What an excellent little clip of how to anchor off of a tidal shore! I frequently go camping on a salt water island, and having your boat end up high and dry is a reality. I am absolutely going to use this technique. I can't believe I've never been shown it before. Thanks again!

Stus the man, he's the master of fire, beer, competence, understanding, technique, and ability.
Also found himself a pretty nice place to live and work.
The man really is a genius.
No wonder his sense of humour is outstanding.
    Love your work man.

Capitan Stu; looked like your First mate Eddie wanted to hang with you. poor pup !!. You got me laughing when you need to get supplies and you did A beer. That is some beautiful scenery you showed. You have a great system to make life peaceful and serene. Thanks for the tour Mate, see you on the next one. If you feel the want to do another one of these, that would be ok with me. Keep on Green Machining......

That's a great tour Stu. What a lot of overseas folk won't realise, is how brave he was walking alone in the bush in drop bear territory. If you do visit Oz and go bush walking, please always take a whistle and something to flash sunlight off, like a mirror or aluminium / stainless steel polished metal. That sound St pointed out wasn't actually a drop bear noise, it was a bird call (he was joking - that's his dry humour), but if you hear something that sounds like wind blowing through the trees, or a sort of bark or coughing sound, watch out for drop bears. A lot of tourists are scared of our highly venomous snakes and spiders, but it's the drop bears you have to worry about.

I've only discovered your exceptional channel in the past couple months, so all of this might be addressed. You strike me as a fella who lives a sort of MGTOW lifestyle? Boats, motorcycles, dogs, self reliance, etc. If so, I'm doing the same up here in the U.P. of Michigan and very much inspired by your episodes. Thank you for making do with what you have instead of always pushing people to spend money and hire out labor. You have a natural "you can do it mate" vibe. God bless you sir ;)

Small island with no cars allowed there either, it's kind of special if you've never experienced it before. Hi Stu, just finished watching this video and have your last two to watch yet. Love the location your at. So much different from ours here in the northwest USA. Got snow yesterday and was the earliest since 1972. Skiers are pumped. Going back to work has been interesting these past two weeks but good that it's only through March next year then back on retirement. They have me installing hydraulic tubing on the 777. Love working with my hands so this is nice and the days go by fast. Good thing is I will finally have the money to get the Starcraft out next year on the water and make some videos. Like your change of pace. We all need a break to recharge now and then. Keep up the good work. Tim

    Hi Stu,
Thanks for the tour. Been in that little cove where the waterfall is a few times myself. There used to be the remains of a dwelling near where you tied up last time I was there, that was about 35 years ago or so. The Auntie lived directly across from that cove on Dangar. Sort of mid way along the northern side. I always say that once you are in those bays etc along that stretch of the Hawksbury you feel like you are a million miles from Sydney. You bought back a heap of memories with this clip.
I have to agree, there were nearly too many people on that beach, I hate crowds too. LOL
Our beaches up here near Crescent Head are about as crowded as that one, even in high summer. Many thanks, Bruce.

An old mate of my fathers owned a place on Dangar also. His name was Ted Tiedman and if there are a few of the old timers left on the island they may remember him. He owned a big old place there which had closed in verandas and he had it for many years up till around the late Eoghties I guess. It was on the northern side somewhere near the bowling club perhaps a couple of properties closer to the public wharf but back off the water on a rise.. My last trip there was to do some plumbing on some renovations he was doing there. That would have been in early 85 I think as it was after my fathers death in late 84 and before we the end of 85 when we quit Sydney for Kempsey.
My Uncle and Aunties name was Gibson and her sons name was Ron Reynolds, being from a previous marriage. Some there may remember. Cheers, Bruce.

Hey there Stu, I used to live on the island in the 80's in my 20's and early 30's. So good to see it again and some of my favorite river spots too! - I haven't seen the place since 1988 but I am seriously thinking I might move back one day .... probably to retire. A fantastic spot!

I think it is the perfect place to retire, I know several people that have returned at that stage in their life.

Hawkesbury River and your island are quite reminiscent of the river that I spent cruising on a ChrisCraft for many summers. The major difference is the salinity -- the river I cruised on emptied into the Mississippi about 12 miles downstream . More iron than salt in the river. Closest we have to an ocean is Lake Superior -- about 100 miles to the north . Enjoy your channel very much .

Very nice tour video! I liked it a lot. From my perspective you live in a paradice, hi hi. I live in Finland and we don't have palms and warm like that over the year, palms melts my heart. A lot of the year is boring rain, dark and cold. Some snowy bright days too. But our nature is quite beautiful too when it's summer time. I wish I have time (and remember) to film a little video like this for exchange so you can see where your subscribers live too. :) Thanks for this great channel, I've had good info and courage to fix my -89 20 hp Johnson 2-stroke! Cheers...

Missed seeing the walk around Danger Island which I've done several times and much easier than climbing up a rugged terrain as you did in this video and still lovely views.
