I picked up my cobra today, just had it auto swapped with a 4r75 and manual valve body. Car is insane, had a T56 in it and it blew up with only 745hp700tq. This auto makes it feel like you're teleporting.
Charles Thomson sorry, manuals are definitely more fun, no one is saying they aren’t. But automatics are 100% faster. Some people don’t want to buy a manual for daily driving. Plus, new automatics come with paddle shifters and a “Manual mode”, so they can still manually shift when they really want to. It’s literally the best of both worlds, and if you don’t like it it’s probably only because youre a boomer who thinks any muscle car that isn’t a 70 Chevy Nova with a big block Merlin motor that still uses an ancient carburetor and isn’t a manual, is a piece of shit. Get with the times.

New ChannelSameName it wasn't a kit actually, i got an iron short block with stock bore, manley h-beam rods, manley pistons, forged cobra crank and all ARP hardware. supposed to be good for at least 1000 HP. would have rather had an aluminum block for weight savings, but i found a really great deal on this one and it was unused. manley makes great stuff, can't go wrong with their parts. mahle is just as good. good luck with your swap!
Import guys mostly cough cough Honda guys assume auto sucks because they don't know the formula for a fast strip car with mind bending torque. Auto with a manual valve body. Supra guys get it. Many use the GM TH400 behind their 2jzs and it works.

I have a 2003 Mach 1 with a fully built cobra engine with all forged internals, ported heads, and a Vortech supercharger. It puts down 700whp and 625rwtq and its an auto. He's right you get better times with an auto. The guy who built my engine said its awesome that you have a cobra engine putting down 700whp in an auto that's very rare to have. Plus its a pain to have a manual in the city where its constantly stop and go, I much rather have an auto muscle car unless I'm in a rural area and not racing.
+stephen78able I drove my cousin's '05 Mach 1 manual after he got it 11 years ago and after driving the manual it would just be so much less thrilling if it was auto. It is a pain to have a manual in heavy city traffic, but when you have winding backroads you can downshift and hit that throttle to utilize the massive torque it becomes so worth it.
They didn't make an '05 Mach 1, they only made them from 03-04. But ya i see what your saying about manual, thats why I said unless your in a rural area it's not worth it.
