Have not ever played its spiritual successor "Pure" (on 360 and PS3) by any chance?? :P Same studio dev team, but access to 7th gen horsepower. "Pure" is totally pure and right up there with the Motorstorm and Excite Truck series of insane off-road fun.
@@lordmaximus780 I quickly want to correct you, sir. Pure was technically the spiritual successor to ATV Offroad Fury 3 and 4 and Acclaim's ATV Quad Power Racing 2, as, Climax Racing made those three and Disney bought Climax Racing in 2007 and renamed it BlackRock Studios and released Pure in 2008. The MX vs. ATV series is a spiritual successor to ATV Offroad Fury 1 and 2, as, Rainbow Studios made them all.
Fr man grew up playing off-road fury 4 on my PS2 this my childhood right here I'm hooked on this shit because memories man this is how I found 30 Seconds To Mars
The Offroad Fury series is now 20 years old at the time of typing this. I still own all the games except Blazin' Trails and Offroad Fury for mobile phone (yes it existed). The soundtracks kick ass and the gameplay is still good. I do wish Fury 1,2, and 3 got a re-release for the PS5 to celebrate its 20th birthday, along with a Fury 4 "Special Edition" that includes artwork, promos, trailers, and other unlockables acquired via in-game challenges. Happy Birthday ATV Offroad Fury! Here's to 20 years of conquering the terrain!
Use to play this game with my dad when I was only young, the nostalgia I got from this was amazing. He couldn’t really play games well being blind in one eye and having pretty bad hand-eye coordination, but just knowing he tried to bond with me over something that I enjoyed is touching to say the least💜
Honestly, I still search the soundtrack from the game because this game was sooo good and I miss all the hours I put in this game and the fun I had. Watching gameplay hits me hard
The sound track made me love more the game and rock as well I would just free roam to listen just to the music as I got older Alice In Chains bender and many more has been my favorite ever since a kid and all I gotta say thanks to this game for the sound track for having me open up to more rock and searching more types of genres like Korn,Nirvana ,Stone temple pilots and more ! :)
I own all 4 games and I remember that I didn't really touch the first game a whole lot, except my friend and I would love to drive our ATV's off cliffs and hear the characters scream. It was so funny to us as kids. I spent most of my time with the second and fourth games, which seem more polished. I think the fourth game in the series is the best because you have four different vehicle types (ATV, dirt bike, buggy, and truck). The P2P mode in that game is so much fun, I'd spend hours completing tracks in the campaign so I could upgrade my vehicles and change how they look. These games are hidden gems IMO. I really wish that these games could be remade/remastered, but emulating them at 1440p on my PC works really well and looks great!
Same here man grew up playing off-road fury 4 on my PS2 this my childhood right here I'm hooked on this shit because memories man this is how I found 30 Seconds To Mars
I would load the Canyon level and find this building with a staircase and just do 5-0 grinds, Nosegrinds... Pretty much treated the ATV like it was a skateboard lol
ATV Offroad Fury was one of the very first games I ever owned (along with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and Tarzan Unleashed). Never got very far in it in regards to unlocking stuff but I spent so much time driving around the open sandbox levels. They felt massive, almost endless, and you'd always stumble across cool locations you wouldn't think you'd find like a ghost town or an asteroid crater. I always like racing the train in that one level that took place in the forest.
hell yeah isolate by bender. i dont know if its necessarily my #1 favorite song in the game but it was the biggest surprise for me, going in i knew the tracks from aic, soundgarden, primus, sevendust etc. but isolate made go yooo wtf is this thats good shit
I remember figuring the pre loaded suspension out very fast on this game when I was a kid and having hell trying to explain hot to do it for my best friend. I freakin loved this game. Probably thousands of hours of playing this game.
In case you didn't know, here's something thst may shock you. Rainbow Studios is one of the few development teams that can say that they were a first-party developer for both Microsoft AND Sony. Motocross Madness was released in 1998 only for Windows PCs, and its sequel followed suit in 2000, months before the Playstation 2 released.
I was so good at this game. I used to destroy people online. If there was such thing as ranks back then I'd be near the top. I very very rarely lost in freestyle online
I used to play this game all the time when the ps2 first came out. It www the first time I ever saw and open map type game. I just roamed around the map all day hoping grand theft auto 3 was gonna be similar or better
I was familiar with Rainbow Studios due to their Motocross Madness games on PC. I had this close to launch as well as Splashdown, later, on original Xbox.
My first game was the sequel to this (ATV Fury 2), and I tried motocross madness 2 (an older rainbow game) and it’s kind of fascinating to see the progression of rainbow studio games, though after reflex it seemed like rainbow studio’s games went downhill since reflex (which I only appreciated it years after release). EDIT: BTW, ATV Fury 3 and 4 were developed by Climax instead of Rainbow.
I wanted and begged my dad for a quad when I was 10. Now at 29 I'm still waitin..waiting... but I did get a chance to ride a friend's banshee...before he sold it
Si entiendo jaja. Ya pararon de vender los discos hace mucho tiempo. La única forma de comprar esto son discos usados en Amazon o otro sitio por Internet

ATV Offroad Fury Pro, essentially the PSP version of 4, had Snowmobiles and Rally Cars too.

Very good review I will look into playing ATV Off-road Fury
Me and my brother used to explore this game together when we were little.

I became a sevendust fan from this game...
Btw, old games like these had badass soundtracks... everything these days is just some pussy ass pop or rap. Love early 2000s rock lol
This game is more realistic than the newer versions
I used to purposely try to go out of bounds on the free roam maps just to fling myself for fun

Gta 5 does have atv’s and custom races you can create so that’s probably the next best thing
