Trains Passing In Giant Railroad Yard! Railroad Switching Seen From Cliff, CSX & Norfolk Southern

Trains With DPUs And Trains Passing While Doing Railroad Switching At World Famous Coffey's Cliff At Norfolk Southern Railroad Yard In Chattanooga, Tennessee. Remote Control Locomotives Are Used While CSX And Norfolk Southern Trains Pass Through The 2nd Largest Norfolk Southern Yard. This Yard Also Has A Hump But It Was Out Of View. We also see the Railfan viewing amenities that include picnic tables, an office desk and the cliff itself with awesome views of the north end of the massive railroad yard. This is Debutts Yard which is named after Harry Debutts who was president of Southern Railway.
This is my first time to visit this yard. Coffey's Cliff is shown on Google Maps and is easy to find. An unmaintained lane leads to the cliff. The track closest to the cliff is a CSX line. Trains book through on this track at a good rate and if you use 161.370 you can get advance notice of northbound CSX trains approaching because they go over a defect detector. Other than that I didn't see much need for a scanner here.
I was able to get a couple of CSX movements on the closest track. I also got some run through NS trains including the gondola train with a DPU on the rear. Notice the remote control locomotives working the yard with the flashing yellow light on top. I rode here with Scott @1960gambit and we came back a couple of days later. This is the first video of mine from here and I will have another one soon. There is almost always a train moving although most of them move very slowly. On the last day that we came here we saw 4 trains moving at the same time.
This video also includes a fast CSX train knocking down the signal. That is railroad jargon which means the signal drops from green to red as the train passes it. We also made it to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. I will have a video showing that which will include a train ride and showing the turn table being used to spin a locomotive.
