    Excellent, honest, just the facts review. I still find CP’s on sale that come down to the price of the Koio’s and have them shipped usually from stores in Italy. I love them both, depends mostly on material and color for me.

    Great video.. straight to the point.. I purchased the CP’s a few years ago and had to resell them.. I have wide feet, since KOIO offers the triple white in wide I’m going to give them a try.. hopefully they don’t look goofy in wide.

      Something that's not talked about a lot is actually the shape of the last used to make Common Projects. The toe box is not symmetrical like it is on the Koio which is a huge part of the reason that so many people find the Achilles Low uncomfortable - it simply does not work for a lot of foot shapes in addition to being extremely narrow. I just ordered the capri for the same reason as you

    Great review answered so many questions in this video. I myself have 6 Vince sneaker shows different colors and they look awesome and the comfort is top notch, I also got Oliver Cabell and they to fit perfect and look so nice, also have a pair of Thursday Sneaker shoes and they fit perfect and the Thursday shoes you can smell the leather and it is very noticeable once you take them out of the Box, i plan on buying some Koio and hopefully i will like them

      Since I made that video, they have changed the Koio’s a bit from what I’ve read, I haven’t had a chance to check them out in person though, but I’ve been meaning to head down to the store to check them out.. from the photos I’ve seen it doesn’t look like they did anything too drastic

    Your so spot on. These shoes, and I mean all like CP and Koio are uncertain. My NB are much more comfy. The look is the deal breaker. Thanks for the sizing info, I am highly interested in a suede pair.

  • @michaelsullivan1216

    I agree. I've owned Greats and tried Oliver Cabell and the Common Project. Common Project is just too narrow. Oliver Cabell was nice, but notable difference in quality. It looked closer to a Stan Smith. The Greats were incredibly uncomfortable at first, but eventually got more comfortable, however, they look huge on foot, especially when you wear a size 13 like me. The Koios were the best all around. The comfort, fit and style were on point and you can find them on sale occasionally.

      Do you also wear size 13 for Nike sneakers? I wear 13 Nike but for this kind of shoes I normally come down half an inch

    • @michaelsullivan1216
      @michaelsullivan1216 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-xh4it4bm9t Yes, I do wear 13 in most Nike sneakers. I bought the Koio Capri in a 12 more recently and they fit great. They do take a little time to break in, but for me, it was more to do with the leather insole molding to my foot, rather than any tightness, rubbing or pinching. Although, I do want to say that the sizing seems to have changed slightly. I had originally bought a Capri in 12 in a different color a year or 2 before and they just feel more narrow and even today, they are not as comfortable.

  • @davidg5290

    Great review. I like that you tapped into comfort. Most reviews like you said say super comfortable and I find that not true at all. In fact I find them a little uncomfortable and for some reason none of my no show socks stay on my heal with these. I even put on double sided tape and still have the issue. I just walked from work to the train station with these on and I won’t be doing that again. They are good for going to dinner or a place you won’t be walking much. Any tips on having your no show socks stay on? I feel like I tried everything.

    These sneaker designs are normally narrow. I wear NB 2E wide and Koio is the only brand that I've seen with E wide sneakers. Will definitely consider it.

    Great and honest review. I bought a pair of the Capris but it was Gen 2. I have the Beckett Simonon Reid and the quality was better than the Capris imo. The quality control on the Capris was lacking with big creases and large veins seen in the leather. I’m exchanging them for a new pair before I decide to get a refund.

    • @style_45
      @style_45  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think one can beat the Beckett Simonon Reid on quality and price … The only issue I hear people have with them is that they’re kind of bulky but to me even though they are a little bulky they still have a nice silhouette.

    • @jamesTea53
      @jamesTea53 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@style_45 I like my Reid’s a lot. Only worn them a couple times, but they were comfortable right out of the box.
      Just now, Koio had their Capri 1st Gen in triple white in stock in my size (13). I ordered them and will be here in a week. I’ll compare the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen Capri in triple white and report back here with my thoughts.

    • @style_45
      @style_45  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes please do I’ve been wondering what’s the difference between the 1 and 2 gen.

    • @jamesTea53
      @jamesTea53 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So I have both Gen 1 and Gen 2 Capri in Triple White in hand. Here’s some key differences:
      Leather: Gen 1 leather is smoother while Gen 2 has more texture. It seems Koio is using leather similar to their “regenerative” line in the Gen 2. It’s soft but you’ll see more skin patterns and even some vein lines.
      Laces: Gen 2 replaced the cotton laces with something shinier and more substantial. It seems your complaint about the laces have been addressed in the new version
      Shape: Gen 1 is slimmer and sleeker than Gen 2. Gen 2 has slightly wider and taller toebox.
      Comfort and fit: Personally, I found the Gen 2 a bit more comfortable out of the box, but I prefer a wider toe box. However, I like the silhouette of Gen 1 better for styling.
      Extra: Gen 1 has more cushioning around the ankle. Gen 2 has a thicker shoe tongue. Suede lining on ankle feels more grippy in the Gen 1. Gen 2 has extra branding on the rubber outsole at the heel. Also, the branding on the tongue is a bit higher on the Gen 2. Tread is different on both.
      I can’t comment on the difference between the Margom outsole of the Gen 1 to the new, partially recycled rubber outsole from the Gen 2.
      In end, I decided to return the Gen 2 due to its price ($70 more than Gen 1), non-Margom outsole, and the more textured leather. I hope this helps anyone who’s considering the new version of the Koio Capri.

    Haven't tried the Koio but I have tried the Greats Royal (supposedly a somewhat similar 'tier' shoe) and I find that initially, they are quite uncomfortable and have a rather lengthy break in period. Then again, it's the first shoe of this kind I've tried so I'm comparing to the average mass market sneakers like Reebox, Nike, Adidas, etc.
    Once broken in, I find them quite comfortable, and walk fairly long distances in them sometimes. Importantly, I find them much better quality than the avg. mass market sneaker. The average mass market sneaker often falls apart after over a year of daily wear. I'm the kind of guy that only has one pair of shoes for each purpose (and typically only sneakers and dress shoes at that) so I wear the same pair of shoes almost every day.
    All this to say I don't get them exclusively for the look, but also for the quality.
