Not too long ago my Fiji Airways flight to SFO from Nadi, Fiji was delayed by 2 hours. There was an issue with an engine on the plane, however it sounded like the aircraft was still flyable or maybe it had been resolved and the Captain was concerned the issue might arise again so he made the call to switch to another aircraft which thankfully Fiji Airways had at their home base in Nadi. A lot of passengers were disgruntled about the delay but I made sure to thank the Captain when I saw him for that call at the immigration line at SFO because I prefer to arrive at my destination late and alive rather than take off on time and find myself swimming in the middle of the Pacific ocean with jaws.
