I am doing exactly what your are saying- in less then 30 days i will start in Porto and i was a bit afraid of this stage climb. So your description with the drone shots and views helps me a lot to understand a bit more what will come. Such an amazing work you did. Your vlogs also inspired me to do the variante espiritual
Love the advice and very helpful videos you so patiently give. I watched your progress from Porto last year and then did the same myself. Wow, man !! What a super adventure. !! At the end of March I want to go back to Pontavedra and do El Variante Espiritual . I hope to go out to Muxia and Finnisterre after Santiago. Thank you and Buen Camino !
Good memories! I did the Variante Espiritual a couple of years ago after walking the Camino Frances and on to Fisterra. Definitely worth doing. Thanks for your great videos!
Oh what a sweet treat for my morning coffee!🍮☕ And what a great video guide for the Camino, again! This time with the story from history that lies behind it - now I'm definitely taking Variante Espiritual! Thank you Efrén, for inspiring us and reminding us that we will travel again!🐌🤠
Hi Efrén, We’ve just completed Pontevedra to Armenteira and found that the final 100metres of the path (downhill to the Monastery) was quite degraded and a bit treacherous for some of us who are not as young as we used to be. ☺️. Was it rocky and slippery when you did it? The rest of the path all the way from Pontevedra was fine ( even the hill!). Thanks so much for your hard work in producing these Vlogs - I’ve found them invaluable! 🙂
Great video, Efrén. I walked the Camino Portuguese Coastal in 2017 from Porto and I loved it. I didn't know anything about Variante Espiritual. Maybe next time! I'm guessing that you have already answered this, but what do you use to keep on track when walking? I have used a few of the apps, but does Google Earth have good Camino maps to track from? It would be nice to see a video from you discussing all of the mapping apps you have used, comparing them.
thank you Gary. I will definently do a video on how to use the application. by default google earth pro doesn't come with any gps tracks but you can upload any kml files and you can even draw your own. I just finished tracing the entire Camino Frances and I will do those videos right after I finish this series.
Hii! I'm loving all your videos. I really appreciate how informative they are. Glad you documented the good, and the bad like the drunk man storming the albergue in the middle of the night. I think I would have had a heartache. Lol My daughter and I are hoping to do our first camino this coming spring. We only have 12/13 days to do it in. We figured we can do the last 160km or so via Camino Portugal, but not sure which is nicer. We would love to take the most scenic route possible and avoid as much modern/industrial ways. Is there a route you would recommend more? A friend did the Camino frances and says I should do that one instead. Thank you very much for all your input.
Glad to hear you like the vlogs. If all you have is 12 days i just finish the via podiensis in France. The first 10 days from Le puy to conque were tge best I've done di far. Wait until you see the vlogs. If not the Portuguese coastal route is super nice and flat until Galicia
@@Walk_with_Efren thanks for the quick reply. I almost purchased your Portuguese route. Is Podiensis Route the same as the Sarria route? Oh boy, so many options...When will I get to watch your experience there? Can't wait. Is the Frances route more scenic? I'm so pumped to go on this adventure.
I'm currently editing the camino de San Salvador then I'll work on the primitivo and finally by the end of the year I should start posting the via podiensis.
Okay, so when you say that first climb 'gets hairy', like... how does it compare to the walk over the Pyrenees or O'Cebreiro? I just got the time off of work approved today! Hope to be there end of September. WOO!
Hi Efren, great video as always.! Question, I’m heading to Spain to do a mini camino in June, do you think two days is a Enough to walk from Pontevedra to SDC? Of course sleeping one night around Padrón. If I understand you well, you said that the spiritual detour takes the same time than keeping straight ? (Where your friends went) Your comments will be very appreciated.

Just a steady climb. Doable. Just take your time.
So helpful, Efrén. Where can I connect to the Vlogs? Is available for this part? With gratitude.
Yes it's on the playlist tab

Your comments will be very appreciated.
That's usually done in three days but if you push yourself you can do it. It all depends on your physical ability.
Efren, this is at the same time you did the coastal at the portuguese? You did both ?
yes, I did the coastal until Redondela where it meets the central camino and then at Pontevedra I took the variante Espiritual to Padrón.
