I used to pray for hikmah when I was younger, knowing I wanted to be like Yusuf (a.s) and Luqman but not knowing what it meant. My life went in a lot of downhill directions with a lot of mental health struggles the shaytan made use of but it all guided me towards becoming a mental health therapist and trying to help people who are struggling as I was. Hearing them talk about hikmah as the result of surviving and learning from difficulties made me cry. Allah was answering my prayers all along.

MasyaAllah brother, I am in the same boat. Most of the times we asked Allah for things unknowing of what it takes to get 'there'. I recently went for umrah and brought along my aging parents on wheelchair, with the niyah to be of service to them. Oh boy, Allah levelled me to indeed being one, masyAllah! It was a truly humbling experience which floored me and make me being extra careful of what I wish for by realizing that 'nothing is free, you need to EARN it'

For me - this is a divine proof from Allah that a person is authentic and genuine about Islam and its teachings _ the ones who cant admit when they are wrong are surely in the grip of shaitaan .... after all, even after not bowing to Adam A.S, shaitaan could not see or admit to his struggle/mistake and he is commited to making us feel the same.

Subhanallah. I’m only half way through, but practicing Islam 2 years in, I was struggling so much with cognitive dissonance of what Islam teaches us to do/not to do verses what we face day to day and struggling to implement these rules. I even booked a lighthouse session due to these thoughts, but.. this video made me connect so many dots, especially hearing about Prophet Yusuf (as) struggle with obeying Allah (I teared up), and also how we don’t have to be so black and white/stern with others not obeying Allah - we should prioritize reasoning and wisdom. Allahu Akbar.

Absolutely beautiful podcast Alhumdulillah. Brothers Usthad Nouman and Hamza speaking about the dark times in their lives and the sheer learning and wisdom they could derive out of it, the bit about empathy and right away for Dawah is so relatable. Such jems Masha'Allah. Brother Hamza is amazing as a guest and equally amazing as a host, teaches you how to be a good listener as well. Too good Masha'Allah and Usthad NAK is an encyclopaedia of Qur'anic knowledge.
Subhan'Allah it's humbling and quite frankly scary to be in times of such great scholars all around and the internet. One just doesn't have the excuse of "we didn't know, we weren't told" on the judgement day.
    Thank you for this. Jazak'Allah

Then as the conversation evolved in an articulate flow of relevant topics, I loved how they were both complementing each other(emboding the beautiful emotional human engagement) to genuinely trying to present the nuanced essences of the balanced, humanistic, universal & dynamic nature underpinning the Islamic worldview.

I would add to what Brother Hamza said about people not showing empathy in Dawah and just explaining the different arguments on why Islam is True. I would say that the converse is also true, sometimes you need those arguments as well. Because I remember in my earlier days, my local masjid khutbas used to be all about Iman, Kindness, charity, etc. but nobody talked about these arguments on why Islam is true, that`s actually how I first discovered Br hamza, Speakers Corner and Mohammed Hijab, etc. I absolutely love your legendary interview with Lawrence Kraus.

A very, very important and deep discussion!
Lots was touched on, but my favorite part was the advice for the social media, gotchya dawah.
It is so cringe watching some Dawah tables purely exist to score points, rather than genuinely trying to convey the Haq, and save the other person.
I understand that talking to 1000s of folks can be challenging, but that's the prophetic line.

i always wondered what hikmah was and how gaining sufficient islamic knowledge could lead to hikmah.
Brother NAK , jAk kaseeeeran for talking about the difficult phase of your life in a dignified manner. Dark times is to teach us, make us stronger, rely on Allah swt more. i truely take inspiration from how you dusted yourself from your unbelievable pain and abyss of grief, got up and continued inviting people to Allah SWT , because it was just so easy to give up then. i always wondered about this , it is a lesson for anyone struggling really, may Allah swt forgive us.
A very thought provoking episode, may Allah swt grant us beautiful manners, hikmah, and ikhlas🤲
