- In this video we take a look at this BMW 650i that I purchased at a local auto auction. This BMW has 227k miles but is in such good condition that I thought it was a good idea to take a risk on it. I give a quick overview of the car and why I bought it, plus go over some of the work that I had to do immediately after getting the car home.

Almost all BMW's look amazing in silver
You might need to code the vans solenoids to the car. Nice video.
My scan tool allows me to reset VANOS adaptations but that didn't seem to fix it. And honestly the more I drive it the less often the code comes back
That 650 is a lot of car for the money
For $8100 I think this was by far the cheapest way to get a relatively modern luxury twin turbo V8. Definitely a lot of performance and features for the money.
Great video
Thanks!
Take off the M6 grille man
edit: oh my god its upbadged too
How I got it is how you see it. I was planning on taking off the M6 badge off the back but it's pretty low on the priority list
I’ve been eyeing for this 6GC for sometimes. The engine info would definitely come handy and is geeky 😀
From the BMW TIS website you can buy a day pass and download all the engine info and workshop manuals you want.
nice videos men. I like it
Thanks!
Another solid video, You guys. We released a portable air pump. Can we invite you to do a review? If so, How can we connect with you?
I bet that vanos code probably come from the charge pipe/boost leak
Interesting, I've never heard of that being the cause for a vanos code.
@@Dan_And_Daves_Garage okay check this out.. i had a n63 in a 550i.. i would get that vanos code whenever i go full throttle and get into boost .. figured out my charge pipe had a boost leak and the code went away after fixing the boost leak .. i figured the car would throw that code because the vanos system wasn’t getting the correct afr to do its job
Thanks for the heads up. I actually haven't fixed it yet and have just dealt with intermittent issue since it decides to almost randomly go on and off. Do you recall the exact codes you were getting? Sometimes mine says the exhaust camshaft is stuck, exhaust position not reached, and cold start not controllable.
@@Dan_And_Daves_Garage no i don’t remember the exact codes to it .. but to me it sounds like there is a boost leak or i would start replacing sensors
Fire
How many miles on that car? 😮😮😮
Is that the first engine still?
228k miles, and it's still the original engine
NICE VIDEO
Thank you!
Feed my boy Fritz
Dude, any car that you rev after a cold start, is bound to have problems
And here I thought it was just every N63 that had problems
Wait until you start having problems with that engine lol. Thousands of dollars to change a $10 part.
