      Having a car in the central part of Stockholm is just a nightmare, cost a fortune with the tolls, gas, parking and so on. My girlfriend has a regular bike but she often take the metro/bus. My young son rides with me on my e-bike.
      The problem in Stockholm right now is the weather, ICE! Today I actually crashed cuz it's so God damn slippery. Luckily I did not get hurt that bad 😁 Life....

    I really like your ideas about the photo with ocean background, it looks beautiful and I believe it will be even better on final! I am interested in seeing this setup and processing. ... Sometimes the clients and we do not think the same😁, but ultimately they pay us and we deliver what they like. Great photos indeed involve so much effort and time, communicating/ thinking/ preparing/ shooting/ post editing, and a great attention to detail- I so much wish more of my clients understand this and I've been trying to educate them, not easy 😂especially for some small clients. Good tips on the flash & mirror! Thanks for sharing! You're wonderful.

    Awesome video (as always!) Martin! You're exactly right, clients some time do appreciate the amount of time needed before (collecting props, client meetings, mood boarding, etc) and after (post-production, etc) a shoot! Many times they think a great image takes only a few hours to shoot and edit. Hope you are not over working yourself!! Have fun with your e-bike ;)

    Another great shot. I like how you flagged the light. It's amazing how the little things can shape the light and produce different results. By the way Martin, I was wondering if you sometimes focus stack with a tilt shift lens or with the hassy adapter for maximum depth of field? Take care of yourself !

    • @botvidsson
      @botvidsson  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks man! I just block the lower part of the soft box, very simple and effective. I also do this on my food shots.
      Yes, sometimes I focus stack with the tilt/shift function, the benefit with the tilt/shift is that you don't have to stack so many photos compared with a regular lens. But the result will be the same. It's just a luxury tool to have.

    First of all thank you very much for sharing this knowledge with us and all the background things which accompany creating the final shoot. Please take care of yourself and have a rest, we all love you ❤️.
    QUESTION: How do you calculate the price for a client for a work when you are not sure what exactly you may need for building a scene. ( For example, you rent a diving staff for this shoot) Or you discuss a price after?

    • @botvidsson
      @botvidsson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate! And I love all you guys with your amazing support!
      Renting diving gear is apparently very inexpensive so I just checked approx how much it will cost to rent and ask the client if it's okay to add around €100 on the budget for the props.

    Thank you so much for another great video. I appreciate you discussing how long it takes for each shot. I was feeling like maybe I took too long, and this definitely helped. I'd love to know how you find paying clients as I want to start a similar business in the US.

    • @botvidsson
      @botvidsson  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All jobs always take longer than you think, that's my experience.
      Finding clients, the million dollar question. I'm probably the wrong guy to ask cuz I never advertise of market myself and that's a bad thing I guess. I only get jobs thanks to my portfolio and instagram. 90% I turn down cuz they don't have any reasonable budget.
      I am lucky cuz I have clients in the biotech/medical business. That's very I get my money, but you never see this photos in my portfolio cuz I'm not allowed to show them.
      I believe that you need to have a kick ass portfolio with photos in the genre you want to shoot. The more narrow genre the better. Be the expert in one type of niche/genre. Be the go to guy! That's easier said than done but that's how I would start.
      Thanks!
