Great review, very comprehensive. As as mature, now "downgrading" biker, I love these "medium" sized bikes. I ride an mt 03 at present which is silky smooth over the whole rev range. I'm surprised to hear of the vibes and throttle response you experienced, I was thinking of changing but now I'm not so sure.
Appreciate the comment, thank you. Your experience may vary, and I have to stress that this bike was only delivered with 320~ miles so it may smooth out - certainly worth a test ride if you can.
Alex, can you please do another video after de-restricting the bike and do a back to back comparison? So potential A2 buyers can see the difference after they get a full license?
@@BikeMatters Alex, that would be a very good video. I don't think I've seen anyone else do a video on before/after an A2 restricted bike. People talk about you can, but never show a video to show the difference
@@BikeMatters also, I forgot to mention about the insurance costs moving from CBT to A2 using a fictitious "Joe Blogs" aged 19-21 and the insurance for a 125cc to an A2 and then derestricted A2 after passing their license. All these things would be very helpful for potential new bikers looking forward to their future in motocycling
It's 168 kg for SE, 167 for the base model. But you're right. There is a mistake at kawasaki co uk. 2024 Z500 models are listed at 172 kg. 2025 models are listed correctly.

That bike can't be de-restricted, and we won't be getting it back in - though we could do a video on this topic in the future

Very good suggestion mate, I think we'll have to cover this. Particularly the different types of restrictions for A2, and how they work. Cheers!!

Weight isn't 172 kg?
Kawasaki UK list the 'curb mass' as 172? So if not, then what is it?

Very cool motorcycle. We have a motorcycle stereo with a compass and barometer. Are you interested? Can we talk about it?
