    Outside of Japan, Mizuno is known for being expensive, particularly their "Made in Japan" product line. With that said, these MIJ products also have a reputation for being exceptionally high quality, but the high price tag does limit how many people can afford them. But what if I you could get the same amazing quality and performance for half the price? Well now you can!
    In today's video we take a closer look at the Mizuno Alpha Elite, the "NON-Made in Japan" version of their new "speed" boots, that retail for just $200, rather than the MIJ version at $320! What's the difference you might be wondering? Almost nothing! We compare the two version, go over the tech and discuss why these aren't only one of the best "speed" boots on the market, but also the cheapest! Would you give Mizuno a try at this lower price point?

      @@Feanaro5503 Honestly, I think this might be happening worldwide to different scales.
      Here in Portugal, a country in which football is pretty intrinsic to the culture, most accessible pitches for the common person are AG as well as the pitches for clubs lower than 3rd division. Still, for the past couple of years it has been hard to find AG models for adults that aren't the top end ones. You can easily find AG boots for kids but for adults it's impossible unless you want to spend 300€. You can only find MG for nike and puma (the nike MG is just the FG pattern, it's ridiculous).

      It does sometimes. The best examples of this are the Mercurial Vapor 13 and 14 Elite. I’ve had several pairs in different colorways of both models. I noticed the colorways with a clear polyurethane coating feel more flexible and softer out of the box than a colorway with a solid colored coating. The Spark Positivity Superfly 8 felt firmer and slightly thicker than the Volt yellow Vapor 14s I had, which felt much softer and flexible form brand new. Those Superfly 8s have the same Vaporposite upper, but the solid color polyurethane coating and the extra graphics make the upper feel both stiffer and ever so slightly thicker, when compared to a standard colorway. Same thing with the Flyknit based Vapor 13 the clear coated colorways (the ones were you can see the high tenacity yarns in the upper) were more flexible and easier to break in than the ones with a solid colored coating.

    I was at Kamo in Shinjuku two weeks ago. I tried both these boots and asked questions about the difference. The biggest difference is how it’s made. MIJ stays in a foot last for days instead of hours. There’s also a difference in qc checks. The Vietnam one feels thicker - which felt safer. Something that was super noticeable was in Japan, the MIJs are $170. The Vietnam one is $140. The reason the MIJ is expensive for us is tariffs.

    • @rousseau327
      @rousseau327 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the difference between MIJ and Mizuno Elite models in general. For this boot in particular, the biggest difference is the Elite model doesn't have the karvo insert

      @@rousseau327 didn’t notice the sole plate to be honest. The guy didn’t explain that part. In the store they were $30 difference. That was the weird part to me. I ended up getting NB 442 v2 Japan edition, which so different from my US bought 442v2. Couldn’t pass it up for those mizunos. Would have bought the betas but they didn’t have em.

      @@chpagnepel i went down 0.5 size for the alphas (elite). I also managed to try the alpha prototypes MIJ at Unionsports in Osaka and I was a 7uk.
      I personally own neo 2 (7.5uk) neo beta 2 (7.5uk) and Neo beta 3 (7uk) hence why I am confident to say the new boots require you to go down 0.5 size if you have narrow feet (which I’ve personally tried and it’s true for me).
      This only applies for the Neo, Neo Beta and Alphas. Im not much of a fan of the Morelias as I didn’t try those.

      The thing is it really doesn't make much of a difference. I have both and tbh I feel like the elite is better anywhere other than Japan. However, if you live in Japan, you can get the MIJ for below $200usd which is great if you ask me. That's why Japanese people always choose local brands, cuz to them it's so much cheaper than more mainstream brands in the west.
