I think a professional website is important for a few reasons: it is a public relations tool for which you have basically 100% control over and you should use that control to its fullest extent; also we should not assume that social media platforms, like Instagram, will be around forever and will stay "free"...

It's funny because I am getting so sick of Facebook and Instagram and have always wanted my own website. Getting into art, but I have used those platforms for buying and selling furniture and I abhor algorithms. If I understood them, then I'd maybe love those platforms. lol. Then again, they are always changing them. How else can your get your art out there other than social media?
