I wonder if you are an educator knowledgeable in driving home the salient elements of a subject. However, concerning the photo at hand leads me to question the reason why you left the central (brown) part dark with only very few barely perceptible specks of highlights? To me it makes the flower look very unnatural as if the center is a deep void. .

how to get rid of the reflection on the backside right behind the flower?
If you need to remove items in the background then use a blank slate (just background no subject) and comp in photoshop.
