Love this song and it went to no. 1 here in Australia. The entire album is a masterpiece written by the Gibbs and Barry was very involved in producing and did a couple of duets with her on the album. Kind of like Barbra sings the Bee Gees but Barry's production go so much out of her voice. Was going to buy tickets to see her in Sydney, probably 20 years ago. It was at White City Casino if i recall correctly. I called and almost fell of my chair when the woman said 'Two tickets? That'll be $3000.00. I was stunned. No way I was paying $1500.00 a ticket to see ANYBODY. I said 'Oh, thanks but sorry, I'm not going to worry about it.' She then said, "Oh but there are cheaper tickets. You might have to kind of look around the columns in the room because the view is partly obscured but they are only $789,00. Needless to say, I thanked her for her time, hung up and didn't go to see Babs.
Actually look into this a little further, Barry and Robin wrote Woman in Love. Barry, Robin and Maurice wrote the songs on side 1. Barry and other wrote side 2. Check it out. I'm right
Albhy Galuten's said Barry had the 9 songs written & demos recorded in 2 weeks. But Barry did give credit to one or both twins on 5 tracks & Albhy on 2. Check it out!
Written by Barry and Robin Gibb. Barbra released it in 1980. The Bee Gees wrote the entire Guilty album for Barbra. You should check out the duet Guilty with Barry.
There is a live performance of her singing duet with Barry doing Guilty and What kind of fool. Yes Barry singing backup, and his team produced this album.
OMG... you're blown away after just two songs... you ain't heard nothing yet. This woman is the only artist to chart an album at #1 in six consecutive decades... she's got tons of awards and is in the rarified EGOT club. She can sing any genre... Classical, Broadway, Pop, Soft Rock. Ballads, and R&B, even has done a little Country, Reggae, and Disco. I do agree with several other posters... your next one should be her duet with Donna Summer, "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)"... but select the longer version that was played in Discos... speaking of long notes... there's one that literally knocked Donna off her stool, and when she opened her eyes and looked up, Barbra was still holding the note. A classic HUGE hit in Americs and abroad. Enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole that is the incomparable Barbra Streisand.
Barbara asked Barry Gibb to write her next album. He not only wrote the so g but, you’ll hear Barry and the Bee Gee’s collectively on this album. Barry also produced the album. Next Must is - Guilty
Barry Gibb had an amazing gift for getting the most out of the vocalists they wrote for when he produced. 'Emotion' by Samantha Sang, "Heartbreaker' by Dionne Warwick, "Experience' by Diana Ross and so on. He's an amazing talent himself and I've loved his voice and music since early 70s
@setonhillstudios Barry produced the entire album with his production team; and he wrote EVERY song on the album either alone or in combination with Robin, Maurice, or Albhy Galutin. It was Barbra’s best selling album to date! Barry did 2 duets on the album with her. There are 2 live versions of these duets online. And you do need to check out more BEE GEES. And they wrote ALL their own songs. At one point in their career they released 6 straight #1 songs in a row. They were: 1. How Deep Is Your Love 2. Staying Alive (just about everyone on the planet has heard this song in movies) 3. Night Fever (All these 3 were from the Saturday Night Fever movie Soundtrack 4. Tragedy 5. Too Much Heaven - you did this one 6. Love you inside out So all of those are a must to react to. But they had hits before and after that streak. Here are others that are my favorites that you have to react to: 1. You Should Be Dancing 2. Jive Talking (live 1975 Midnight Special) 3. More than a woman 4. Nights on Broadway (live 1975 Midnight Special) 5. Love So Right 6. You Win Again (1987 Dutch TV countdown show) 7. Wind of Change (1975 live Midnight Special) And these are just the songs THEY SUNG! They wrote, played instruments, sung background and produced for OTHER ARTISTS, so please do some of these: 1. Emotions (Samantha Sang) 2. Immortality (Celine Dion live 1997 Vegas) 3. Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers/Dolly Pardons) 4. Woman in Love, (you did this one) Guilty, What Kind of Fool (Barbra Streisand) 5. Heartbreaker (Dionne Warwick 6. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) 7. If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) 8. Grease (Frankie Valli) 9. Any Andy Gibb record (he was their little brother and had a great solo career)
You need to check out the live version of " Guilty " & " What kind of Fool " that her and Barry Gibb sang together. There was a tv special in the mid to late 80's I think, and It was a live concert at Barbra's home. They sang BOTH songs. Worth checking out !!!!!!!
Growing up, it was just a known fact, Barbra was the most gifted female vocalist ever. No doubt, no question, she ruled. Now, younger people don't know her talent, but honestly, I still can't think of anyone who comes close, I'm not even a big fan of her music, not my thing, but you know greatness when you hear it. ✌❤
She was amazing - listen to People and My Man, beautiful songs, ( these are from a film she made called Funny Girl) you need to see the performance in the film to actually see how passionate she sings!
Having grown up listening to Babs, I reckon this is Barbra at her greatest, voice-wise. If you want the longest note ever held by her, and its a doozy, it's the final scene of her movie, Yentyl and the song is A Piece of Sky. It's frickin amazing!
Try 'The Way We Were', great ballad from the soundtrack of the movie she did by the same title with Robert Redford. She is a legend. For decades, people would have gladly paid big money to sit and listen to her sing the phone book! Anything she sings is fantastic. She worked from Broadway to Stadiums, and everything in between. You can't go wrong with Barbra, and yeah, I would bet that she can still hold that note!!!
Standards, Broadway, Pop, Rock, Disco, Gospel, Classical (in 6 languages), Jazz, R&B, she's sung it. During the height of their Saturday Night Fever popularity, the Brothers Gibb said they'd like to produce other artists. When a reporter asked who, their response was "Streisand". That answer culminated in "Guilty" produced by Barry, with 8 out of 9 songs written and composed specifically for Barbra.
Barry & Robin Gibb wrote this song....she and Barry sang several duets together, as well, and they are STUNNING!!! I'm telling you - her work in the movie: Yentl was AMAZING!!
Barbara is my all-time favorite singer. Her range is absolutely incredible. Two songs that really highlight her talent are Don’t Rain on My Parade from Funny Girl and Somewhere.
I'm glad to see that you younger people are recognizing the the extraordinary talent that is Barbra Streisand she's unique with her sound and her abilities it's about the singing in the song it's not about vocal gymnastics if you want to hear rock and roll it's kind of style try prisoner if you want disco try main event or No More Tears if you want to hear more classic sounding things there's even classical Barbara and Broadway Barber which is more show tunes even to the point of gospel with Higher Ground
Like Marilyn Monroe's beauty, Streisand's vocals exist in their own time and place. No matter what the vintage they sound like she recorded them yesterday. She is constantly being discovered by new generations because she really is a musical genre unto herself.
Barbara is VERY versatile. Not only did she work with Barry Gibb on this album, but she has duets with Neil Diamond, Kris Kristoferson, and Donna Summer. RIP Kris and Donna. She's also known as a songwriter, actress, director and producer. I think her first big hit, "People" should be the next Streisand song. She also starred in one of the funniest movies of the 70s called "What's Up, Doc"?
Every song on this Album is great and she had multiple hits from it! She has had so many hits since she came out in the early 60s that they can barely be counted!! She is also an Academy Award Winning atress and director with multiple films to her resume.
I didn’t become a fan of hers until I saw a movie she was in called for Pete’s sake. It was so funny, then I started paying more attention to her voice, and oh heavens! This is my absolute favorite by her, but I learned to appreciate the rest. She also sings one with Donna Summer that is amazing.
Barbra's voice, Barry Gibb's songwriting and harmonising vocals with his brothers - how could this not be fabulous! One of my faves too. You most definitely hear that 'Bee Gees sound', always a joy. 😀 - Next song, 'No More Tears (Enough is Enough)' duo with Donna Summer (another incredible voice).
@@leannmiller7153 Yes, there were female backing vocalists. I should've been clearer - to clarify, I didn't mean his brothers were singing. Robin helped write, and the 'BG sound created'.
Another hit from around the same time that shows of her vocals even more is Prisoner (Theme from The Eyes of Laura Mars). On her Greatest Hits Volume 2. Definitely check it out.
I second all the recommendations. And add “My man” - get the actual scene from the movie. It’s amazing singing and acting. Also, I love any movie scene from “On a clear day you can see forever”. Her voice was impeccable in that movie.
in addition to the suggestions from others I suggest you listen/watch Barbra singing "Somewhere" and, if you can stay calm, "You'll Never Walk Alone" at the 2001 Emmy Awards, not long after 9/11. This latter performance needs you to do a bit of research first to see how it came about.
You say she is killing it ,but i disagree with you - she was setting the bar hitting those notes with minimal effort . What an incredible woman with an incredible voice too . She was also quite a good actress too .
This is my first time hearing this as well never was a fan ,like her acting, but yes that was amazing,n Barry n Robin Gibb wrote the song,oh you've only did 1 Bee Gees song get on it boy!!! it's be a long journey they have so many great songs 💖 they are truly amazing 🤩
This is 🔥🔥🔥🔥, tho not surprised. Babs is in a league of her own. She's singing a long long time. I remember her great song People who need People, mid 60s, great actress also. Definitely one of the greatest singers in music history.
The album is complete fire. I know you don’t do whole albums online but in your spare time, I highly recommend you listen to the entire album every song on it will blow you away.
Barbra Streisand, one of the best ever female voices. Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion "Tell him" is beautiful ~ and "Evergreen" is definitely one to listen to. enjoyed this. cheers.
This song has Bee Gees in every note! Loved that they did the background! Barry said he had to write like he was a woman and that was hard!!!! LOL Can you not hear Barry's voice? Oh my, you REALLY need to get up to date on your Bee Gees!!!!
I first heard this song while driving home from work after a night shift. I arrived halfway through the song, and I had to sit in the car and listen until the end. I went out later that day and found the CD with it on. I'm still amazed by both the musical complexity and the brilliance of the vocal every time I hear it. Fabulous stuff!
Try looking up her One Voice concert in her back yard. She sang live with Barry Gibb-2 of her hits with him. Other songs from that concert-Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Send In The Clowns. Also try her tv special from 1967, Color Me Barbra-she sings C’est Si Bon. Her singing live is just phenomenal!
You should try "Tell Him" duet with Celine Dion, "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" duet with Neil Diamond, and "Somewhere". Bee Gees suggestions: "Nights on Broadway (Studio Version)" and "Fanny Be Tender With My Love".
The backup singers are Denise Maynelli, Myrna Mathews, and Marti McCal. People mistakenly think it’s the BeeGees, but these ladies deserve recognition. They sound fabulous❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Barbra Streisand's first album (which won the Grammy for Album of the Year) was released in 1963, so she's been at it for quite some time. LOL She is also a songwriter, actress, producer, director, and best-selling author. She has collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the music and movie business. Barbra Streisand's music will send you down a deep rabbit hole. You have so much to discover. If you want to continue with this album ("Guilty," which was produced by Barry Gibb), you should probably check out her two duets with Barry Gibb, the title track "Guilty" and the ballad "What Kind of Fool," where her voice really soars. The closing track, "Make It Like a Memory" is a strange mix of styles, but Barbra delivers a vocal performance that will blow your mind again! 😁
People seem to always react to memories or somewhere as their intro to her.which are good but are covers and not written for her like Barry Gibb did for this song. Memories is from Andrew Lloyd Webber's long running musical cats.elaine Paige is the one who was in the musical and known for singing it. Somewhere is from west side story. I would love you to react to Barbara singing hello dolly ft Louis Armstrong from the movie hello dolly. Before the parade passes by. Papa can you hear me Don't rain on my parade. Evergreen No more tears(enough is enough)ft Donna summer. She sang with Judy garland on Judy's show.

What about that note!!! Barbra Streisand is absolutely UNREAL!!
The song “guilty” is the massive hit on the album and that is a duet with Gibb.
This song should be heard with "Who's Sorry Now" Another huge hit off the same album with Barry Gigg. A masterpiece.
Love this song and it went to no. 1 here in Australia. The entire album is a masterpiece written by the Gibbs and Barry was very involved in producing and did a couple of duets with her on the album. ALL songs!

Barry Gibb wrote the song 🎵
They recorded a follow-up album, Guilty Pleasures, 25 years later. Fun album, but not nearly the pop masterpiece Guilty is.

There’s Streisand, and then there is everyone else.
17 seconds
one of the most famous notes ever recorded
Unreal!!! 🤯
Barbra’s duet with Celine Dion “Tell Him” is a must listen!
She has a perfect voice
Absolutely amazing! 💯

Barbra is unique, a living legend. Spectacular singer, actress and director who has been singing for 70 years!
Barbra has one of the greatest voices in the world. Her vocal range, power and phrasing is astonishing! A true artist.
Her and Ella Fitzgerald. Pure.

GOAT!! She is the singer that Whitney, Mariah and Celine idolized!
She is one of the most exceptional female voices to ever grace a stage.❤
And a great actress.
"The Way We Were" is one of Streisand's greatest.
I haven't heard this in a while. I had forgotten the power she has.
Barbra Streisand The World's Greatest Star.
This was one of her best selling albums ever. Barry Gibb has his hands all over this album. Many great songs on here!
If this blows your mind, you definitely have to react to her singing "A piece of sky". The last note of the song is legendary !!
Babs is something else for sure. One of the greats and still with us.
Check out her duet with Barry Gibb called "Guilty." I also recommend "Evergreen," a beautiful ballad and one of her best songs IMO.
Give her album "Wet" a listen. The album's theme is water as all songs include a reference to it. Definitely cool.
Tell Him a duet with Celine and Barbra it's great
@setonhillstudios
Barry produced the entire album with his production team; and he wrote EVERY song on the album either alone or in combination with Robin, Maurice, or Albhy Galutin. It was Barbra’s best selling album to date! Barry did 2 duets on the album with her. There are 2 live versions of these duets online.

This is my favorite Barbra song along with Evergreen with Kris Kristofferson
❤❤❤

Barry Gibb wrote and produced the entire Guilty album for Barbra Streisand. Barry did two duets with her on this album.
Barbara Streisand has a perfect voice. In fact 17 seconds of perfection has not been beaten.
This is absolutely (to me) her best song. And I’d say it’s due to Barry’s song writing!
Barry & Robin Gibb wrote this song....she and Barry sang several duets together, as well, and they are STUNNING!!! I'm telling you - her work in the movie: Yentl was AMAZING!!
“Don’t rain on my parade”

“My heart belongs to me”
Etc etc etc……
Barbara is my all-time favorite singer. Her range is absolutely incredible. Two songs that really highlight her talent are Don’t Rain on My Parade from Funny Girl and Somewhere.
Barbra is very versatile... she even did a fantastic duet with Disco Queen Donna Summer!

Enough is Enough with Donna Summer is FIRE
Like Marilyn Monroe's beauty, Streisand's vocals exist in their own time and place. No matter what the vintage they sound like she recorded them yesterday. She is constantly being discovered by new generations because she really is a musical genre unto herself.
One of my favourites is Prisoner (theme song The Eyes of Laura Mars). Really shows off her vocal range. Ty Steven, enjoying your reactions
My fave too.

I ate, breathed, and drank this album in 1980. I loooooove this album, and this song.
As did I. Awesome album. Every track a winner. The Gibbs knew how to write and how to write for various artists. Think it was her best selling album.
Yep, this was her best selling album. Barry was also the primary writer on the entire LP.
Should check out Somewhere
Barbra Streisand is the original goat… Her music transcends time she did some outstanding work you you have a whole lot to listen to and enjoy❤
On the song “What Kind Of Fool” you’ll get to hear her sing with Barry. Barry and Robin Gibb provide background vocals on the album
Epic. The live performance in ver back garden is a must
Robin never sang background vocals on Barbra's album, or anyone they wrote for.
My favorite song by La Barbra. I think Barry Gibb produced this album.

You HAVE to listen to her One Less Bell to Answer/ A House it not a Home, be prepared to be BLOWN away.
What kind of fool, barbra and barry, from this album guilty, the live version. Awesome. Kiss. Ana
Another hit from around the same time that shows of her vocals even more is Prisoner (Theme from The Eyes of Laura Mars). On her Greatest Hits Volume 2. Definitely check it out.

She did a song with Donna Summer called Enough is Enough and held the longest note I’ve ever heard. It was done back in 1979.
Somewhat recently, she teamed back up with Barry Gibb with a follow up album called Guilty Pleasures.
I'm delighted that you enjoyed this song. To put it simply - Barbra is the best!
Streisand and Celine - the best of the best. GOATS.
You need to check out her duet with Donna Summer, Enough is Enough/No More Tears.
If I could vote 10 times I would
in addition to the suggestions from others I suggest you listen/watch Barbra singing
"Somewhere" and, if you can stay calm, "You'll Never Walk Alone" at the 2001 Emmy Awards, not long after 9/11.
This latter performance needs you to do a bit of research first to see how it came about.
This was a HUGE number one hit worldwide
GUILTY
You say she is killing it ,but i disagree with you - she was setting the bar hitting those notes with minimal effort . What an incredible woman with an incredible voice too . She was also quite a good actress too .
Whenever I hear this song on the radio and it's past 'the note' I feel that I've completely missed out.

Barbra is absolutely amazing, has a brilliant catalog. For other duets try her with Celine Dion, Neil Diamond and Donna Summer, just amazing
hi there, look into a great duet between Barbra Streisand and the late Donna Summer. Enough is Enough.
NIce review.
Celine and Barbara "tell him " 🔥
Barry Gibb wrote most of the songs and produced the album. He also sang with her
The album is complete fire. I know you don’t do whole albums online but in your spare time, I highly recommend you listen to the entire album every song on it will blow you away.
Piece of Sky and Prisoner from Eyes of Laura Mars
The whole of that album is a masterpiece!
@annepinkerton They didn’t sing backup on this. Denise Maynelli, Myrna Mathews, and Marti McCal sang backup. Barry did play acoustic guitar on it.
@@leannmiller7153, my bad! Thanks!
@ for the longest time I thought it was the BeeGees too🫣

I went out later that day and found the CD with it on. I'm still amazed by both the musical complexity and the brilliance of the vocal every time I hear it. Fabulous stuff!
One of the Top 3 singers of the 20th century; the other 2 being Judy Garland and Celine Dion.
It's even better to watch the interplay between Barbara and Barry live, maybe the Guilty video.
Better, watch the full two song video. Guilty and Who’s Sorry Now.
Guilty & What Kind of Fool!
barbra streisand make it like a memory
One less bell to answer and I never seen snow two earlier performs
What? Barbra is good?
Babs kills EVERTHING
Great reaction. Barbra is amazing!❤
"What Kind of Fool" duet with Barry Gibb should be next!
Same cause, same effect on me: Divine Barbra! She sang the telephone directory and it would be sublime.
Not a Barbara Streisand fan but this song is pretty amazing. I also like her in the movie, Guilt Trip
She is insane in this
Try looking up her One Voice concert in her back yard. She sang live with Barry Gibb-2 of her hits with him. Other songs from that concert-Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Send In The
Clowns.
Barry Gibb wrote and produced this whole album. Barry is singing background
Don't ever apologise for rambling,we love your rambles😂c'monlet'sgooooo.......
Haha 😂 Thank ya!
