      Thanks! It’s a great fun build. No real issues besides my bed and rear fenders was warped but that’s it.

    I never would have thought of the "Toothpick" trick for fine details on the dashboard. Most of the time, I probably waste money on those extra fine detailing brushes. The problems that I've encountered with them were that they either soaked up TOO MUCH paint, ruining the job, or not enough. Sometimes, they might even scratch up the existing paint job.
    Thanks for the tips. Much appreciated.

    You know you could use oven cleaner or brake fluid or purple power to strip off all the Chrome that you don't want anything chromed. After it's the chromed run it through warm water and dish soap and wash it to get all the grime off of it after you strip all the Chrome off. I've never heard of baking powder for carpeting on a vehicle before go to Michaels or hobby lobby and get imposing powder they all come in different colors and use Elmer's white glue just brush it on to where you want to lay down your carpet and just sprinkle the imposing powder on top of it let it dry and then shake off the rest of it. Other than that I think your pickup truck looks awesome nice paint job

    Looks good like the baking soda tip , I used flocking before

    • @CustomScaleModels
      @CustomScaleModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The baking soda definitely works well in a pinch. I went and picked up some embossing powder for the cars though.

    Not to be picky but the C-10 & K-10 are the 1/2 ton chassis and this one with 8 bolt wheels is at least a 3/4 ton meaning it’s a K-20.
    Buffing out the Pledge is a great tip. The yellow really pops.

      Yeah I don’t really know much about the older Chevy/gmc truck platforms I have never worked on them besides I’ve rebuilt a few SBC engines. From the 1990 and up is where I’m knowledgeable with imports and domestic. I’m only in my 20s so you don’t see many of them trucks anymore.

    This truck wasn't an automatic. Back then the shifter was on the column. I had one it used to freak everyone out when I shifted gears

      Yeah probably 2-3inches nothing crazy. I’ll probably throw some mud tires on it and paint the cab army green.

    I have a question what type of air compressor/airbrush do you use

    • @CustomScaleModels
      @CustomScaleModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the central pneumatic 1/5hp air compressor and the Campbell hausfeld airbrush but I just recently upgraded to the iwata neo gravity fed

    • @raulcardoza2023
      @raulcardoza2023 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CustomScaleModels are you happy with that air compressor I’m looking to get one just looking around for a decent one to get started

    • @CustomScaleModels
      @CustomScaleModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually really like it. I haven’t had any issues with it. When I first started modeling I was using a 60 gallon shop compressor and I get the same paint results with the harbor freight tankless one. Some say the tank airbrush compressor are better but I can’t tell a difference honestly.

      @@CustomScaleModels thank you !

    • @CustomScaleModels
      @CustomScaleModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn’t really matter what compressor you use as long as you thin the paint correctly then it should go on smooth. I would but the iwata neo airbrush as well because it’s only $60 that’s only $30 more than a knockoff Chinese one or the iwata eclipse If the funds allow
