Wow 5.5 Seconds 0-60 is terrible. Did you retry again after break in? And are you on 93 octane or 91?
I’ll have to try it again. We have 93 octane thank goodness cause 91 is awful 😂
You didn’t launch it that’s why it’s slower, and maybe u used manual shifting rather than automatic, which is quicker bc it shifts at red line
I’ve also noticed it’s much peppier now. I believe there is some limiting before a “break in” period is hit. Regardless of actual 0-60 it’s quite fun and sounds good 🤙🏽
@@CarsAndKyleVlogs my daily driver is X3M 2020, asked the dealer and ended up there’s no break in for these cars, so shouldn’t be a problem if u rev it or goes fast when it’s brand new
Maybe just hadn’t driven it enough in sport mode or it’s all in my head. Either way the shifts feel great now and sounds awesome in sport mode! I only drive it every now and then as it’s not my car anyways haha 👍🏽
So does the m40i do the stupid Mercedes thing where it returns to comfort mode every time you power cycle it?
It seemed to. However I’m going to see if there’s a way to set it to a driver profile. Cause the engine start stop while driving is always on which is annoying as well.
That Dragy time sounds accurate. Keep in mind that quoted 0-60 times usually involve very hard and abusive launches. Some magazines now quote 5-60 times which are more indicative of real world performance where you floor it from a light. My guess is that the time you got with Dragy would be similar to a 5-60 time. A EV, however, will probably have almost identical (0-60 and 5-60) times since there's no variability with turbos, revs, transmissions, etc.
Yea I’m sure if I use the brake to build up so boost/engine revs and launch harder I can easily shave off a few tenths 😏 but that makes sense
Definitely quicker if you brake boost it but I agree the 5-60 is a much better measurement for real world driving...it's not practical to use launch control or brake boosting every time you accelerate. Plus you'd look like an idiot, unless you're at a drag strip.
Launch control will get the quoted 0-60 time

Yea I’m not sure about reliability on this car and how different the 2020 engine is from older years. BUT if you buy new or even a CPO you get a nice manufacturer warranty for a little 🤙🏽

I've owned a 2019 X3 M40i since new from Nov 18 and hands down, best car I've owned. Nothings gone wrong, it's exceptional in storm conditions, super confident at high speed and hugely capable with a full load/towing. Never been overtaken on the motorway - nothing can keep up (except by a crazy dude in a cheap nissan who had a death wish !) 21' alloys, phytonic Blue, Indiv leather interior in mid tan - almost every option. Awesome... especially when I went past an Audi SQ7 at full chat, his face was a picture ! BMW Power Baby. 2nd BMW I've owned & 4th in the family, and no problems AT ALL.
elvis hawk hey you. So I took the plunge! Got the 2021. Phytonic blue with black varnasca upholstery and 20 inch wheels fully loaded. I love her! I’m having a blast driving this suv. Absolutely amazing. So glad I did. Got coverage for my run flats just in case.
