I know it's just a video game and I should just let it be what it is, but one thing that's always concerned me about Toad's Turnpike is the lack of on and off ramps. It always seemed like those cars are literally going in circles and never get their destinations.
This course looks SO epic. I am hoping to get Mario Kart 8 soon. I have played Toad's Turnpike on my cousin's N64 before and even that is a flattout EPIC course.
ZachaRic O i will say the details are incredible, but it just takes away a lot of difficulty, i really wanna see a track like this where they don't expand the road at all to make it extremely difficult, would finally make a challenge. The hardest course for me is probably wario's gold mine from Wii, that was a pain in the butt

I finished that game 100% (gold, 3 stars) and didn't remember this track existed, because I did it all in 3 days then barely touched it again. I hope the next MK won't even easier because if it follows the current trend, the vehicle will even do mini-turbos and shortcuts automatically, making the GP completion approximately 10 minutes long.
I have a suspicion that an ultra shortcut exists on this track. As you should know, there is a car with a glider ramp on it. It is possible to use it to glide over the bridge when it is in the right position, like at 0:41. I don't know if this is possible, but maybe you can turn left and dive down to go to the top of the bridge, skipping half of the lap. Edit: I just tried the ultra shortcut myself, but Lakitu stopped me RIP.
José De León also cemu still has a ways to go so it might not support your pc all that well even with great specs and really doesn’t run well in general yet so just wait or see if people on gba temps can help you out or at least get the devs notified so they can do something

in the N64 version there were ramps that had invisible walls and glowing arrows. Cars and trucks would be merging on and off the turnpike

Im pretty sure it's illegal to race on an active road, so those are probably Just giant RC cars made to act as obstacles

The boost pads on top of the trucks caught me so off guard. That is the COOLEST thing.

Have you ever tried Mirror Mode on the N64? You have to race AGAINST the flow of traffic and it makes the track 100x harder.
The remake is too easy. You can completely avoid the highway with anti gravity and the cars are much smaller than its original.
The cars are smaller to allow 12 players instead of 8.

That's a side effect of having a larger main road to accommadate 12 players. I think the additions to this retro course outweigh any takeaways.

N64 Toad's Turnpike - Toad's highway is at night with moving vehicles.
