I had the same cam (S&S 465c; full cam chest kit) installed in my '21 RGS 114; S&S 2-1 Sidewinder (catalyst equipped), Fuel Moto/K&N 3956 Ventilator style air cleaner, Trask M8 checkvent, HD oil cooler fan, and tuned with Dynojet PV3b w/map by Fuel Moto. Ran perfectly, strong & early torque, excellent power everywhere and great mpg (46.4 at 65mph, 2-up).
For my new '23 RG-ST 117, I'm looking at the Redshift 472 and 468 cams (also considering not changing the cam in the 117, as it runs pretty well as-is, & fits my riding style). Already running the S&S 2-1 Sidewinder (Race Version, no catalyst) with dB reducer installed (for now), Trask M8 Checkvent, & HD Fan added to oil cooler. As I've had very good results with the Dynojet PV3b (for '21 & newer HD), leaning towards tuning with again, but adding the Dynojet TT-8 wideband sensors kit for the PV3b this time around.

It's a more aggressive cam. Of course it's going to have more 'lope', 'chop' whatever you want to call it. Live a little man, enjoy the power, rev it, and let 'er rip! Of course, all while respecting the law. Harleys have that 'lope' - stock M8s, not so much. One of the great best to upgraded cams is not only to get that Harley sound and choppy idle back, but for the performance gains. It just makes rolling on the throttle more satisfying, let alone passing traffic, getting out of trouble, etc.

I thought you had a stogy poking out of the corner of your mouth but realize it’s your mic. But I saw that and thought to myself’ this dude’s serious.’ Bike sounds good, trying to decide which cam is the right one for me. I’m really looking for the sound and that chop at idle. So for me it’s not really a performance consideration. (I have performance bikes for that.) I think my preference is torque over power. Torque is what squirts you out of the corners or makes a successful roll-on pass on the freeway.

Hello, It's me again. I have been thinking of your video and what your thoughts were on your motorcycle with the S&S 465 cam. It has been a long hard road for me getting my bike tuned properly. I have a 2022 SGS with a 114 CI motor. Install the S&S 465 cam with the D&D 2-1 header with the louvered baffle. The first tune was terrible, Bucking galloping in any gear under 2K RPM's. Took it to another place and we went with the TTS master tune and the bike runs great, couldn't be any happier. I can pull around a corner at 10 MPR in 3 rd gear and easier into it and no bucking. I really couldn't believe a tune did so much. Now we will check the fuel mileage and see what it gets, I told them I wasn't chasing HP numbers. I just wanted what was best for my engine and a smooth ride. HP was 107 and the torque was 126 and a blast to ride. I am enjoying the ride now and hope you enjoy yours also. The Milwaukee 8 is a nice motor.

Hello. That's a nice bike. I have a question. My motorcycle is fltrx which was shipped in 22 years. I usually run from 1500 rpm to 3500 rpm. What kind of camera is right for me? 475? 465?
Does 475 have a severe fever? I want to change the camera and feel the vibration and sound more shaky than the pure sound and vibration. Like an old bike. Is the 475c cam effective after 2500 rpm? Does the 465c cam have a good effect from 1500 rpm?
