Just got back from the Truck & Tractor pulls, went into my local Hobby Shop and saw that kit on the shelf. 🙂 Grabbed it and really looking forward to the build!!! 👍👍
That was the spare tire carrier and gas can the two bubble lights were part of a light bar and the two braces were to the roof rack parts were from the sheriff's blazer and the first run of the blazer kit
🧑🏽🎨 it did popped out in my notifications, so i clicked on it right away 😅😁 I used to have a 1976 Blazer, K5 Oh so many memories.... 🤫 i lost my virginity in it 🥰
Very well done on the Chevy Pull Dozer Chris! I love the contrast between the Electric Pink body and gloss pink chassis along with that black! Excellent detail work!
open the box, ditch the decals and instructions cut the inner wheel wells, rear tank and get building! endless possibilities with this kit! Glad its been re issued.
I love your assembly and painting method. I always removed all parts and cleaned molding lines and did any custom work I wanted. Then primer everything and begin painting and detail painting everything and let dry for 2 days then I only clear coated the body. All is left is assembly and then decals. Giving the time I had it usually took 5-7 days to complete. My trick to assembling painted parts without glue ruining them was I used a toothpick. It takes such a tiny amount of glue.
Impressive build. Once again, it's about the details. However, and I hate to bring this up, but the driveshafts are the wrong shade of silver. It would be tempting to paint over them, but that would add a noticeable scale 3/16" in their size. So just strip the paint and primer and repaint - should be easy and will add a serious improvement to the build. Please be laughing about now. No joke - this is a beauty truck. Thanks again for sharing your works.
Found a bottle of Elmer's glue at dollar general that is crystal clear and can you tell me the review of the model with the metal injector stacks please thank you
Actually, the only parts you would need are the stock hood, seats, intake manifold, rear roof, and tires. The rest is still there. Or you could use the stock engine from the 76 Chevy Stepside. Easy conversion.
Just go source you the stepside you mentioned and the revell GMC Sierra tow truck molded in orange I realize it was a snaptite model but when you see the kit you'll know why it was suggested and they also sell a plow truck based off the tow truck
Chris this Blazer is actually based on the stock 1976, not 78, squarebody by Monogram. Most of the parts are there for a stock one except for the rear roof, stock hood, seats, and tires. I hope Revell will reissue the stock version again. We need a squarebody Blazer. Maybe retool a 78 grille as this one is a 76. Great build as usual. Already ordered one.
I built the same mad mudder molded in red I believe it was actually the ground pounder I was thinking it was a 78 it may have been a 76 but yes the cab and seperate long fleet side bed, but I think my favorite gm square body grille they have done so far is the 79 I think it is desert dunes GMC Sierra jimmy k15 with the removable half roof shell, and the custom hood and scoop and the revell snap tite 79 GMC Sierra tow truck is almost the same truck
And I believe I still have the green version art and body of the mad mudder I robbed the chassis for the GMC Sierra jimmy k15 desert dunes it got broken years ago and isn't one you could just find 10 years ago..
I was looking at that and thinking that there are companies that sell like a scaled down version of flatdeck style semi trailers so I'm thinking I would fairly easily converted into a neat example of the weighted pull sled!!
I built the actual mad mudder pickup truck with the fleetside bed it was a molded red 78 Chevy Silverado k10 model i bought from the Harmon's Chevrolet restoration parts shop in Geneva Indiana around 1992
I can understand the issues with the tripod gm stainless mirrors I built them for a 72 Chevy Cheyenne super truck kit I put together when I was in highschool and after a few years they kept falling off and I put the west coast mirrors from the 53 Ford truck on it
So beautiful.... Saw on at the hobby shop today but really don't think imma be able to build it or have time to :/ I might have to try and find someone who would sell an already built one any ideas where to look?
Fully understand that sir I had a 78 gmc High Sierra k15 with the silver painted ac bezel and dash pad applique plaque its actually the same black one trim outer lip in argent silver you find in the 78 Chevy k10 scottsdale i know because I had one of those two ..
Another cool square body truck is the 84 gmc k1500 its a short bed i believe it is also based off of the blazer and the original monogram chevy 76-79 fleet side pickup monster trucks it i believe is a ertyl kit though it is what was released and people made Fall guy decals for it, but if I build one im probably going to try to track down another one of the original 4 Chevy square body fleet side monster trucks or maybe reissue of the three that came out in the late 1990's one was pink, yellow and i think black.
Absolutely love your builds. I'm a beginner and with each model I try to get better at the hobby. I got one of these sweet kits and I have a 1/24 crawler and I wanna put this bad boy on it, any tips?
You just have to take the rc body off and hold the model body about where it will go so you can mark where the posts go thru the body to attach it to the chassis, I've made a garbage truck , and logging truck crawlers but in 1/10 scale
I think it’s a super cool kit and I’m sure sill be picking one up. On a disappointing side note, I can’t understand why they’d include 5 lug wheels in this kit. With that said, the Ground Hawgs look amazing! Another awesome, informative build, Chris.
@Earl Hollowell After receiving the kit I see they are different from the stock wagon wheels that were in the Monogram kit. The original wheels were very common in the 70s and were on many 4wd GM, Ford, Dodge and Jeep vehicles.
I have another truck that was a older kit they made a reissue version of one you all may want to track down as much as you like the mobeius bumpside Ford trucks it was the Firestone f150 4x4 i believe it is a 78 it may be a 76, or a 79 anyway it was a ertyl model..
Which both looks completely different from the 82 Chevy k20 Silverado silver brushed aluminum skin glued to the 81-84 ac dash bezel and dash pad panel applique..
I'm trying to recreate an accurate model of the truck my dad used to own (1973 Chevy Custom/10 fleetside longbed stock with inline 6 engine and 3 on the tree shifter in baby blue inside and out). I don't have the truck to go off of anymore for what it was like. Do you have any good recommendations for books that I could get that would have that kind of information in them along with pictures of the stock engines and bays (hopefully in color) and shots of the undersides that I could use as reference information for when I try to build one up based on a few different models? (Bonus if it has accurate measurements of the truck length, and truck bed, etc. so that I can figure out how to scale that down to match.) I acquired two of the GMC pickup with snow plow by Revell to start with. Although I won't be using the snow plow from them, I bought two in case they do not measure up to be long beds in scale and if I might have to lengthen the truck beds, the frame/wheel base/muffler pipes/etc. by chopping them up and adding the two kits together to get the correct lengths. It was my first thought to do, unless you've got a better recommendation to go with? I might see about finding someone's spare set of stock side mirrors from that '72 Chevy Wedge model you built up, and the steering wheel too, since those would match and the Revell models don't come with any mirrors that I'm aware of. I bought a 3d printed or resin printed correct '73 front grill and two versions of the inline-6 engine off of ebay. I'll worry about the belts, hoses, wires, battery clamps, hose clamps, other engine components needed, seatbelts, etc. later after more research as to what's missing and what I'll need to add to make it more accurate. I haven't decided if I would paint it up in the way of how I last remember seeing the truck with age, rust, wear, etc. or more like it was back when I was young. I'm still looking for the correct wheels for it but I might have to see about hiring someone to make those custom for me since I don't have a 3d printer nor the knowledge of making parts (yet). Any info you might suggest, I'd appreciate it! Thank you for sharing your builds, you're really fast and efficient with them, and this one turned out looking great!
Hey Chris I have a 1979 GMC pickup and the engine bay is black, well a very old dirty black but black none the less. so in my opinion a black engine bay is stock. LOL
Same kit as the old MAD MUDDER awesome kit awesome build
Just got back from the Truck & Tractor pulls, went into my local Hobby Shop and saw that kit on the shelf. 🙂 Grabbed it and really looking forward to the build!!! 👍👍
Right on dude
I look forward to your build, Tim. 🤟🤠👍
@@modelcars2978 🙂
I just ordered one but to build a stock Blazer that was missing a body and interior tub.
@@grb351 That's cool!!!
Damn it! Now I gotta buy this one and try and sneak it into the house. I think she's onto me!
you have great patience and a very steady hand
Looks Great!
One of your top Best!
Colors and Graphics Pop!
You did a great job with that one Chris, and it's true real men drive Pink trucks 👍👍
Ordered just seeing opener, didn't even watch video. Now, great video Chris keep em coming I'll keep watching.
I agree that the full instrumental music is calming and just perfect for the painting process.
I really hope they start bringing back these older kits
Those decals are absolutly amazing. It REALLY makes the kit POP! Great job!
I love this build and presentation Chris!! Your color choices are perfect!!
A big WOW from South Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
You nailed it great job
Love it,especially the piggy tail, nice build sir. Thanks for sharing.
That was the spare tire carrier and gas can the two bubble lights were part of a light bar and the two braces were to the roof rack parts were from the sheriff's blazer and the first run of the blazer kit
Great build up by the way....
Yup, thats true and the bubble lights were from the Sheriff's Blazer kit by Monogram.
Such a cool kit! Great build! Thanks for sharing.
That build is awesome 👍
Chris you're a beast. Your spray booth looks like my spray table for the cabinet parts I spray lacquer on.
I wish they’d reissue some ford 4x4’s like this .
This is terrific - great job on it.
I hope they come out with a stock version!
🧑🏽🎨 it did popped out in my notifications, so i clicked on it right away 😅😁
I used to have a 1976 Blazer, K5
Oh so many memories....
🤫 i lost my virginity in it 🥰
Thank You for doing this
Yo that is AWESOME!! I hope these don't sell out.
What an awesome build! Thank you for posting this.
Glad you like it!
Wow that is awesome, I just subscribed I’ll be watching for more I turned them into remote control 1/24 scale I’m watching now
Thanks, keep having fun!
Cool kit! Nice job Chris😎👍
Really nice build. I used to have an original Monogram Blazer Pulldozer years ago when it was a new model.
Awesome job Chris, cant wait to get my hands on this one
You must not drink coffee. You have a steady hand. That way you tint the sun roof, very cool
That's one cool looking pull truck.
Looks awesome 😄 thanks for sharing... cheers
Seen your show, called my hobby shop picked mine up and I rem. The older monogram kit I built , I still have some original parts from that kit .
Really dig the painting music 🎶👌🎧🎼🎨
I'm building this kit and it's coming along nicely 🎉 maracas 🎊 oh' la
Looks awesome!
Nice looking build sir! Almost bought but picked the Silerado!
Got mine in the mail today
Awesome always cool ride 😎
Another excellent build! Would have loved to have seen how you do the highly-detailed chrome bits like the rain rails, etc.
I love your assembly and painting method. I always removed all parts and cleaned molding lines and did any custom work I wanted. 😂
I’m going get one and build it up
DOING THIS ONE RIGHT NOW
Very cool👍
I had the older version of this kit the body was painted green on the cover
Great job as always, I found that cutting out the rubber inside the tires flush with the sidewall’s makes fitting the wheel the best fit for me
Very nice build of a nice kit. I really like the kit, but I would really like to build a stock Blazer. Thanks for sharing.
Wild paint job and tons of decals! My kind of kit! Just getting tired of that slow boat!
Are you gonna be doing a video of the new 99 Chevy street truck? Awesome build as always👍🏽
Found a bottle of Elmer's glue at dollar general that is crystal clear and can you tell me the review of the model with the metal injector stacks please thank you
For some reason I want to go to Puerto Rico.🤔
Great looking kits and build. I love that the bed is attached to the cab.🥓🥓🥓
It's a Blazer, it doesn't have a bed lol
A little kit bashing from the 76 Chevy pickup 4x4 & and it could by built stock
"you can't build a stock Chevy Blazer from this kit"
"challenge accepted"
You Can DDOOOO-IIIIITTT ‼️‼️👍🤣😂
Actually, the only parts you would need are the stock hood, seats, intake manifold, rear roof, and tires. The rest is still there. Or you could use the stock engine from the 76 Chevy Stepside. Easy conversion.

@@grb351 Are those wheel openings stock size?
Yes they are.@danlindsey3164
Looks like u could do a kit bash with the sister kit 77 gmc and get a stock blazer
Or the 76 Stepside.
Got 2 from store. I would drive the helll out of it. Lol
Built old version was a fun build then pull truck may pick one up to replace it
that monster truck came out gr8

Outlaw resin makes one

Kinda surprised you didn't go for a Rancho look to your shocks.
Hi Chris, when you paint black on the pink, how long do you wait before you add the next colour?
Another cool square body truck is the 84 gmc k1500 its a short bed i believe it is also based off of the blazer and the original monogram chevy 76-79 fleet side pickup monster trucks it i believe is a ertyl kit though it is what was released and people made Fall guy decals for it, but if I build one im probably going to try to track down another one of the original 4 Chevy square body fleet side monster trucks or maybe reissue of the three that came out in the late 1990's one was pink, yellow and i think black.
Another squarebody Chevy truck model kit this time 4x4 K5 Blazer Mud Puller it similar to the 84 Gmc Desert Truck model kit from few years ago

Because they're from the stock Blazer that we're already on the tree.
@@grb351 I get that but they're incorrect and never should've been included in a full-size, 4wd GM truck kit.

What is the brush on glue you’re using??
Plastruct Bondene
Which both looks completely different from the 82 Chevy k20 Silverado silver brushed aluminum skin glued to the 81-84 ac dash bezel and dash pad panel applique..
I keep seeing the glue lid and I want to know what glue are you using exactly HPI? It looks a lot better than what I am stuck with (testors tube glue)
Plastruct Bondene
Testors liquid glue in the pinkish glass bottle works just fine as well, so does Tamiya Extra Thin in the green bottle.
Is it easier to put parts together than paint I usually paint parts on trees n than assemble
