Goku and Gohan came out of the hyperbolic Time chamber and went home stayed in the super Saiyan form the whole time and that's when Goten was conceived so he was in his super Saiyan form with his son the whole time right before the cell games bud so you better go back and check your manga recheck your anime and get your facts right so go 10 was the only offspring that his father was in super Saiyan form when he was conceived. I found it confusing on why in super, mastered super saiyan and the grades of super saiyan was dropped by toyutaru.
Because the ssj grades are not really yknow… important to the story anymore… unless they give goten and trunks a training arc.
They showed grade 2 & 3 in super twice. When trunks showed up, and vegeta used grade 2 in the dark blue form with toppo
I think their mastery of regular ssj has gotten to the point where the other grades wouldn't really be relevant at this point.
Tbh ssb became the new ssj for dbs in effect it was the goto transformation for any new fighter they came up against until jiren.
Notice how the tension in dbs broly was that ssb wasn't enough after he became ssj? They jumped straight to fusion. Though that's partly because of being a movie and for the purpose of hype but still.
It was dropped back in the Buu Saga. Super didn't start it.
Once Super Saiyan 2 was achieved, the grades became irrelevant. And thus, was dropped in Buu Saga. Remember when Goku went through the forms. He didn't show off the grades. He just went, "This is Super Saiyan. This is Super Saiyan 2. And this is RRRRRAAAAAAAAA....." Goku completely skipped the grades like it didn't exist.
So it was dropped back in the Buu Saga.
Ppl also forget that it was just super saiyan 1,2, and 3 there were actually grades in all of them
Vegeta had its tail cut off in the Saiyan saga, plus he's an adult so he loses that regeneration to regrow it which would explain why Trunks did not inherited the tail. Goku had his tail remove before the tournament and didn't take him that long and chi chi to have Gohan to inherited that trait, it was one of the two traits that Gohan has that play a role in the Saiyan saga

If it s a recesive gene then it s just less likely to appear, for instance blonde hair, blue eyes etc, they have 25% chance of appearing in a child that has one parent with them and another parent with brown eyes and brown hair. I think people confuse that with the dilution of a gene that has a single source. That's why trunks does not have a tail either
Toriyama never wrote any of the OAV, not even Bardock or Story of Trunks. Takao Koyama wrote/created all those. So no wonder he forgot about Broly since he didn’t create him.

actually toriyama created the design for Broly. The whole reason Broly hair are green when he transforms is due to the fact that was the color he had in mind for Goku Super saiyan form to make a pun with his saiyan name.

In ATs concept art design Broly has regular golden hair, green hair was not his idea. Even for DBS Broly ATs concept arts are base, hikari and regular ssj. Green hair version was yet again not his idea it was Shintani if I'm not mistaken.

It’s because after Z, toriyama started drawing Trunks with blue hair because Bulma has blue hair. It’s stupid but it’s one of the few things that he changed that has some sort of sense.
The tails part it makes much more sense that their tails are directly linked to their saiyans heritage and the source of their powers! So ssj 4 /uzaru form makes them more formidable especially with god ki stacked on top of that.
That part right there where you was trying to remember whether or not launch donated energy to the spirit bomb is exactly why filler is Canon regardless. Even if there wasn't a panel in the Manga specifically showing her donate energy, do you think that she didn't, even after hearing gokus voice or hercule calling out for help? Just because it's a portion of the arc that doesn't help move the story along a speficic route doesn't mean that it isn't a part of the story. Just a random thought.

Huge theory that might be true, now hear me out ok, what if toyotaru hinted something that could change our thoughts on what is Canon and what's not when it comes to dragon ball. I state this cause in a recent interview toyotaru stated that, "dragon ball gt is an alternate timeline where goku did get ssj4, and hints at an ssj5, but what if I told you that's the route they might take with daima?! What if daima takes place during the same time as dragon ball super but with a totally different twist, goku ends up gaining ssg, and blue in his child state, but instead of ui, he gets ssj4, making both super and daima Canon, just alternate timeline, and a different twist of things. This could just be my liking for the look of ssj4 talking, but it would be a pretty cool idea considering at that point we could have something like dragon ball multiverse which was a fanmade manga, but inside that manga they had a screenshot of none other than beerus and whis, right before battle of the gods movie! Thus is why I think toyotaru is trying to make it to where even the fan made stuff eventually becomes canon! But it's just a theory, so don't bite my head off

Goku was originally a dragon / monkey. Then his wife wanted him more human like. So over the series goes he became more humanistic and dropped the tail and wings of his original design. Now it seems maybe Piccolo is the one inspired by the dragon not goku.

They’re both half saiyan with possible latent potential. Maybe some saiyans like trunks simply had the “tail gene” evolved out or maybe something more complex like the goings on between human and saiyan DNA giving a hybrid child a 50/50 chance of inheriting one. Fact is no one truly knows since nothing official has been mentioned.
Toriyama removed it because he got tired of drawing tails long long ago. The common headcanon is that goten and trunks had tails that were just cut off at birth.

I don't think he forgot about tails, because that's been there since day 1, it's the entire inspiration behind the whole franchise, Goku being Son Wukong from Journey to the West while Bulma is Xuangzang. If he forgot tails it was in the moment while drawing, not that he forgot in its entirety I think, or maybe it just got difficult to draw tails.

Actually blackscape I got to call you wrong on that one. First generation half bread Saiyans can have tails as seen with Gohan because his father is a full-bred Saiyan making the gene transfer 50/50. Second generation half breed saiyans cannot have tails because they are Born from an already half breed saiyan generation like Pan because her father is Gohan making the gene trait 33/100.
Trunks and Goten should definitely have tails since their first generation half breeds like Gohan. There's no mistaking it. This is just another one of toriyama's inconsistencies in story writing showing even after his death 🤦🏿. R.I.P. The goat though 🤷🏿.

And there's super saiyan 1 grade 2, where their ki and power is enhanced, and becomes a Lil bulky, also referred to by vegeta in this form, super vegeta, then there's the state goku and trunks found, which is super saiyan 1 grade 3, which is where they lose speed for pure power! Then there's super saiyan 1 grade 4, also known as mastered super saiyan, the same states of super saiyan goku and gohan had when they exited the time chamber back in the cell arc and couldn't go back to base form for awhile, due to super saiyan felt natural to them. And then there's a super saiyan grade 5, also known as super saiyan 2! As for the grading in ssj2, that was never shown! 3. The tail, I agree with you there, but there's something everyone forgets about, but it's stated even in the dragon ball lore, and it's stated, "a saiyans tail is able to grow back, but only due to staring at a moon during its bluntswave cycle, meaning when the moon is in the right position, and is shooting down bluntswaves a saiyan can still undergo the transformation, and growing their tail back in the process! It was even shown in the beginning of z, and when goku lost his tail for the last time, however nowhere have I read, a saiyans tail cannot grow back after being lost, due to the fact gohan had his tail cut off and piccolo ended up having to blow up the moon, and then cut his tail off the second time, but gohans tail grew back after seeing the moon during a bluntswave cycle! Like it's in the daishinkai book, it's even shown in the anime and manga! 4. More so towards the Fandom. I hate yalls love for ssj3, for the simple fact goku has had more wins in his ssj2 form than he has in his ssj3 form, he's lost more times in that form than he's won in my opinion. In Saiyan hybrids the tail is a recessive trait. Toriyama himself stated that Gohan was a rare anomaly to have been born with a tail even though he's not pure Saiyan. This means that the reality is quite the opposite of your belief that Trump should have a tail. Again..... Gohan was a rare anomaly because in saiyan hybrids the tail is recessive. Trunks should not have had a tail at birth.

Wait.. Why would Goten not have a tail? He's still half Saiyan! ChiChi is full human, Goku is full Saiyan and we all saw Gohan with a tail, now Gohan off-spring shouldn't have a tail or it should be rare since the child would be 25% Saiyan at that point.
Goten and Trunks had tails its just that toriyama forgot and was a hassle to draw them all the time so he decided to remove em.
