I agree! We had some in the states back in the 1980s. They were solid well built buses. They were pretty unique and added a lot more variety to buses in the US.
Step 1 is a wash to remove dirt & oil. Step 2 is an acid wash to etch the surface of the mild steel. Step 3 is application of galvanic coating, typically zinc, zinc will sacrifice itself before the steel starts to corrode. Step 4 is a wash to remove excess zinc. A very common process for steel.
