this was my mum's favorite song, she passed away in March 2023, and this was the song at her funeral. you're finally a Punk Rocker with Flowers in your hair Mum ❤
I've never heard this song before today, April 2024, but bloody hell, she has sung everything i have thought about over the years. I wore flowers in my hair way back when. 65 this year, but always be 18 at heart. Great voice from a talented singer.
To anyone reading these comments. I've known Wendy her whole life, and can confirm that she has NEVER EVEN ONCE worn flowers in her hair. I think she claims the flower thing because one time she was walking around all day with like a leaf that must have blown into her hair at some point while she out getting her lunch from this bad sandwich place she used to get really bad sandwiches from. When someone pointed it out to her she was like "Huh? Oh, I know... I put it there because I like how it looks while I was at that great sandwich place" which wasn't true at all firstly because the sandwiches were so bad but also because she went to the bathroom right after that and when she came out the leaf or whatever it was was gone. When someone pointed out that it was gone she said that it must have fallen off into the toilet while she was in the bathroom. Then she ate her sandwich and kept loudly saying how great the sandwich was and that the bad sandwich place actually makes great sandwiches and that one time she saw Greg Kinnear eating there and Greg Kinnear said to her that he always eats there even though it's not even close to his house because the sandwiches are so great. A few days later I asked the person working at the bad sandwich place if Greg Kinnear ever ate there and they said "Greg who? Is that someone famous, because if that's someone famous they probably don't eat here because this is a bad sandwich place and the sandwiches are really pretty bad here." Then they asked if I wanted a bad sandwich and I said that I didn't because I usually try not to eat at bad places that sell bad food and they said they understood.

This pop up in my mind the last week it’s 2023 and still really meaningful used to listen to it as a kid but I actually understand it now
Makes me sad that this song is even more relevant 18 years later - shows how society just keeps going further down the rabbit hole.
I've always loved this song, and I still love it. Reminds me of simpler times, for a little while 💛🌼🌻
sadly the "punk rockers" are now raging for the machine :(
@@davidnonya7359 not all of us
@@jeanninerossouw5921 ofcourse not all of us! not me, and not you, but we are in the minority! everywhere i look they same to rage for and support the machine
@@davidnonya7359Aging punk here - still kicking back against the system & longing for the long lost simpler times
You do realize this song is about wanting to be 2 things that are opposite??? you guys say simpler times but the 60's had the civil rights movement hardly simpler times for fucks sake, Vietnam as well too boot and the cold war worrying about nuclear annihilation. but yeah lets pretend times back then were simpler..........
It’s 2021 and I still listen to this regularly. Great tune that always reminds me of better days gone by. Keep smiling Sandi.

I was born in 93 and to this day i still feel the lyric "I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care" is more prevalent then ever i'm so glad she re released this song with jabs at the current state of the world
I was in 93 too and feel same
Look at Washington. People care.
I was also born in 93 same feeling
Guess why the punk rock culture came up - because they felt that no one cared...
You millennials know Jack shit about old school punk. How could you....
