The body was identified as the missing teenager today and authorities said his injuries were consistent with an accidental fall.

why didnt u mention that masca is always quiet and at 2am the night before he was found the mountain goats and dogs were all goin mad because there was disturbance..... and jay was found 6 hours later in a area that had been searched by dogs... mountain rescue... droans.... police... if jay was my son i would not be letting this go

Fine, but alleged criminality links are the elephant in the room that may explain his odd choices, like going 23 miles with a couple of dubious men to a remote location in early hours...then leaving a few hours later and deciding to walk in the opposite direction and go off the main road and venture into extremely hazardous terrain...without a charged phone or even water....when a bus was available! Definately not suspicious.

He over estimated his ability to cross that mountain, definitely his choice of uncaring companions did not help his predicament. Its very sad that a 19yr old young man goes on holiday & loses his life because he really had nobody looking out for him.

I always tell my kids, never to separate from the group. Never take drugs and drink moderately.

Someone should have stayed with him, not left him alone. He had no water, no battery left on his phone. He could have become disoriented and had a fall, but i think theres alot more to this tragedy than whats being reported.

Searches miss people often. That terrain was hard to search.
It is not that hard either especially with highley trained sniffer dogs and the valley being limited by bounds.
It's sad to see and bless the family but it's really idiotic to go out alone in an unknown and rural-ish area while possibly under the influence of both alcohol and drugs. I'm not sure what he was thinking after saying he would walk 30km in those conditions and with his phone dying so quickly it's hard to say it wasn't expected.

Something is Definitely Not Right Here. This Location where his body was found is over a 3 hour walk from that Airbnb (Bar Restaurant Masca TF 436). Driving is only about 30 mins. He passed by all those houses, hotels, restaurants, etc without stopping for a drink, food, directions, or to use a phone? No Way Am I Buying This! This Needs to be Investigated.

I thought this was a high possibility from the start, just upsetting the family have been through this for so long. The terrain is really rocky there and the nights are pitch black with no street lighting and no phone light. May he rest in peace. May his parents and family be left to mourn.

Thanks respect and gratitude to the guardia civil for successfully carrying out the demanding search for Jay's body.
The terrain is mountainous with many ravines and strewn with large boulders and dense thorny undergrowth and the temperatures are high. A very difficult task but there was no let up in the search.

The fact that this young man went the wrong way…after knowing there was a bus available…and that he could have turned around and gone back, but didn’t, is a problem. If there was foul play, it needs to be uncovered.

The culprits were afraid to much could be revealed and could have ended in arrests. So they put him there to look like an accident.

Went off with a known drug dealer to a remote area, more than likely took drugs which would explain why he thought he could walk it, most likely fell to his death due to dehydration, animals probably had a go at his body which is why it took them a while to confirm the identity. It's not really that hard to see.

I still maintain that it doesn't add up. They would have found the body for one thing if he'd died so close to his possessions, I think he's been dumped there. I also don't believe the new "information" his friend was issuing the media throughout the search and the speed at which his other friend immediately set up a crowdfund before making his mum the beneficiary is still suspicious. Maybe we'll never know but hopefully we can put this to rest - but there's the matter of the £53K to consider...
You did watch the video showing the area where he was found? You know, the one showing the steep and treacherous ravine that was full of thick vegetation?
