    Several years ago I randomly bumped into Armie down a remote country lane where he was obviously staying during a filming assignment. He looked familiar, but I didn't immediately recognise him. He actually seemed like a nice sort of guy, had a friendly chit-chat, and gave me directions to where I was trying to get to.

    As a woman, I believe a large part of his story. Obviously, he's been prepped for this conversation to an extent, but a lot of this sounds very real and raw, and he handled Piers' questions well. It's unfortunate that what he saw as a consensual act would be used to blackmail and extort him for years. What people don’t realise is he came from a massively wealthy family, his father was a leading industrialist who basically disowned his son when he chose to go into acting. Whilst he has to take responsibility for his actions, I get the sense that whilst outwardly he had it all, inside he was still an insecure kid he desperately sought validation and approval.

He wasn’t getting tons of lead roles, he mostly did supporting roles for smaller films. I don’t know who this guy is but he did pretty well in this interview for the topic. I never know what to think about this type of situation because women can say anything and immediately be believed. I say that as a woman myself. Years ago my brother was accused of some things by an ex and she took him to court over it. Funny thing was she picked a weekend that she said things happened not realizing he was at a wedding with many friends and family and it was hundreds of miles away. He lost friends, his job, and his name was tarnished UNTIL he went to court and it came out she was making it all up. The judge scolded her for about 10 mins and she got to go on her merry way. I’ve looked at these situations differently since that happened to someone I know has spent his entire life protecting his sisters, mom, and friends from disrespectful men. Like this guy he was told to stay silent until he was in court but that meant people assumed he was guilty because he wasn’t defending himself.

      @Pinkbutterfly444 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Supporting and staying with a partner who has an addiction is often seen as part of the commitment you make when getting married. When you take your marriage vows, you are promising to stick by your partner through challenges, including personal struggles like addiction. In contrast, an affair is generally considered a legitimate reason to end a marriage, both legally and morally. This is because an affair involves a deliberate betrayal of the marriage vows and the trust between partners, creating a new relationship outside the marriage.
      An affair can be far more detrimental to a marriage because it represents a conscious decision to violate the mutual commitment and trust that are foundational to the relationship. This betrayal can be profoundly hurtful and damaging. On the other hand, dealing with a partner's addiction, while challenging, is about supporting them through a difficult time, rather than dealing with a deliberate betrayal.
      Therefore, it is understandable why someone might view being cheated on as worse than supporting a partner through addiction. The personal hurt and sense of betrayal from an affair can feel much more harmful compared to the shared struggle of dealing with addiction together. This perspective helps explain why the emotional impact of an affair can be so severe.

    • @girumzemichael704
      @girumzemichael704 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +23

      Yes, him or anybody having an affair is way more important than that. Not saying living with an addict is fun; we have to state the obvious these days. But the betrayal of being intimate (even gross madness like they’re talking about) with another human is heart piercing. I know culture tries to teach otherwise these days but you don’t see spouses/ intimate partners getting killed by their partners for addiction; that is weakness that leads to worse things but giving yourself away to another is viscerally different. No amount of cultural indoctrination can change that.
