  • Thank you so much for watching! This is my story of how my husband and I discovered that we needed to do IVF if we wanted to start a family because of male infertility and low sperm count. Spoiler alert: it worked on our first cycle! So far we've had a successful twin pregnancy and this is just the first video of where it all began. We plan to film lots more videos on what we went through and show off our sweet little ones once they get here. We are hoping this helps give back to this amazing community we have found ourselves apart of. Please comment down below if you have any questions or any topics you're interested in hearing about in the future.

    Thanks for posting. I agree that it is very hard to find low sperm count fertility stories.

    OMG! Thank you so much for your transparency! It was needed… My Fiancé and I go for our 1st appointment tomorrow 8/11 and I’m so excited but scared at the same time. Praying everything goes well. I have one son already but my Fiancé has no children. 🤞🏾🤞🏾

    Wow, never thought I'd find a similar story to ours! All of my labs and ultrasound came back normal. My husband has counts ranging from 700k to 4 million. Urologist put him on Clomid due to low testosterone, which it HAS helped his T levels, but count hasn't improved and there is nothing else physically wrong with him. Urologist recommends IVF and we plan on starting the process later next year after we purchase a home! Glad to hear you all had a happy outcome! ❤️ It gives us hope!

    It’s so nice to see a familiar story! My husband and I have our first consult with our *local* (2hours away lol) fertility clinics. My husband has a low count of 6 million and I have irregular cycles. My husband didn’t have any blockages or anything. He was on the lower end of testosterone but still in the normal range. I’m hoping we can try iui. Congratulations on your babies!

      That is so exciting!! We had so much clarity and hope after our first appointment! I hope the same goes for you two. Also that is crazy there's not more fertility specialists around. Our Dr is thankfully in our town but he does have patients that travel hours and hours to see him as well. We are so lucky!

    We just found out my husband has a varicocele. Similar to you guys he has low count but good motility. You were so well spoken about this difficult topic! I truly admire your patience and strength. Similar to you, i was hesitant about IVF compared to IUI seeing how its way more invasive but I do see alot of success for male infertility and IVF. We will most likely be starting IVF in about 1 month or 2 and he will also get the varicocele correction surgery.

      I'm sorry to hear that about your husband but I'm so glad you two are able to move forward and get the fertility treatments needed! 💕 I'll be thinking of you! We were told when it's male fertility the success rate for a baby is much much higher! And thank you so much for the kind words. I was really hoping my story would help others like so many youtubers have done for me.

    Just beginning our fertility journey!! We want twins as well, lets see how this goes!

    • @CarlyPederson
      @CarlyPederson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congrats!! It's so much fun but also I wouldn't have minded having one and then the other because at times I always feel guilty when one twin gets more attention than the other. Or when you're cuddling one you always have to put them down to get to the other. Maybe that's just always how it is with two kids twins or not. But twins are definitely magical and so much fun. I'll be thinking of you and hoping you get your sweet babies soon!

    Me and my husband have been trying for another baby for going on 4 years in August. I have done iui 4 of them didn’t work took clomid for a year didn’t work also had surgery to remove a polyp and thought that would get me pregnant but no luck. If we aren’t pregnant by early next year then we will be doing mini ivf which I hope I don’t have to do. Congratulations on your twins god bless

      Carly Elizabeth okay thanks I will. Yeah I did clomid this cycle and found out that I did ovulate so that’s good. I am 9 dpo today and my test today have been negative so I’m starting to think I’m out this cycle. We are probably going to have to do ivf but can’t do that until we get are tax refund next year which stinks. I don’t want to wait that long but if I have to then I will. God bless

    Hi it’s really hard to find similar ivf journey thank you for being open about yours and helping others. We are currently about to start our ivf icsi journey. I was wondering how many embryos did you get to freeze ? And how many embryos did you transfer ?

    • @CarlyPederson
      @CarlyPederson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats on getting started!! I will be sending you all the positive happy vibes!!!! We ended up with 6 embryos that went to genetic testing (1 didn't make it being unfrozen). 4 came back healthy enough to transfer. We transferred the two healthiest and both took the first round. 💕

    Hey Carly, did you go through 5 days blastocyst transfer of embryos? Also what precautions did u take in the wait time post implantation? 🙂

    • @CarlyPederson
      @CarlyPederson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I took a little youtube break because I got super busy with work. Anyway, that sounds very familiar I think they did have to wait for a few days for the embryos to grow at the clinic and then they froze them, did the genetic testing and then we did a frozen embryo transfer a few weeks later. We had our retrieval in Sept and transfer in Nov. to give you an idea of the timeline. I didn't take any precautions. In fact I had a last min - "I'm about to be a Mom my life is changing forever" - freakout and booked a trip to Vegas with my best friend the weekend before my transfer. 🤣(& that turned out to be the best decision ever because then Covid hit during my pregnancy.) My Dr told me that the embryos were already created and healthy so as long as I stopped drinking 72 hours before my transfer my body would be good to go. So that's what I did and I just drank a ton of water and ate healthy for those three days before.

    Shall we able to be normal after doing IVF. Will it affect our health, body, career in any way.

  • @sniegesa9335

    First of all, congratulations to all those who reached successful end of their infertility journeys. I am really curious to hear if anybody was able to increase sperm count being otherwise healthy...We are trying for a second baby and had a miscarriage 10 months ago. My husband seems to have normal testosterone but elevated FSH and the sperm count is about 10mln. I don't know how we got pregnant so easily with our first almost immediately after trying (I was 35 years of age), I am now 37, soon 38. We are considering IVF...By the way, a lot of people mention having IUI. We had a consultation regarding IUI and the doctor adviced agains it in our case as it would be the same as intercourse and would not improve our chances at all.

    • @CarlyPederson
      @CarlyPederson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. 💕 We were told the same with IUI. We were told that is mainly for motility issues and not sperm count. They did have my husband try some extra testosterone to see if it would help and it didn't. Our dr was very confident that IVF should work with our only issue being low sperm count. Best of luck to you!!

    Hi your journey has really helped me, it has given me so much hope. What dose of clomid was your husband on ? And did he take it every day for 3 months?

    • @CarlyPederson
      @CarlyPederson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Aww I'm so happy to hear that! I can't remember what does but they did increase it over time and I believe he tried it for like 5 months .. it was a really long time it felt like.

    • @CarlyPederson
      @CarlyPederson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My Dr evaluated my health and felt I would be ok if both stuck. So we transferred two in hopes for at least one and we’re so happy when we got two! 💕 Gosh I honestly can’t even remember all of the meds. One thing I did not realize is once you are pregnant you keep taking meds/shots until you’re almost 12 weeks! No one told me that. 🤪

    • @allysim3097
      @allysim3097 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarlyPederson OK, that makes sense. That is what we are hoping for also. And yes that is correct, I am learning that now even after you are pregnant you continue taking the meds which also did not know of when we started exploring the option of this procedure. Thank you so much for your reply

      Congrats on getting started with your IVF journey!! I don't remember what his were but if I come across it I'll definitely let you know. Our Dr told us that it really doesn't matter how low they are though because all we need is 1 viable sperm to fertilize an egg!
