Great to watch Ben Johns - the guy has so many different shots - drives, dinking, inside-out, outside-in, ATP etc - his war chest of shots is amazing!!!
lol😂 they almost lost to the Johnsons trailing 4-10 in the third in the semifinal. Alw saved Ben's ass by speeding up to JW multiple times even when facing match points.
Does Ben play for bronze medals now or has he always done that for singles? I know in men's doubles he and Collin would just cede the match because it wasn't worth their time.
I think it's time he follows suit with the rest of the tour and stops using the backhand slice return. He sent like 5 of them sailing out of the baseline and is constantly giving Ben too much time to set up a shot.
The commentary for Ben Johns matches is so annoying. Sucking him off for his "hard serve" while only passively mentioning the barely 4 ft behind the baseline Tyson has to return and completely ignores the fact that Tyson is one of like 2 pros still slicing serve returns. Sometimes, I wonder if these guys even watch the matches.
Everyone’s talked about Tyson slicing serves, it gets repetitive. I agree that they should talk about the challenges of certain courts, but both players had to play each side, so it’s not unfair, it’s a part of the game.
@kendahomie yeah, it's going to be a topic of discussion until he changes it. It's obviously well outside of the meta and clearly not working for him in singles. Just because both players had to play on it doesn't make it fair. Neither of these guys wake up in the morning and say, "Damn. Better train my short returns on the serve just in case the PPA books a court with no baseline. " Doesn't make any sense lmao

Pretty wild that a full match is only 15 minutes of actual play
3:20 as soon as he missed that serve I had a feeling it was over. Can't kill your own momentum like that against Ben Johns
This was a Gold Final a year ago . . . 💦🚁
The pitch of Tyson’s paddle sounds so much different than the other Joola paddles this week. Does anyone know why?
Probably in process or has already delaminated gen 3 paddle
its the alpha gen 3 paddle - he doesn't have a paddle with joola before the new gen and the alphas are legal
10:35 the commentary analysis was not even correct here lol he was absolutely leaning towards where the ball was hit. The shot was just too good.
That commentator is constantly saying odd shit.
Anyone know what kind of paddle which Ben Johns used this match?
joola perseus gen 2
Sad to see the GOAT almost won no gold this weekend 😅
As long as he sticks with ALW he'll keep getting mixed golds 😀

Almost… nuff said.

I believe PPA has started fining players for not playing bronze matches so that might be why.
He's no longer the number 1 singles player. They get points based on their finishes, so I think he's trying to stay as close to Fed as possible.
Tyson’s forehand was off.
The Ferrari crashed 😂

He's also not using his signature paddle anymore (Gen 3 Magnus) because of the ban. Ben always used the gen 2 (his "gen 3" was a repainted gen 2).
