Thanks! I've been playing it a bit recently and have been getting better at it, haha. Unsure if I'll try taking on the speedrun anytime soon, but I'm at least getting more competent at the basics.
I think this question has already been answered but have you tried sliding more times than usual in the first stage at the beginning? Or are the spikes affected by a level timer so that sliding will screw up their pattern? Seeing you makes me want to get into running this game...
Nope, the spike timer isn't affected by your pace approaching it. This was just the most consistent strategy I had for the intro of the game, although I've recently realized since LattMackey started running this that I can fit another slide in before the first raised portion of the ground. Definitely go for it if you're curious! A handful of people have started running Splatterhouse 1 recently!
You need to reach the end of the room at a very particular time in the boss's up/down cycle. As long as he doesn't touch the floor when the scrolling stops, he cannot start his arcing pattern. That, and when you strike him while he's against the wall, he skips around, which is what makes it possible for him to get trapped against the wall.
@@zallard1 I recently started playing the first part on TurboGrafx-16, I went through it and I really liked it. I decided to go through it without dying) I had problems with the bosses; your videos really helped! Especially with 4 boss (I found an alternative way to kill him easier) it was hard for me to slide and I decided to jump hehe I recorded a video and that's what happened! th-cam.com/video/GviLYz9nJcQ/w-d-xo.html
holy shit the dancing on the hall of mirrors part lmao
02:51 And so, with the poltergeist defeated, Rick decides to take the opportunity to brush up on his Can-Can skills.
You are the king of splatterhouse! As ever.
Many thanks! 🤘
Dude I can not beat that 4th stage boss for the life of me
Cool moves
Good shit, man! New records in SH1 and SH2. Now you just need to learn SH3 and find a way to get sub-21:30.

Congratulations with great run! By the way, what requirements for this lucky pattern of stage 4 boss?
