Ray is a patient and kind farrier, but lets congratulate Hambre on being brave, thinking and being a very good lad. Well done all round.
I love the quiet, gentle way Ray works with the horse. He is a master at his trade.
Ray is a horseman. He understands the brain of the horse and works w the horse. Well done!
Ray is a 60 yr old young man with a gift for horses!
❤ Please like and Share ❤We want to continue to watch this Beautiful Family Grow ❤
Ray did a fantastic job and he doesn’t look 60.
Ray is a good farrier. Hes awesome. And Hombre has done an awesome job for his first time.
Ray is so amazing the way he works with the frightened horses!
Ray's energy must be amazing. So wonderful to see his quiet way of working with a horse.
You can see how Hambre responds so well to Ray!! When Ray lets a hoof go and walks away, Hambre walks toward him! His ears come forward to Ray! This is incredible. Obviously he knows he's in good hands with Ray!! Great work there training a young one!!
Hambre has a good mind he is working it out… … and Ray is just awesome
Ray is 60yrs is fantastic for a farrier!!
Ray does such a fantastic job trimming skidish horses. He is calm and does things slowly like getting them used to the big soft rope❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤ This is so amazing. Ray is patient and kind.
The hoof trimmings are actually very good for their teeth. It keeps their teeth clean.
Yeah, I see no harm in it. Aren't deer antlers essentially made of the same minerals?
Hambre is doing amazing for his first time with a farrier!
Hombre did, really well, considering the environment he came from!
That is one calm sweet colt. He is amazingly well behaved.
I like Ray's patience. I bet he's seen a lot in his years. Good boy, Hambre. Your stallion's babies are lovely, Alan!
Humble and Ray worked very well together!🎉
Wow! Ray is amazing. I can’t believe he’s 60!
I didn’t realize he’s just a yearling😢
Ray is so kind and gentle. And kudos to you for rescuing this precious little guy👏❤️
They’re both doing great. Wow. He sure looks a lot younger
Ray really knows to trim a horse. He's amazing
You are so lucky to have such a ferrier that takes such time to teach a yearling how to get his hooves trimmed
Hombre is fortunate to have Ray as his first ferrier!
Dogs love hooves. All my life anytime we shoe or trim horses the dogs are ready for the trimmings. Anyone who has both horses and dogs knows it’s normal
Wow !
I just learned something I didn’t know .
But I do know this ( my vitamins that I get from the health store has
ground up bone hoofs in them.
Like buffalo 🦬.
Look it up !
So I’m sure it’s ok for the dogs 🐕.
Plus, this man isn’t go to do anything that would harm any of his animals.
He loves 💕 them !
@@trishabaran1521 dogs will fight over the trimmings. They love it
@@bigcat2511
Thanks ,
I’m more knowledgeable on the subject now .
Plus I think it’s kinda sweet that they see it as a treat 🐕🐴
Wow patience all around!! Hambre is looking fabulous!! ❤❤❤
Ray is the very best ... Prepares the nervous and first timers to hoof care for a life of being comfortable with hoof care... And yes my dogs have always eaten hoof traimings
With everything he’s been threw there is the possibility his right front is hurting a bit in that slightly tilted angle. I wouldn’t doubt he will need a chiropractor once he’s gained more. ❤
Ray is so gentle with Hambre and that is so good to see. My cattle dog loves to eat the off cuts from the horses hooves every time they get done. I would guess Ray is 45 yrs old.
What a great horse and how Ray is able to calm the horse down.
Amazing and interesting at the same time…
It is amazing how far he has come along. He trusts you.
My dog stands by and snatches the horses trimmings . Lol. They absolutely LOVE them.
Ombre showed great trust. Ray showed experience with dealing untrained horses & owners. I never saw anyone use a rope around a horses vulnerable ankle area before, but he was gentle. Must be a trick younger farriers didn't learn. Still I think this would've been a smoother experience for both of them, if you had prepped the horse with a series of preliminary training sessions beforehand. It's not hard to do yourself, and eliminates the horse's fear factor which can make some horses go berserk and farriers get hurt. No ropes needed. At least, Ray was careful and gentle. I think he cared. Good man. So glad Ombre got the hooves finally trimmed. Next time he'll have some restored muscle strength that will help him stand quietly on 3 legs longer so he can be filed too. Never despise small starts. It's a good day. 60! No wonder he's so good at it.
Ray is such a wonderful guy with horses. It is great to see!
I’m just happy hombre only suffered for a year, now this life will be a great one, poor little guy .. 🥰
Ray is very good with horses😊
Ambre is doing very well. What strides he has made! As far as the dogs eating the hooves, Dogs like what they like.
Nothing like a navajo farrier...awesome
He will be a beautiful well mannered horse one day. Ray is a blessing. All draft horses have feather legs.😊❤🎉
Enjoyed this video. Ray did a great job with Hombre.😃
Ray is maybe 50. Love the way he works with the horses. Wow look at the experience. 😊😊😊
My dogs love the hoof trimmings 😂. Such excitement when the farrier comes 😂
Hambre was pretty calm with Ray. Very impressed. So glad this young guy is getting a second chance ❤ For first time...pretty good results ...
Excellent job Ray
Please don't let your dogs be close to the horse when the horse is being trimmed. If Ray has to move away from the horse in a hurry, he could trip over your dogs and get hurt. I know how it happens.
I agree maybe later when hombre is more relaxed and comfortable around the dogs and hoof trimming in general ❤❤
I am guessing if Ray wanted the dogs removed, he would have asked...
The frog even helps the horse with traction somewhat
Where does it say dogs can't live near horses or cattle on a farm or ranch 🤔? I've never heard of that before! Has anyone else ever heard of this before 😮😮😮?????
@@pamelavargas6811 WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
Thank you Ray, Silvia, and TJ.
I’m devoted to Hambre and Luna’s story. ❤
Absolutely love watching Ray.
I can’t wait to see how Hombre blossoms into a handsome two year old…when he fills out and gets some muscle on him he’ll be gorgeous. God bless you for saving him 💜💜💜
Wow! Ray is doing really well. Must be the farm life!
Hombre did great, thanks to Ray! I thought Ray was around 45 yrs old!
It is not the farrier's job to educate the horse. It is the owner's job.
That’s your job to tell me I’m not doing my job correctly! 😜
Hambre is such a good boy! Amazing this his 1st trim!
Great job Ray.. Ombré was a real trooper … 👏👏👏
Ray is maybe 47, which is older than he looks. If you say 75, I’m going to be stunned!
🤣 I almost said 60, @sarahupton2552 I was close when I said to myself, he's 50 yrs old and typed it in my first comment.
Ombre tried his best to do good 😊 can't believe Ray is 60😊he don't look half that age❤
Well done Ray! Ombre us being really good too seeing as it's his first time and he came untouched! 😊
We grew up this way and I'm 65! Dogs live and die and ours lived sometimes 15-20 years
You chose the right farrier to work with Hambre, Ray is so patient with him giving him time to learn what is needed from him. Our dogs used to love chewing on horse hoof trimmings too, the farrier would toss them over to the dogs, and after he was done the dogs would go and sniff around for any bits they missed. Our farrier used to say it was good for their teeth. I just noticed Hambre has little feathers on his feet, cute!
He seems to have this attitude of, "Well, this is weird, but so far, everything has been good since I came here."
Ray is a real horseman. This was fun to watch thank you
Well done ombre ,ray was brilliant ❤
Ray has the WAY!
Hamba is being very brave for his first hoof trimming and the farrier he is very good at he's job can't wait for the next video 📸❤❤❤
Ray is an amazing great Man. I thought he was 40.
A horses hoof contains bone and protien that is why your dogs love them.
Love the new little ones at Martin's quarter horses. Thanks for sharing your life and farm with us.
this is a more (or less) very good natural technic to learn how to give up the hoofs..❤❤❤
I enjoyed this video, Ray is amazing to be so kind and gentle with Ombre
It’s very interesting to see how the horses are cared for. There’s definitely a lot of skill involved.
Hambre was better than expected. Good job.
hambre actually went to ray to be close to him, he must have that horse way about him that they are attracted to.
Our dogs also loved the hoof trimmings - we never had a problem with it!
I served a mission in Bolivia 45 years ago and everywhere I went people sold cow hooves in the mercados! People loved them, they would boil them and extract the gelatin to eat. Maybe horse hooves are a source of gelatin that the dogs enjoy? Ray is amazing! Another horse whisperer, like Gilbert! 🤠
I have both dogs and horses 🐎 dogs love the hoof pairing they are 💯 percent protein, it's just non digestible protein, and there good for their teeth gums.they sell cow hooves as dog treats in most store's.
I think that horse could be amazing! Feed him and watch him grow!
Your dogs cause more problems than they should. You should keep Ray safe.
🤔
❤❤❤ he's about 60 years old
Alan your place is looking really nice I like all the changes you've been doing to it and I love how gentle you are with the horses
Good evening Hoss. I do alota shoeing and trimming also. I travel all over the Rez. My name is Toby
I really appreciate the job your farrier is doing
That horse is going to be beautiful when he starts to feel out!! Love his coloring. Ombre did a good job for a first timer
Gorgeous Babies!
Good job guys! He is going to love his feet!!
my husband looks just like RAY.. he is a ancestry nativ costarican 🇨🇷
Good Job, both of you, Hambre and Ray. Was shocked to see some of his scars....
as a child i volunteered at a local riding stables and whenever the farrier was there, the farm dog was straight there to eat up the discarded hoof pieces.
I have had a few issues with the hoof eating. They've gotten stuck across the back of their teeth at the base of the tongue. Also I can't stand to have them crowding around when the farrier is trying to work so my dogs are always in the house at those times. They can eat the little shavings but not the hard outer ring of hoof. Hambre seems to be a patient, trusting guy. Can't wait to see him in the future.
I’ve seen that before watching farriers, where the area dogs love love love to eat the hooves! That’s a good natural treat for dogs, who are predators, though we often forget since wolves have been domesticated to the point where we can no longer recognize their nature in our canine friends.
Ray is a hoof whisperer! ❤️🤎❤️
(I was getting nervous with the dogs so close to Ombre’s rear legs 🫣)
Ray is a horseman. He is calm, uses the best tools to give Hambre a solid foundation and keep himself from being injured. Have used this same technique for years. Dogs can eat the hooves, actually good for them, but after the farrier is done. Particularly when working a new horse. Keep the dogs away, protect your farrier❣️❣️ Good vlog though. 💕🤗 PS It’s rasping not filing🤪
Great video. You teach us how to give great loving care of horses. Thank you for saving them. Ray is wonderful. His gentle approach with Hambre is amazing to watch. 🎉🎉😊
66 does a great job those babies are gorgeous. 💕🐎
A lot of farriers like for owner to hold the horse, to prevent bites
I wish someone had trained my mare like that! Or even if I had known!
I came from NH and for a time lived in NV with my two small toy poodles. A repairman came to the house to do some work and when he returned the next day he brought for my dogs clippings from a Ferrier that morning who trimmed the hoofs of his horse. I was fascinated by the clippings as I had never seen horse clippings before and the dogs loved them. I found out that the hoof clippings will shrink up substantially from when they were first clipped so don't delay to give to your dog If you ever have the chance for your dogs to experience the smells at a farm for dairy cows, donkey, and horses your dog's nose will go into over drive taking in the smells carried in the air from the farm. If you live within a short drive near a farm and in good standing with the farmer, horse rescue management, or know a Ferrier ask if you could have or purchase a few clippings from the horse or donkey. For your dogs, the, horse or donkey clippings are gourmet food and will do no harm.
ambre is really smart ❤❤❤
Ray's got draw. He's a very good at what he does.
Maybe late forties early fifties to mid-50s well I was off not by much. And he's done a great job with him I've seen this done before and Ray is amazing at this. And this little horse is very smart, he picks up on what you want pretty quick. 💕🐎
my guess is Ray is 63. my apologies to Ray, but he his indeed amazing and fit.
Working with horses takes strength. If Ray is a full time farrier, I am sure he gets constant workouts, even with docile horses. Age is just a number. It is lifestyle that matters.
