That was awesome! The whole Finland series was - now I really want to visit that country. Looking forward to your Copenhagen escapade - I visited Denmark for the first time last fall and really fell in love with that city, country and its people.
Huge respect for doing Finland in the winter. Finland, more than any other country, is shaped by its winters, and it is when it's the coldest that you can really experience the country and peer into the depth of its soul. Yes, summers with the midnight Sun are also fun, but you cannot say you really know Finland unless you've seen it in the winter.
That was awesome!!! The swimming and the Northern Lights!! Woohoo! I was thinking as I watched the video that Finland and Sweden should use your videos for their travel promotions! Excellent job!
That was so awesome! Swimming in frozen water and not even feeling it. I have finally caught up with your Finland series. It was spectacular. So happy Finland gave you a memorable parting gift. The northern lights looked so beautiful! Waiting eagerly for upcoming videos♥️
The Pillsbury dough kids, in the red! Haha, got my sleeping bag out for this one. And I'm sorry, but after a plunge in the polar sea, they'd have to give me a bigger cup of coffee. Looked like y'all had fun. I'll remain warm and dry in AZ and watch. Thanks for sharing.😊
You two are my favorite….the more I watch you, the more I see more things I love about your excursions and videos….kona…dancing….always looking at the positive…and all the historical info!
Hello! I've loved your content from your trip to Finland and it's great to see you visit the area I've lived my whole life. I live about 3kms from that Ikea in the border. :D I'm actually writing this before I finished this episode so I just hope you did enjoy your stay here in the gulf of Bothnia.
That was hilarious seeing you two floating in the ice cold water in those orange suits! What a great adventure everywhere you guys go. So much fun! I’m from Wisconsin so it can get cold here but I’m sure it’s even colder there.
Wow what an awesome experience. I'm so happy for you guys and thank you for sharing your experiences with me. What a treat to see the northern lights. Amazing
For years I had to travel to and from Fogo Island as I was responsible for Telecommunications to and from the Island. Many of times the ice would get to thick to get through in the ferry and an Ice breaker would be called to keep the pathways open in the ice for us. I had a friend that was captain on a ice breaker
This has been an amazing series and we are lucky that you guys have shared your experience with us! The ending couldn't have been a better send-off for you two!!! Thank you very much!!
Fun fact. Finnish companies have designed about 80 percent of the world’s icebreakers and about 60 percent of them have been built by Finnish shipyards.
I took a Baltic cruise 2 yrs ago. I remember seeing those ice breaker ships in Helsinki. The noses were so I can't believe you could walk on the ice. I loved Tallin, Estonia btw. We went to Denmark, Poland, Germany, Sweden and Finland. Best cruise ever. Now I want to go to Norway. So glad you saw the Northern Lights. That's on my bucket list.
Wow! I’ve never heard of ice breaker cruises OR swimming in frozen water!!!! What a bucket list experience for you, and the ending…supercalifragalisticexpealidocious!!!!!
@@AdventuresofAplusK I’m headed over to the Appalachians for some fly fishing in a few weeks. It is not the northern lights but it will have to suffice for now. Maybe I’ll catch a big ol trout.
What an amazing experience? I’ve planned so many trips around your travels. I hope there will be an ebook release in the future from your winter travels starting with the Christmas Markets. Thank you so much for all your hardworking and dedication to your channel.
That means a lot to us! I don't think we're planning on an ebook for purchase from this trip, but we are definitely releasing lots of content on our website for Germany and Finland! We will begin working on it soon and hope to have it out before the holidays! Thank you so much! ❤
Hey, Loey! We were in the water for maybe 5-10 seconds the first time then the 2nd and 3rd times maybe a little longer because we were trying to get photos haha It was a very memorable, wonderful, and fulfilling trip!
We do frozen lake rescue training every year and use chainsaws to cut through 18 inches of ice. We all take turns being "victim" & rescue squad. We use those same suits too! We've also seen the Northern Lights twice in 20 years in Western Nebraska.

Totally enjoyed your Finland videos. With the cold temperatures, did you ever have camera or drone issues. I’d be afraid of the mechanisms freezing up or having your lens fog up.
Yes we did actually! The camera screen acted funny when it was really cold, the batteries didn't last as long and the lens fog was a big issue. The lens fog was tough because you come inside from the cold, it fogs, then if you don't wait long enough for the moisture to dissipate on the lens then when you go back outside it freezes! Not good. The only major issue we had was one time when flying the drone my phone died and I had to quickly connect with Kathryn's phone. It was a very stressful few minutes! Good question! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Funny that you enjoyed your swim in the ocean with a drysuit on. You did that same at your off grid cabin with just wearing a swimsuit. Finns would have done that naked 😆 I did enjoy your videos, thank you. You made my country look so nice and it is true, best in the world.

Finnish summer is also kinda magical, "Midsummer Day" sun never sets, everything is calm and being at summer cottage is so awesome and peaceful
We'd love to visit in the summer one day for sure!
You take us where others haven't. The ice breaker tour and "looking-like-lobsters" swim was awesome! We appreciate all your adventures. God bless you.

It’s also too bad you couldn’t release all these videos a couple weeks after they are filmed because that’s what a lot of TH-camrs do I notice
It takes a lot of time to edit them. These were just filmed in January
I know it’s actually better when people take more time to edit their videos versus the other ones that come out quickly
