The 90's anime excelled at setting the mood and many of the artistic choices. Saito's smug confidence in the old show can't be beat, lol! The song you were asking about is called Departure btw, the old show had great music as well.
From the beginning u said that "feels intense" that's the art from the original version, the silents, and you combine that with the Soundtrack wich is a masterpiece as well ❤️🔥
The old version of the anime is 100% better than the 2023 remake. Not even close. Specially from this episode forward. The kyoto arc Kenshin vs Shishio is a masterpiece. No way in hell the new version is gonna do a better job. They dont have the talent.
Maybe they'll do better? The 2nd season of remake is doing really good so far, at adapting the material source. Though, the soundtrack will never be outmatched for sure
Hey man I'm not sure if you know, buy I saw you like Saito. You might like to know he's was a real person, he belonged to a real shinsengumi, the wolves of mibu were real, even the alias he uses Fujita goro was real.
Saito would murder Kenshin in the end hand down. The wolf would be victorious. A cop vs a ignorant assassin. Saito would eat him for lunch. That's why they never showed the ending in the movie, because they hyped Kenshin. Thats what they do. Saito is the version of Vegeta and Kenshin is Goku. In a overall real fight, Vegeta would kick Goku ass!!
I enjoyed your reaction video. If you're interested in Demon Slayer, I recommend you watch ep 47, 52, 56 and 62 because the chief animation director of Demon Slayer was fully in charge of those episodes. He was one of the animation directors of 1996 Rurouni Kenshin, and though it was his early career, his artworks were outstanding.
If u watch him vs the other Manslayer, you see stage 3. Red eyes=Battousai reborn. You DEFINITELY need to watch the og series. Yu Yu Hakusho too. Theres a ton of great ones.
The colours, the camera angles, the soundtrack; the old version was better. This chapter was called "Shadow of the Wolf", so the dark colours made more sense. After a filler filled season 1, this season basically got a new soundtrack, so everything felt different, more dark & somber. In this fight, the Battousai actually used battoujutsu multiple times - I was disappointed the new one didn't.

The original soundtracks are a big part of the reason the original anime was so good.

The song's name is Departure and is iconic and easily open of the top 5 in the soundtrack
Old one definitely better 😊

Alot of this anime took from from real life people 😊
Sad thing is you can't see this fight unless you have the original DVDs
Old anime kenshin is better than the new one because of the soundtrack.

Studio Gallop produced the first half of the original anime, and their work was exceptional even for its time.
Nice❤
They kinda ruined it with the bazillion edits, cutting out all of the dialogue that added to the intensity of the fight.
my favorite anime lol I got my buddy into this so much he named pets after characters lol
LOOOL W friend 😂

Yeah demon slayer is definitely on my list to react to
Demon slayer has both inuyasha and rouruni kenshin influence.
Saito would have been dead if that sword was not a sakabato.
True but Saito probably easily could have killed kenshin earlier in their fight and chose not to

The battle between saitou and kenshin is always dark in the entire series. Second dark in jin eh.
96 Kenshin is scarier
Love Saito
