine. Somebody brought it to the office where I worked and this normally prim and proper little middle-aged lady suddenly said quite angrily, "I think he's just about screwed around till he's screwed himself up!" Really startling but also funny and possibly accurate. Thirty-six years ago.

Glen was much older and wiser than Tanya a nd he really took her for a ride then discarded her without a second thought. He was also heavily into drugs at that time. Maybe he thought she'd spike his career. She, on the other hand, was madly in love with him....forever. She never got over him.

I've always wondered how Glen felt about having such a gifted female partner on stage with him. He was extraordinarily gifted and Tanya could hold her own with him and apart from him. His four wives weren't on stage with him, if I understand correctly. Sharing the spotlight can be difficult for two stars. It is interesting that when you Google Glen, it is Tanya Tucker's name beside his and his wives' names come much later.

TrueGritGirl yes, they were crazy in love. But it would be like putting 2 b u l l s in a pen. he needed arm candy that did all the home things. he was jealous to an absolute fault and also needed someone to do all the daily tasking. she needed to be out there and perform.
I know there are at least two sides to every story. Tanya had her story and Glen had his story. That being said, I think back to this video when Glen expresses how he feels about Tanya. He says there’s a difference between like and love; I like you. And yet Tanya never gave up on that idea that they were great loves of each other. He may have been the love of her life but she was not the love of his life.
It seems the women remained married to until his passing, would be the love of his life. She stuck it out through Alzheimer’s… the documentary “I’ll be me” is one of the most interesting and heartbreaking I’ve ever watched.

Glen said that 1980’s was the worst time of his life due to his foolish use of alcohol and drugs. Thankfully he kicked it, but he left quite a trail in his wake, one being Tanya.
He punched out her two front teeth and was wonderful talent but in depths of addiction.

Didn't know Tanya was his wife, but I saw their daughter and Glen perform together near the end, and the daughter is IDENTICAL to her mother appearing in this video. So refreshing! OOPS, after reading comments, I see they didn't get married. Maybe Kim was the daughter's mother.

He found that. you can't sit Tanya in a corner. But that is what he needed. She needed to go on and shine. love them both

Tanya's story is similar to Tina Turner's in some ways.
What an awful backhanded insult Glenn gave to Tanya when he said there's a difference between like and love... You could see the instant pain in her eyes and then an almost rebellious, "oh yeah" look that she gave him afterwards but you could tell it really really hurt her deeply. What an a******

Later years, when Glen was on Larry King, King mentioned how much in love Glen and Tanya were but Glen said "Well I wouldn't call it love"... In this interview he also says something about liking Tanya but not loving her. She then stares him down after that comment. These two were a co-dependant train wreck fueled on cocaine. Love both of them artistically but they sure do seem like they're acting all nice and giddy a bit in this interview.
People were so REAL and not acting and putting up fronts with 3 inches of makeup and cleavage and whatever else. Just real people.

On the interview with Dan Rather a few years ago, she said Glenn knocked her front teeth out, so I assumed that is when she had to have her teeth repaired.

tanya and glenn drank whiskey that was at least 200 % proof and proved to be to strong for them they would act up go on irish rampage fuss and fight like cats and dogs and had to part there ways to have a little bit of peace those were the days lol

I had no ideas that she was so young. As a kid my mom told she named me after Tanya Tucker because she liked the name Tanya and my last name would be Taylor. I grew up living to sing too. And a lot of my relationships have been tumultuous like hers with Glen Campbell 🤦🏽♀️
I recommend Mr. Snyder's interviews with the late Mr. Harlan Ellison as well. A master interviewer, I suspect much of Mr. Snyder's skills were developed in the interviews with Mr. Ellison.
I wouldn't say that he loved her but I believe he wanted to, so bad. She was a kindred spirit.
There are different layers to loving something or somebody..💗💋..I'm still learning myself.

Here is one for you: their kids just now (Feb 2017) got clearance to visit their Dad during his final days--can you believe you need a legal ruling to be ALLOWED to see your Dad? Seems his wife has the right to block them. I don't know both sides--maybe she thinks seeing them will upset Glenn, but hard to believe that is the case. Who knows? But it sounds just terrible to have to fight to see your Dad. Same deal happened with Barry White, though HIS kids were denied seeing him even as he died.

Jmichael Isbell It's a shame the current family can be so selfish with him. Those children are his biological children that he probably had a relationship with. This is life and death, permanent. They should have all done the right thing. No court should have had to rule for them to put this man first.
Being an Asian-Indian guy, I understand the need of having someone who shares your ethnic background. It makes it easier to flow along intuitively without fear of hurting someone's feelings. But it can also be volatile because of each other's familiarity which can lead to distrust and paranoia. Then add coke and alcohol to the mix.
The age difference was just to much to make a relationship work, even though had simular interests. You can see that Tanya's is just learning about life and what she wants out of it, not Glens ideal of life.
I know people who have been married for years and years with the same age difference

Sometimes it's a crazy relationship fueled by the old cocaine train. They were dancing in the cocaine break, brother. Now he's dead and she's trying a comeback by winning some CMA awards in 2020. Great! Now she and here old buddy Johnny Rodriguez are coming out with a few tunes for late 2020. Look for it!!
