Great video Robert, some very interesting places love the waterfalls and mossy woodland. Keep up the good work a nice variation.

Cheers John. There's such a variety in the Peak District, I love it. And so much left to explore too. Appreciate you giving it a watch. 😊

Please give a thought to encouraging excessive use of some of the most beautiful areas of this and other National Parks. Previously people researched these for themselves, now the utube/Instagram free for all is causing erosion, litter, parking problems and for what the same images as everyone else. I suppose you can put your tripod in the holes made by countless others for your trophy snap. Almost every day someone extols the wonders of Padley Gorge. This was once a quiet peaceful area renowned for its bird life not anymore, just ask the NT rangers how many sacks of rubbish they collect each week! I also remember Wyming Brook as a hidden gem that had to be searched for, not the muddy diminished habitat and overused trail it has become. As someone who has lived and worked as a countryside manager in the Peak District his whole adult life seeing the appalling behaviour of many of the visitors is soul destroying.

I'm with you on the litter Steve - it drives me crazy to see a beautiful landscape ruined like that. I don't think gatekeeping is the answer though. I would imagine that the people watching this and other videos about national parks are people who care a lot about these environments, and that it's more likely to be people who don't watch them that are ignorant when it comes to looking after them. Simply trying to keep these places secret isn't going to work unfortunately. And who should decide who can or can't enjoy these places? I also don't think there's anything wrong with capturing an image that has been captured before. One thing I can and will do in future is make a conscious effort to say something in the videos to help encourage people to be respectful of these places. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for your response Robert to a late night rant having seen three Utube videos in a week about Padley Gorge. I was not advocating a gate keeper approach but rather a self discovery approach. There is all the difference in the world between a found location and a promoted one. As to taking the same images - of course this is legitimate, I just question its value as more than a trophy picture. All the honey pots throughout the world suffer from the same mindset. Nor was I suggesting that photographers are the ones who cause the problems. In my experience this is rarely so, although the clown on Kinder with a 5x4 Linhof and Polaroid back scattering the peeled off backing sheets across the landscape springs to mind. Rather the promotion of a place to an interest group does of itself increase awareness which trickles down to those shall we say less caring of the landscape.

A great guide to the Peak District Robert. It is definitely on my photography bucket list to shoot. I just need that camper van so I can tour all these spots 😀

Cheers Andrew - we're currently in the process of converting a van - can't wait to start getting out in it, it's going to make sunrises a lot easier! 😊

Great guide to the Peak District Robert! The only one I've ever been to is Mam Tor, it'll always have a special place in my heart, and one of my favorite photography adventures I've ever had. Definitely would like to visit Lady Bower, Padley Gorge, and Wyming Brook on another visit over. I'm sure it wasn't easy to narrow down this list to the top 6 as there are so many great locations! Great video Robert, really enjoyed the footage and images in this one! Hope you are doing well, have a great week!

Cheers Paul - yeah, I need to go back to Mam Tor - haven't been in a while. It was difficult yeah, initially wanted to do 5, but had to squeeze another one in! Thanks a lot for watching mate - all good here, hope all is good at your end. 😊

I'd actually clicked open a new tab to check where the Longshaw Estate car park was (had not idea it was there as I've always parked by the ice cream van at PG, will park there next time and walk down through the estate as suggested) and heard my name mentioned....always a pleasant surprise, thanks for that :) Wyming Brook is on my must visit list for this year, that bridge shot you have from there is fabulous, and looks an ace place when the flow is good like your clips. All great places to shoot, a very fine selection Robert.

No worries Dave. Yeah, the ice cream van spot is good when it's not busy, but plenty to see in Longshaw too, so worth the extra walk. I'd like to see your shots from Wyming, so hope you manage to get there this year. Thanks for watching buddy. 😊

Great locations Robert and I've not visited any (for photography) would you believe ! Ladybower is famed for its connection with the legendary Dambusters raid during World War Two, which featured specially adapted bouncing bombs tested on the Ladybower and Derwent reservoirs btw. I'd like to visit them all and think Padley Gorge and Wyming Brook look my favourites. Hoping to get out with Dave to the PD and great idea for a video too :) All the best Robert and thanks for sharing.

Cheers Andrew. Yeah, I think they tested the bombs in Howden, Derwent and Ladybower - there are some great walks up round there and some really interesting shots to be had. Looking forward to seeing your video when you make it out there. Thanks a lot for watching. 😊
