- A crazy 24 hour travel day starting in Yerevan Armenia, taking a bus to Tbilisi, Georgia, flying to Istanbul, Turkey and then on to Skopje, North Macedonia. Mixed in with PCR test drama along the way, this was a crazy long day (and a bit) to travel from the Caucasus to the Balkans to begin an epic road trip!

Wow you're in Macedonia now awesome! All those connections looked so exhausting. Happy to hear you have an Airbnb that's welcoming and clean. Who plans your rides and connections? Does one of you do it or do you both plan it together? It seems daunting navigating so many connections but you're rarely stranded and you know where to go throughout each country. Have you been to all of them already?
oh yeah, it was a very long way for sure 😊 Matt normally plans everything and also we do a lot of it together, but Matt is the navigator for sure 😊we have been to some of them, not all 😊

Reading through the comments; please give Matt and Julia a break guys... I do understand the sensitivities around the country's name, but this couple only strives to share their exploration of the country and their interaction with the population/culture with us. For us people not living in that region, we can only refer to the country by the official/recognised name; the Republic of North Macedonia, shortened to North Macedonia, populated by Macedonians and speaking Macedonian. Choosing to side with any other naming convention than the official one will bring down tons of wrath on their heads from the other "side"!

thank you very much 😊 I moved to the UK when I was 18 and basically only spoke english (family, work, everywhere), wasn't around any Russian speakers (only when I spoke to my Russian family on the phone and when we were visiting them in Russia) 😊❤️

"Macedonia" is an exclusively Greek name referring to an ancient Greek kingdom and to its modern successor the modern Greek province of Macedonia.macedonia= Greece and Greece=Macedonia! To call the people known as fyrom Macedonia or Macedonians is a misnomer.Fyrom is in reality West Bulgaria and belongs to Bulgaria.
