This may be a strategic move provided she's healthy enough to participate in the 200M. The 200M comes up later, giving her more recovery time.
My thought is that Shericka is not in her best shape. It’s been obvious. Remember last year at worlds Franno said he didn’t realize that running through the rounds in the 100 would have taken the toll it did on her 200 performance? That means both her and he thought she would have broken the record.
So I think in the interest of caution, she is dropping out of the 100 for 2 reasons. Avoiding aggravation of any physical issues and also to save her legs to do her best in the 200.

How is that even possible. You can take the top 3 and two additional sprinters. Who finished 4th and 5th at your trials in the 100m? Also, they are bringing 3 200 meter sprinters. The only sprinter who was doing a double was Shericka? Correct?

I suspect that Sherica is healthy; however I think it’s the best decision to not put her better event at risk-given her recent injury encounter. After doing those three 100m rounds those legs are going to be vulnerable…the 200 rounds will start the very next day after the 100s. I would not advise her to set up herself like that.

To be honest l kept wondering how Sherica, carrying an injury, would manage 6 races, possible 7 with the 4×100m. Very sorry about this but not completely surprised. Hope she will be fit enough to give us a medal in the 200m, gold would be a big bonus. Wishing her the best. Even if she doesn't medal, still lots of ❤❤❤❤

T, The public ain't misled at all by Franno's lies...Everyone knows she is not 2023 fit...Franno and Shericka let her self go with poor diet and then tried to get fit to late in the season...She does not want to compete in the 100m because she is not 100% and wants to win the 200m gold...She cannot beat Sha Carri at this point in a 100m and she still thinks she can take down Gabby in the 200m...I think both Gabby and Alfred will clean her up in a 200m at Olympics...Lets hope she can come back to herself in 2025.

Last minute decision take 1X1 - Shecarri Richardson, Gabby Thomas Shelly-Ann Frazer Pryce; why not me - Concentrating on my favourite 200M. I will not able to better my world championship time but I need the energy to ensure I have the Gold at this level of my career - concluding at an Olympic if I am able to make it.
People, I am just saying; that is what she thoughts and best for her career - not anything else.

Doesn't this seem familiar? Didn't the same thing happen with ETH? ETM dropped out of the 200m, then the 100m. Now miss Jackson is out of the 100m. Would she drop the 200m? I think she will or should i say she should, or face embarrassment or injury or both. The fact is, i wouldn't be surprised if she opted out. The much storied mvp coach had alot to say when ETH got injured, lets see what happens. But for me, i want her to win the 200m with a new OR time.

I think thats the best decision for her , we don't know what the athletes are going through. We need to accept their decision and let them be themselves and not just an athlete because we wont be the ones sitting and taking care of them when they push themselves too much just to please Jamaican people. On an optimistic note: Maybe Shericka just wants to focus on going for a world record in the 200 and knows that going through all the heats for both the 200 and the 100 will limit her chance to accomplish that.

Shericka is still learning the 100. Her pet is the 200 & very competent in the 400. IMO she feels like she may not be able to win the 100, therefore she’s leaving it up to Shelly & Tia the 100 specialists.
She handily beat the 100m specialists at the trials though. If any of the three Jamaican ladies who could have or can win the 100m in Paris, it would have been Shericka.

The only reason why she would choose not to compete is because she is not 100% healthy. She knows how she feels, her coach doesn't. Stephen Francis did not say she was 100% he said she looks ok to him and that her medical team would be in a better position to give a more definitive answer. Clearly she is having some injury issues which we all suspected long ago but were hoping for the best. I can now see Tia coming in as a real factor.
