No stunts were used. Especially for the role of Henshin. He did ALL stunts himself. And learned them in 3 months. Which is by itself shocking.
Takeru was already fairly a physical actor especially because he was Kamen Rider Den O and you don't become a Kamen Rider without the physical chops. That said, Takeru was amazing. I remember when the movie was being made I was reading up on his journals and he said there wasn't a day of shooting and training that he wasn't in pain.
I think i should tell you this, the actor who played as Kenshin done the scene without a stuntman and also the other guy do it too 😁
The only live action movie which Did justice to its anime counterpart...
And Gintama + Crows Zero

@@KiraVu6786 tbh, Crow Zero is didn't count as live action from it's manga, it's more like spin-off movie which get success and they decide to make comic/manga based on it, which is taken time before the real manga based on

rurouni kenshin live action is one of the best anime adaptations ever. they complement each other very well. you must see the trilogy. just do it, lol.
The way Rurouni Kenshin has grown till the very last part is commendable. It was the last part where we get to know the whole story of rurouni kenshin and was beautifully executed.
Takeru Satoh did his own stunts, in fact most of the actors did. They actually have behind the scenes videos of Takeru and Ryûnosuke kamiki(sojiro) practicing their fight scenes.
Ryunosuke was really did great on the Film, his Swordfight stunts, hos swag and also his acting , he nailed his role , he is the and only born to play the role of Sojiro🔥 he is also great on film As the Gods will and Godzilla Minus one
He uses the reverse blade sword. So normally it doesn't cut anyone if he doesn't want to. My favorite.
Alos...he vowed not to kill anymore...so made the blade reverse...

Really appreciate that Miss Achara is a fan of Rurouni Kenshin and was excited to see the fight scene! ^_^x Also glad she explained to Jaby about Kenshin's reverse blade sword. Hope you both got to finally watch the films (because they're amazing)! Especially since we're getting the last two released in July and August of 2020! :D
Takeru Satoh portrayal as Rurouni Kenshin is really good. There was actually another fight going on that's why there was some inconsistency. BTW all the fights in this trilogy are realistic compared to the anime counterpart. Check out other fights of this trilogy as well, like Himura(and 3 others) vs Sishio, Himura vs Sejiro(2nd movie), Himura vs Aoshi(3rd).
Not just that but the main actors did their own stunts. Takeru did his own stunts for the movies.
He really deserves an award for this

If you saw the bloody one it was probably one of the newer animations that focuses on his past before he became a wanderer, then we have the one at present which you could see in Netflix that came out in toonami...live action did justice to both.
This is my first time watching that the girl was more hyped with the fight scene and the guy is against violence.
Rurouni Kenshin uses the back bladed katana was aimed to stop his enemies from fighting so you barely see blood on his sword except on few occasions when he strikes the enemy's face or head. With his exceptional skills of swordsmanship, he uses it to inflect severe pain and if needed, damage part of enemy's body that paralyses him from fighting with a sword. He made such decision NOT TO KILL after he gave up his original katana that had taken lives he could no longer count in his past as elite and most feared Battousai the assassin.
If you wanna know what it’s like to be hit by kenshin just imagine being hit by a thin metal stick at full force
watch 2 and 3 of the trilogy. they're really good. Rouronin Kenshin is my anime first love. watched it so many times as a kid, since it was aired so many times in my country cause of it's popularity. Beautiful anime, characters, philosophy...love it.
the anime is rich in philosophy too. I ve also seen the anime when I was very young and couldn't grab any of those philosophical aspects. But I was amazed to see its richness in Japanese history and sociocultural change visualised in the anime when I watched it again in my adult age.
I was first introduced to anime when Animax came to India in 2002/03, I was only 11/12 years Old then.
Heidi, Astroboy, Cyborg009, Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin), Hungry Heart, Captain Tsubasa, Digimon, Wolf Rain.
These animes brought so much realism and human factor, where it made you feel/think on psychological as well as emotional level, with so many in depth History, Realism, Genres, Imagination, Futuristic, as well as Historical and Mythological stories etc, as well as introduction to Cultural Roots of not just Japan but also World. Although, I've yet to see an Indian culture/character in an anime LOL.
Even today, when I watch Ruroruni Kenshin scenes or listen to those songs from the old, it rejuvenates so many childhood memories of early 2000s and brings back tears of joy and sadness as well, reminding me of my joyful youth back in India, and the feeling of something fulfilling and newness then in 2002/03
In the anime Kenshin Himura took an oath to protect the innocent and never kill again, but old memories seldom fade and bad habits die hard!
After the Crow zero . I loved this Japan movie.
Loving the fight scene. Makes me want to watch the movies. Ip Man is one of my favorite martial arts movies. I haven't seen a good Samurai flick in years. Zatoichi was good and Lady Snowblood one of my faves i know i'm naming the old school Samurai movies lol because their hasn't been a good one in many years. Japan doesn't focus on samurai movies nowadays kinda upsetting. I'm gonna buy the Rurouni Kenshin movies on blu ray XD.

that's a reveresed edge sword.. it only hurts his oponent.. he don't want to kill anymore.. so in case he needs to fight.. he will only hurt his oponent... that's why you don't see blood
Thats why love achara n big fan of her. She knows everything . Iam not into much bloodshed thing. But kenshin live movie is the best. N damn the actor is so hott. N also the anime is also the best.

Rurouni kenshin killed so many people in war that he was cursed... if he killed one person again, he would become a demon and he wouldn't be able to stop killing.. he would go on rampage again...
Also he was tired of killing and didn't want to kill people anymore..

Kenshin is usually a comedy. From the sound of it, you saw the prequel movies of the show, which is as far from a comedy as you can get. The events in the prequel shape Kenshin into the person he is in the show.
Ororororo, Gozaarooo. LOL There are many comedy scenes in the Anime, which normally wouldn't be there in a Lice-Adaption movies. So yeah, if he wats to see a lot of comedic scenes, it'll have to be Anime
though the movement was meaningless yes, it's a force of habit. Kenshin despite his youthful looks was a war veteran, a swordsman so deadly that they called him 'Hitokiri Battousai' - Battosai the Manslayer. After an incident with his past, he gave up that life and took the Sakaboto (Reverse-Blade Sword) since it would be increasingly difficult to kill someone with it. If Kenshin were to turn the blade to the sharp edge, it was more an indication that he was reverting to the ways he had tried desperately to cut ties from, so it's not exactly a good thing
The trilogy itself has better fights than this, Takeru Satoh is excellent in them
You should watch Shishio Makoto taking on Kenshin, Saito and two other dudes at the same time from the final part of the live action trilogy. Dude's a badass.

there’s no stunt team, the actors themselves are the stunts. practicing for months before filming a 3 part film.
I have seen two parts of the trilogy. Going to see the third one today.

You bought the OVA which is the story why kenshin decides never to kill. The anime series starts 10 years after the OVA.
You should do Ruroni Kenshin Trust and betrayal. Then you would actually understand why he uses a reverse blade.

There's no blood because he not kill that guy !! That Katana is an Reversed Blade, mean it sharp side is on the oposite side, and the side that the user often use to hit enemy was the sharp side on the normal Katana, but on that Katana it was reversed !
That why no blood ! Because he didn't want to kill anymore, that why he use that blade !
