Asked me a couple years ago if it was possible i would’ve said never 😅 it’s crazy how far this has come. Can’t wait to push this platform more and thank you for the support 🙏🏽
Glad to see yall going strong and consistent still. You guys have officially convinced me to max out the 2.0 Aero 9-3. You definitely give a v8 LS guy hope to learn these cars and wake them up! Much love and support from Atlanta GA🙌
There’s a guy in some Facebook group who swapped the XWD drivetrain into one of these. Apart from the fabrication, I can totally see it being doable by others. I think that’s all one of these convertibles could be missing!
@@Nathan_Jay I think all you need is the bottom panels of the chassis mounting or at least be able to fab them, the rest would be the complete rear subframe, fuel tank, the differential, and the driveshaft. I remember reading that saab did not include it on the convertible because of the rear suspension geometry but it seems it was possible and probably a cost issue.
Its like music 🙏you build real power in these Saabs its a joy to see.. Keep up the good work 👌🦸♀️🦸♀️.. The weakest part in saab are transmission... I am impressed it still works in that car.. 😁🙏
Haha thank you man appreciate the love 🙏🏽 and these F40 transmission are more robust than the older stuff. These don’t start breaking until you start going up to the 650-700hp territory
Wooo booooyyy. "Fastest vert Saab" maybe still running. A guy that used to work on my car had a 650whp '02 9-3 vert. It was scary fast in that chassis. He had roll cage bars in the back seats to stiffen it up a bit. But man, the torque steer in that car was other worldly. Since it was only FWD, it could spin tires all the way thru 3rd doing 80+ mph. That car was parted out about 8-9 years ago though as the guy said it was barely streetable due to the turbo lag in it with the big ass holset it had on it lol.
He needed the tizzy in it haha. I barely notice any lag in this thing as I hit boost at 3500rpms and it holds all the way till red line. But yeah not many ppl pushing the platform only a handful. Wish more ppl did it cause it’s one of the cheapest platforms to make power.
@@prolificbuilds He was making that power on the 2.0L, not the v6. That's the reason for the turbo lag with a massive holset off a turbo diesel truck lol. But ya, not many people do work on the v6's that's for sure.
Nice video again! My saab 9-3 keeps consunes a lot of coolant it is pretty weird. Just these past few weeks. Besides that the car is running fine, but today i noticed some smoke. I will fill it up and take it for a drive this engine has driven 285.000 km so i would also say it has done its job :) it's probably tired. But i hope it is just a hose. I could also be the waterpump or the radiator. What do yall think?
@@prolificbuilds The exhaust and i when i checked this morning it was empty and there was a a spot of coolant on the front left side it think it is the water pump
@@prolificbuilds But i am thinking about also upgrading to the 2.8v6t this 1.8t is quick but nog fast. Especially after seeing what you guys build i have to upgrade :)
Yooo how big of spacers did you use? And did you need to have the fenders bent? I have the 4 cylinder version and wanna do some simple mods, yours looks so nice.
I know you guys like to run the 9-5 coils at times. Not sure if your currently running them but I will say the r8 coil swap is easy. Probably cheaper. Also will take more hp per cylinder. They might fly good enough with out retuning but regardless have him check it.
@prolificbuilds facts. Ill try looking them up and I'll send you links in ig. I don't it to mine. You only flip a couple of wires for the connectors. And boom plug in and roll. I didn't tune mine as im stock. Does not miss a beat
@@MrMckenzie2403 well sh*t I’m done to swap em out on the vert as well cause I’m sure it’s time for some new ones. These have been on red fury now the vert so they pretty old haha
600+ is insane man!! Not many Saab's that have reached those numbers.
Keep it up! always looking forward to your videos :)

Been wanting to XWD swap my 2.8T vert since before I bought it...maybe one day I'll be able to.

Anything is possible man haha. If it was easy finding xwd parts I’d probably convert this one into xwd as well.

It sounds really quiet driving normally compared to Red Fury who is just a Tank at War.
