Great video thanks! I've just set up a Sig BDX 4.5-14 on my Kimber Hunter in .280 Ackley Improved and paired it with the Kilo 1800 rangefinder. Planning on getting some range time in the next couple of weeks then I'll be trying it out on some Fallow deer on a property I shoot on.
I Bought the Sig Sauer BDX Sierra 3 Paired With The Sig Sauer Kilo 1800 works great 200 yrd 400 yards 16mhp wind no compensation no problem AR10. 308 definitely recommend 👌
Got the binoculars/range finders last fall. Absolutely incredible, compared with my buddies zeis neither of us could tell the difference. Got the bdx scope this year. Not sure I’ll ever use the Bluetooth stuff, but the optics are great! Something just doesn’t feel right about electronics to hunt not much different than a drone. Anyhow, sig optics are amazing!!
I believe this is the same system that the Born and Raised Outdoors fellows are using! I’m in AZ, is it possible it will be outlawed here? I don’t want to make a large investment to have to put it away!
Chase, Just bought the bdx but havent gone to the range yet. Do you still need to do traditional zero at 100 yards or does this sytem automatically calculate ? Just curious It says ready right out of the box. Thanks
Hi Jennifer, you will still need to do the traditional 100 yard zero. And then you will pick which category your cartridge falls under in the app. From there it’s pretty easy. Let me know if you need any help!
I just bought the BDX system and mounted the scope, should I zero it before I pair it with the range finder ? or can I go ahead and pair it and then zero it ?
It illuminates a windage dot on the horizontal part of the reticle, but is does not carry down to the elevation hold. You have to do a little guess work.
Hey Chase, recently purchased a BDX 4.5-14x50 scope and rangefinder. Would you recommend the binos as well? They’re pretty expensive but I could definitely see how they would help in the field on the fly
This is Kevin, just my two cents. I love the binos, for rifle hunts because of how stable you can be with them. It’s easier to get a good range with two hands holding them, I love mine and strongly suggest getting them
what model is this scope? i know it’s the BDX ,but when i look them up there are like 5 different ones . I have a tikka 7mm and wondering which one i should get?
Yes , after your target is ranged through their ranger finder with bdx system the scope has an elevation dot that appears with the correct hold for that range. Very handy
I really want this system but I would worry about how certain states will rule on this. Is it legal in all states? Or does this count as using “electronic devices” that aren’t allowed?
I realize you guys are likely sponsored by Sig but don't you feel that there is starting to be to much technology in hunting? At what point are hunting & woodsmanship skills lost to technology? The way things are going you'll be able to sit at the trailhead and shoot your quarry off of the ridge a half mile away without having to use stealth, physical conditioning, playing the wind, etc.
Hey James, glad to see you back man! No sponsorship on this one. We purchased the scope and rangefinder, and borrowed the binos from a friend. We agree with you that there is a thin line between technology being okay and too much. That line is different for everyone, but this system doesn’t take away from the fact you still need skills to hunt and to set up an accurate rifle. Cheers
@@TheMountainProject thanks much for the response... was just curious about your take on that new system. You guys are great, love your channel. I need to order some more organic shirts.
Honestly systems like this are great because it actually in reality can make more ethical hunters, because the system insures that there is a higher degree of knowledge of your weapon and the ballistics of the round your shooting probably resulting in less wounded animals. There will always be people pushing it at the risk of the animals which I’m right there with you people should always be evaluating what’s ethical and being lethal making 100% shots they have practiced and there are limits to what hunting is but anything the stops those same people from having no clue lobbing shots at a once in a life time buck at 600 with a old 4 power scope is a step in the right direction, the lethality of the user is still determined by their dedication to setting up their rifle, reloading, knowing their limitations and practicing which is half of hunting, the preparation, practice, and then then the actual hunting which is the other half the actual experiences. The scope also warns you if your pushing too far for your ballistics, if you’re hitting the ranges where your bullet doesn’t have ethical energy to kill your target. This is simple but not game changing I could still but together a scope using traditional ballistic gathering techniques, put a nightforce on a gun I worked up loads with and be hitting the same if not farther just as fast and properly more accurately so this isn’t exactly a range finding gun that kills everything you point at it to be fair it’s just another way to “skin a cat” they have range finders now that can detect and measure the wind to 5 hundred yards along with ranging the target to 5000 yards so I mean ranging a target and a dot showing up in your scope I think is probably just simplifying things.
@@88decor I do see you point and think that a system like this could make people more ethical hunters if used and applied correctly. My concern is that many will buy this system not put in the required practice and feel they can start taking shots that they shouldn't be taking. We have to draw a line somewhere on this stuff, not sure exactly where. What if this system also connected to your trigger and performed that function as well? I'm sure that will be next. Or may it will also connect to a bipod system and you can drive it right in on target with your phone. Many states have already outlawed this system so it seems they are feeling it's an unfair advantage as well.
I currently have the SIG BDX scope/rangefinder combo on my Texan .457 and my AEA Zeus .58 airguns. Love the accuracy it gives at various ranges.
Just bought the Sig Sauer Cross 6.5 C M I have the BDX rangefinder and the BDX scope. Thanks for the help on setting it up. Video was awesome.
Just bought a 28 Nosler with this system so I’m learning, thanks for the videos
I have that set up and it works great!!my friends 12 year old shot it at 800 yards he has never shot past 200 yards...his dad jaw droped.LOL.
It’s pretty fun!
Awesome system. Visited with the Sig guys at the Western Hunt Expo in SLC, Utah. I’d put it on my new rifle build that I’m planning 300 Win Mag!
I think you’ll like it

Awesome tips Chase keep posting can’t wait to see how you guys did in Mexico 🦌🦌🦌
Thanks Armando!
It's a good system. I"m taking my BDX2200 to Kyrgistan for Ibex. Hope it holds out in the cold weather
On my 280 Browning A-Bolt…great TN setup.
I have this system on my 7mm. Works awesome. Still takes some skill to make far shot.
It’s a cool system and you are right
Great video! Good shooting!
Thanks Aaron! We need to do some shooting in Oklahoma one day
Very interesting piece of tech. Do you know how large a caliber the unit is rated for. Keep the informative videos coming guys.
Thank you! Not sure what they rate it to. I’ll have to look it up.

Thanks Bill
Nice I would have loved to be out there this day. Not many ppl know this place and the ones who are great at not leaving their trash
It was sad to see how many shotgun shells were out there.

I have used the system it's great
I’m wanting to put it on my 257wby 🤘🏽
Do it!
Pretty cool !
Yes it is!

Did you have to correct the settings on scope to your group from 1when turned on to whatever ammo you used group 5 is mine

Zero it first 👍🏽
I have it on my 6.5 Creedmoor and on my CVA Paramount. Great system but it’s only as accurate as the data you input. I like it so far.
Exactly
@@TheMountainProject Does it calculate elevation, Barometric pressure, Angle to target or Coriolus
Yes it does
Thanks for the video. Can it illuminate where to hold windage too?
It illuminates a windage dot on the horizontal part of the reticle, but is does not carry down to the elevation hold. You have to do a little guess work.
@@TheMountainProject such an awesome scope

I put one on my savage precision ii in 270 win. But my rangefinder wont talk to my scope. There bonded as well and rangefinder is set to ABU
Hmmm. Have you tried clearing it out and re pairing
@@TheMountainProject i figured out i had to just turn off the ballistic reticle.

This is the Sierra3 6.5-20
thank you
@@TheMountainProject what rifle are yiu all using in this video ?
How's the tracking of sigs Scopes when dialing?
Haven’t tried it yet. This is the first Sig scope I have purchased and I’ve only played with the BDX. I’ll let you know when I try it.
Will this work with 22.250?
Yes it will 👍🏽
does this system adjust your aiming dot for you after you range the target?
Yes , after your target is ranged through their ranger finder with bdx system the scope has an elevation dot that appears with the correct hold for that range. Very handy
how will this system hold up to a 300 RUM.
You’ll have to try it yourself!
John Felix survives a 338 LM so far
placed a 5-30 sierra6 on a paramount 40 cal ML shooting 225 gr. with 105gr blackhorn ( weight not volume )
Solid combo
Sig M400 set up. Range Report soon to follow.
I really want this system but I would worry about how certain states will rule on this. Is it legal in all states? Or does this count as using “electronic devices” that aren’t allowed?
You definitely have to check with each state’s regulations. I’m not sure how the system is categorized.
Currently illegal in Idaho and Oregon, it’s on the chopping block in Arizona and California but legal at the moment.
It’s only a couple seconds of time savings over a chart/turret setup. And the BDX limits your distance.
Im using a 300 win mag I have 150 gr Hornady SST loads
