    Bui, you are a technical genius and truly appreciate how you two take your time to speak slowly and walk us through the thought process and creating the composition of both of your watch photography. If, down-the-road, Bui you decide to do super indepth videos/episodes where you show us the planning, execution, and end result, we will eat that up! I know Winters wouldn't be involved in those " Learning 101" type videos as mentioned in the first video with Histograms 😭 but only time will tell! • @LydiaAndVu
      @LydiaAndVu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! For that photo I stopped down to f/4.5 and I believe I was at 70mm. I manually focused so I could make sure that it was focused exactly where I wanted it. With autofocus it’s hard to get the dial instead of the hands in focus, so manual focus helps.

    this is great. though I hate the word story when it comes to photos. photos are more lyrical by nature so feeling, idea, emotions or stylistic choices, story is of the epic genre, narative, character development, intrigue, that sort of stuff. epic lends itself better to video imo, though the best movies are lyrical as well.

    Wow...you guys are really doing something great here. Everyone talks about composition, but walking us through your process is really valuable.
    I know Bui mentioned controlling the focal plane with the aperture, but I'm wondering what your take is on the Toneh level (credit cameraconspiracies mocking Tony N) with your shots. How much should be in focus? Do you avoid Toneh f1.0? Or prefer focus stacking? Also..assuming you shoot RAW. I'd love see what you do in post without the Fro-packs!
    Really entertaining stuff!

    • @LydiaAndVu
      @LydiaAndVu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do shoot RAW. These days RAW is easy to deal with, even the default apps on the iPhone can handle most camera’s RAW files, so I don’t even bother with jpegs anymore. If I was shooting a big event or something and had a rapid turnaround that might be different, but as long as I’m shooting only a handful of images of a subject I’m sticking with RAW so I have the most flexibility in post.
      My post workflow is pretty simple, I do it all in Lightroom. I’m not a huge fan of using downloaded presets, because you just end up with someone else’s look on your image. But I am also someone who likes images to have a natural color balance and don’t like to apply too much if a “look” to an image. I do the standard exposure and color corrections, and sometimes add a touch of vignette. That’s about it!
      Thanks again!

    • @LydiaAndVu
      @LydiaAndVu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had the Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 for about ten years and it’s still going strong. At a lower budget there’s the Manfrotto 055XPRO3 and even lower budget there are tripods by Neewer that offer similar functionality. I also have (it’s what I used in this video) a Manfrotto 131DB that’s really nice if you already have a tripod that you like and don’t want to get a whole new tripod. Whatever you end up with, just make sure to also get a sandbag or use something heavy to weigh it down or counterbalance the arm so it doesn’t topple over from the off center weight of the camera.
