Getting Pitzer Mares Ready for Frozen Semen - Behind the Breeding Scenes at Pitzer Ranch
What a fun and extremely informative video. Sarah is so knowledgeable and very nice. They sure have a lot of beautiful horses, I can see why you're so fond of "Pitzer" horses and their whole operation. They've really got an excellent breeding system, and Sarah has it down pat. I love "Dukes N Divas" WOW that 26 year old mare looks fantastic. You can tell Sarah has her favorites 😉. It's absolutely amazing how many mares can be bred using AI. Great video Amry, thank you again. Love and God Bless 💜 you all ✝️. Jennifer in AZ
Awesome video Amry about Breeding the Mares at the Pitzer Ranch. AI and everything very informative. I learned a lot about Breeding by not Breeding Naturally.
That was a really cool behind the scenes video. Sarah definitely knows her stuff. Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see what's next.
For a non horse person , that was very very interesting! Actually kind of fascinating! Can’t believe how forthcoming and open Sarah was!Thank you Army
I’m glad you enjoyed this from a non horse person perspective 😊 the one thing about Pitzer’s is they treat you like family!
Awesome video Amry you were well prepared with all the great questions you asked her. Thank you Sarah you were very informative.
Well done...love and dedication was the theme through out.
Hi again AMRY
That was a fantastic vid with Sarah! A special surprise for sure and one I learned several additional facts to compliment what I do know. Must say she has an incredibly huge job especially talking 400 whew!! Another lovely smart Pitzer gal!
Lol must say I would personally love several TEJ horses running around as he always was a fav of mine as I shared with you. I've always appreciated all the excellent foundation lines.
Oh what another treat for you to be there in spite of the rain.
Probably will fall asleep tonight after thinking about all Sarah shared lol. One of the areas where technology has and is doing something very right.
Thx as always for sharing. Looking forward as always to your next vid.
Hope all is going good with your new colts.
Thank you CC! Glad you enjoyed listening to Sarah as much as I did! Lots of information that’s for sure, I’m thinking we need some more behind the scenes at Pitzer’s - it’s a horse knowledge pool out there!
Hi Amry I love your channel. I hope everything is okay. Keep posting
Thanks for this behind-the-scenes look at Pitzer's breeding program. It's nice to see such great options for ordinary people too. Great horse biology lessons.
That was very interesting, thanks for the take along.
Enjoyed this video..thanks Amry
Thanks for the great video Amry! 😊
That was really interesting.I'm sitting here thinking about all the work, trial and error went into making this part of the ranch streamlined and organized. Takes a special group of people to run that barn for sure! EEEW Science & Math...my worst subjects... won't catch me in there, LOL.
Oh man I bet LOTS of trial and error. The Pitzer crew is pretty awesome to have this process so organized 🙌
That was great information!
Thank you
Love Sarah’s hat 🧢👍🙂
Thank you Amry, it was VERY informative!
Thank You! This help me a great deal. Now to decide what to do with my mares.😊
Maybe a Pitzer breeding in the future 🤔😉
Hello 👋 from Arkansas 😊
Awesome, informative video!
It's so complicated! Interesting video.
Very complicated!! Lots to learn that’s for sure!
For those of you that are into the racing bloodlines, the grey mare I couldn’t remember off the top of my head in the video is by Streakin Sixes and out of Racing Winner 🤗
That’s awesome! Thank you for looking that up, I can’t imagine trying to remember over 400 mares pedigrees!
Informative. ❤
So educational and informative! Nice! 👍👍👍
Amry was wondering what's going on haven't seen anything posted for over a month. Hope everything's okay.
Very informative. Thanks . Great video.
❤❤❤❤ Blessings 😊
Hey Amry. I hope all is well. We have not heard anything for over a month. We miss your videos
👍🏻
sure different then we did in the 60s and 70s. ours were some what harder
I enjoyed this video because I knew nothing about breeding horses. I believed that eventually all horses will be bread IE. 🐴🐴I was curious what the stud fee was.
Pitzer stud fees range from $1,500 - $2,000 … some of the racehorse stud fees can be more than $10,000 😳
@@cnahorses wow!
Hi
The racehorse industry still has to do live cover. Do you think that will eventually go to frozen sperm? It would be terrific if they could do embryo transfer too.
Looks like the jockey club is the one to answer that question.
Interesting! I did not know that… if I ever meet someone in the racehorse industry this will be my first question!
👋🐴🇧🇪❤️🙏
It sure sounds like it is safer for the horses. I've heard some breeding can be dangerous.
I agree, I’ve heard the same thing. Sounds safer for mare and stud - and human!
So interesting = we breed champion show golden retrievers and use frozen semen and fresh shipped in semen all the time for our litters….it’s a different and yet similar process…
Ohhhh interesting!! I did not know that some dogs breed with frozen semen too!
Surprised she’s using that without gloves, good way for her to start her cycling by accidental droplet to the skin.
Valid comment….Im long past my “cycling years”😉 so this doesn't concern me specifically …but if you’re a younger woman in her reproductive years and concerned with your cycle & handling the reproductive hormones, I would definitely recommend wearing gloves or let one of your male technicians handle the lutalyse.☺️
