Nobody in the establishment wants people to think a selfless vigilante outlaw can ride off into the sunset and escape the noose or the bullet even if they themselves believe it. It happens it's rare but I have seen it happen in the modern world to friend of mine who died in a hospital bed instead of a cage.

Now they are saying he got all of it out of some movie in the 40s. I wish he would have said it in front of his wife.He was no worse than anyone else when the sheriff is 9n your enemy side and the gun down a good friend tunstall no worse than anyone else. If brushy bill sought fame and fortune then I could see how he could be seen as a possible conman but, he didn't do any of that, he was sought, and all his accounts prove to be accurate.... so if he wasn't Billy he was witness to some amazing events!!! He contradicts known historical supposed facts of the time, only to be proven correct in time... For me that would be more than sufficient to stand up in court!!!

Something to keep in mind when regarding Mr Roberts storyline.
In the timeframe of these pioneers, it was virtually impossible to substantiate anyones story and you truly had to take people at their word until Time or Facts caught up with them to suss out their Lies. from the Truth. Given that reality MANY men inflated their backgrounds, invented their backgrounds or OUTRIGHT LIED about their backgrounds. People STILL do it all the time even today.
I believe he lied and it would be literally impossible to prove or disprove given the fact that no one knew what Billy Looked like so they didn’t know any better anyway until it was too late. Also, it was a great “con” because even IF the caught him as Billy the Kid he could then come clean and say “No No you have wrong man, my name is Mr Roberts”

I agree a 100%, that is one thing I hate about so-called debunker's, because if you take a position as a debunker, you're not taking a position as an objective investigator.
This is the problem I have with the UFO topic, it's a very huge massive complex topic spanning over 80 year's, and if you really dive deep into it, there's a lot of compelling evidence, and yet self-proclaimed debunkers love to cherry pick and ignore one thing while addressing another, or they switch it around.
They play a game of moving the goal Posts.
If you prove one thing wrong or point something out that is a fallacy on their end, they simply pivot and jump to something else..
For decades, they said the very concept of ufos for example was nonsense, then several years ago the government officially makes a statement that they are in fact real and penetrate US airspace, and now they pivot and immediately start making other objections when they said the very fact they exist in the first place was nonsense and conveniently ignore that the US government admitted it, something the government proclaimed was an illusion and didn't exist for decades....
Whether it's this topic, history, take your pic.
the mentality of debunkers is inherently flawed and it's absurd.

The reporter disappeared the next day and was never heard from again... Locals in Fort Sumner relayed that story to me 50 years ago. That had been passed down by their older relatives. They knew the truth. The "grave" is not his real grave.
Ask about a flood that flooded the cemetery and disturbed many coffins. A lot of coffins had to be re-buried, with no idea of was actually in the coffins. So they just guessed and redid the grave markers.

I just came across your channel; interesting presentation. I heard about this back in 1981, from a true historian, and conspiracy revealer, Ralph Epperson.
Ralph, spent his lifetime researching, uncovering, and exposing the deceptions perpetrated throughout US history. He published his own books, and made his living giving lectures wherever he was welcome.
I trust Ralph's work, completely. I don't know if he ever wrote a book on Billy, last I saw him, was in 2004 or 05, but he certainly had a lot of the same details you present here.
I'm going to watch your other videos, and see if I can order your book. Thank you for producing this; the controversy of Billy The Kid, I imagine, will live on forever.
The real question is, why has the gov, refused to allow any testing to be done on the contents of the supposed grave of Billy? Of course, it's too late now, because the bones were washed away in a flood, but what about tracing family DNA? Well, my thought is that there are too many people who still profit in one way or another, off of Billy's story.

In 1879 my great uncle, part Native American Apache, Cherokee, and Basque, became very close to Billy and he and his girl, a pretty Mexican/Indian, who was an awesome cook, was told by our great uncle to stay away from the Territory, because the Murphy boys and "that fool sheriff, Pat Garrett" were following the wrong Billy The Kid. They were following a friend, follower, and look alike of Billy, they were watching, like the idiots they were. Pat Garrett was so frightened of Billy, that he had no problem burying the wrong body, and claiming it to be Billy's. Billy let it be know that he was going to possibly kill Pat Garret, and his buddies, for shooting a good friend, who was like a look-alike brother of Billy's, but Old man Maxwell, and his daughter talked Billy out of it. Billy and a few friends headed South where they had a stronghold at a small, but well armed town, that loved Billy, and would have taken up arms to protect him. Billy fled for the mountains, got married, and became a town Marshall, farmer, and would hang with his old friends once in a while, but eventually legally changed his name to Bill Roberts, later to be named Brushy Bill. Hildago said that Billy went with him to the Middle East, where they made lots of money off their famous horse race. Also, Billy, not Hildago raced a Mustang horse in a huge dessert race, and won!!! When Brushy Bill came back, he still had all the same scars Billy the Kid had, and the same smile, and voice. That's what is in our Family History, with old photos, that our grandpa would not sell. Billy was very Religious, and was a good and loyal husband, father, and grandfather.

We have them about my grandfather and great grandfather who were supposed to be indian. Supposedly my great grandfather made his living with a gun. I've come to believe it's all bullsh!t. Along with a whole bunch of other tales. I do believe they were bot very mean and bad men. I've found proof of that. But not all the other stuff. Anyway dont let others crap on your stuff. Even billy the kid knew other people than just the names given here. You could have the timeline wrong or other things. After all the story has been told for more than a century! Share it with your kids it's a good story but let them know how old the story is and that people could have added or forgot parts. I live in the area around the country where the Taylor/ Sutton feud accured. I've also been to the town and cemetery where the Dailyville massacre occurred. I live literally 20 miles from the place and was friends with the old man that owned the property the cemetery was on. More people died in the Sutton/Taylor feud the Hatfields and McCoys. Also more people died in the Dailyville massacre and it was worse than the OK corral. We dont pick the written history. Educated people pick what they want you to know. Look up Helena Texas. He said one of the peculiar thing about the U.S. is the use of "Mc" and "O'" prefixes before the surnames here. He said they don't really use that in Ireland (especially for women!). He said that one of them means "son of" and the other "grand son of". So it really cracked him up when some girl was named "Molly O'brien" or something (Molly GrandSON of Brien?). When or why this convention was changed, or how it was used differently over the years, might be the source of the confusion.

It's hard to argue against it because if applied in a different context like a murder trial, almost everyone would look at a 93% facial recognition match and have no problem putting a man in prison for the rest of his life. If we already apply the belief of this science within our judicial system, then this should be sufficient for people on this issue. Also the way he acted when he was ready to come clean does not strike me as evidence that he was lying, which was the dismissive narrative that came from that event. The guy was digging up memories, and opening back up a life he had left behind decades ago. He had a stroke ( or heart attack, I've heard both) not long after that happened. And I would bet anything that it happened because of all the stress, fear, worries and whatever else he had on his mind, because he made the decision to come clean. The detail in which the man spoke of things had people convinced he was at the very least someone who was in that part of N.M during that time period. So what are the odds of someone fitting the type of person, with the right knowledge, then getting a 93% confirmation on facial recognition, and not be Billy the Kid? Idk but I sure wouldn't bet against it.

The evidence highly suggests that Mr Roberts had very detailed knowledge of the events and time. Very compelling. I’m not willing to say that he definitely was the Kid but I certainly wouldn’t discard his claim altogether. Whomever he was it’s obvious he had at least second hand if not first hand knowledge which indicates he was very likely to be present during that time at least.

I’d love to believe Billy the kid survived, that he went on to live a long life and I’m fairly certain he wasn’t killed when history would have us believe. I’m just not convinced that Bushy Bill is Billy the Kid and he may have had good reason to claim he was a fan who just wanted to get Billy that pardon he was promised before he died.
Where I struggle to accept it is down to the photographic evidence that exists of the only truly accepted photo Billy. Sure it could be that Bushy is old and that’s why he looks so different, that his teeth had been removed changing certain aspects of his mouth. His ears being wrong could be because humans ears don’t stop growing as does the nose. I could give it the benefit of the doubt had that been just it. What really makes it difficult though is seeing a he only definite photo of Joseph McCarty, Billy’s younger brother. Taken a couple of years before his death. In that photo it’s clear me that he is Billy the Kids brother. The resemblance is clear in all areas. But he looks nothing at all like Bushy. How could Joseph keep some pretty distinct family features but Bushy retains none?

The character, Brushy Bill Roberts has fascinated me since seeing the film Young Guns II. Until that film I had never heard of either him or his story.
Strangely, at the time of that film's release I was employed as an internet engineer and was busy designing the internet that's carrying the data I'm writing.
Somehow that strikes me as terribly ironic.
Listening to the evidence presented there's little question that Roberts was Billy the Kid. Which makes that tale nearly supernatural.

You don't have to memorize the truth. It's not likely this 90 year old man memorized all of these details from books and got all the facts right; about who was where and what happened, about the layout of these homes and buildings. And what for? To get a pardon and pretend he was Billy the Kid for a couple years, at the end of his life?
It just doesn't make sense _why_ he would make all this up and how he would commit all of this to memory.
Now if he had experienced all of this, then it would make sense as to how he knew all of the details.
Also I recently found an old copy of Pat Garrett's book and it is full of way more inaccuracies than Brushy's version of events. So this random old guy knew Billy the Kid's story, better than the former friend and sheriff who hunted him?

Bill Roberts was Billy the Kid without a shadow of doubt.
Billy was always shrewd and brave NOT STUPID. Is going to swear to murdering Olinger and Bell BEFORE OR AFTER he gets a pardon? Is he going yap himself into 50 years at 89, 90 years of age? Not in your life. They got him on the spot with Garrets the tree climbing toddler of folly ( or perhaps giving him a chance to restart as in fact did ) sons and victims kin also were there.
If he had outlined how slipped manacles and cracked Bells nut to reverse his side arm all hell would of broken loose when he was expecting a Governor not a posse; and he had already seen just how honest the system and their Masse Onnico insider traders are as de facto adherents to Lucifer and the Greenman (green from purification not vegetation) I’d of played it exactly as Bill did too. You can tell it disappointed him not to die pardoned because it damn well killed him. Men can’t as easily fake tears like women can; at least I can’t, and I have lost my dearest creatures before God.
He had no choice but to do exactly as he did at that hearing with those duplicitous hidden handed traitors to the species. The lowest of men with all their self righteous facades all histrionic lies and sabotaging to true ethics.
The law they expect all others to hold sacred this monsters Coppers and Politicians will forsake in heart beat for Rothschild fairy money.

The only thing that kind of threw me off was that after the shooting of sheriff brady according to other historians, they said that after the kid was shot he ran back into tunstall's store and hid under the floor board and then sometime later he came out and got on his horse and rode out of Lincoln, but when other people saw him, they began firing shots at him which they all missed and once he was far enough, he got off his horse, turned around, tipped his hat, took a bow and then left into the hills. This was actually confirmed by a woman named Amelia Bolton Church who was there when the events took place and saw the kid escaping... but according to brushy bill, he states that after the kid was shot after trying to retrieve his gun from brady he ran and jumped back over the wall and got on his horse and road out of Lincoln....
So thats the only part that threw me off about the video...

It has been proven recently that that particular way of speaking if a hang up of how words are organised in Irish. Billy was supposedly tri-lingual when he first arrived, and understandably he must has stopped use when he went west as there were few speaking such a specific language.

Then drug through the mud with people claiming he was not who he said he was’ corruption does more to ruin people than anything else’ the media and papers of that time made him out to be a fool and he died broke and scared after a lifetime of looking over his shoulder’ a travesty that can not be forgiven and deserves to be told.

2 copies of the interviews were known to exist. The first set of copies were in the possession of Roberts' step-grandson, Bill Allison. These tapes were loaned to researcher Frederic Bean sometime in the late 80s. W.C. Jameson wrote a book about this set of tapes in the book, Billy the Kid: The Lost Interviews. When Bean had the tapes, he noted the poor condition they were in, primarily due to the manner in which they were stored. Nonetheless, he transcribed them and these transcripts served as the premise for the book that he and Jameson collaborated on, The Return of the Outlaw Billy the Kid. Following Allison's death, the tapes along with Roberts' trunk were taken by a family member. And from there no one knows what became of either the tapes or Roberts' trunk. As far as the 2nd set of tapes goes: I found a letter Morrison wrote just a few months before his death revealing the location of the tapes. Right before the pandemic hit in early 2020 I contacted the institution and was told they had several items donated by Morrison, and they believed they might have them and just had to figure out exactly where they were being stored. The pandemic forced us to temporarily pause in our search efforts, but I'm optimistic that sometime this summer or fall I'll be able to locate them...if they still exist. If I do locate them, I will put them up here on TH-cam. I do have a copy of an old recording of Roberts talking, but it's in extremely poor condition, and if I can clean it up a little I'll post it here on my channel. Thanks for watching.

@@brushybret Did Roberts ever talk of what happened the night Garret supposedly shot him?... Whose in that grave?... I find that it is more likely than not that this was Billy The Kid, in fact when all is considered I would be shocked if he wasn't.
