What i love about portal 1 mods is how crazy they are, different takes on mechanics that appear in Portal 2, just generally more freedom, i really enjoyed playing this mod because of how insane it goes, doing anything that it wants to do, and that's beautiful in my opinion, it sure is flawed in many aspects, but honestly, what isn't? It adds to the charm in my eyes, somehow
Ooohh, yess. Hetzchase Nailway. This mod is FASCINATING, and one I boot up at least once every year to play again! If you're wondering why this mod has so many jarring transitions, different concepts, and different artstyles, this is basically a compilation of a ton of Ian Boswell's other works over the years into one mappack, including unfinished stuff, in mod form. This is also why there's a short period of Portal 2 recreation maps! The last thing you play through was/should still be actually available as its short standalone mod, Red Trees, and it's probably my favorite POLISHED concept of the whole pack (there's plenty of less-polished ones that are still neat). Ian B. makes neat shit in Source, for sure. He also made the "Colours" co-op map series for Portal 2, and has worked on some more misc projects since then, the really cool one, if I remember correctly, is called Fever Dream, and has some pretty neat mechanics that I REALLY like. I can't remember if any of the other mods got released, and I haven't checked his channel in a year, so I guess I'll have to take a look right now. Thanks for the reminder! ...also, it's a shame that Swollen is always copyright-blocked, it's a great track that I actually listen to sometimes outside of the mod. Good music taste, he has!
accidentally stumbled upon this piece of modern art a long while ago, and i can say it's what i really expect out of a videogame, a fun experience with barely any sense but enjoyable to play, i don't know how to put it.. Liked that i were almost never knowing what will happen next!
have you ever heard about "Conversion" it was a Portal mod meant to solve the consistency issues for Portal 2 but got cancelled and the dev made "Mind Escape"
I played this mod not too long ago and it was quite interesting. It's good to know that the part I got stuck on was broken by steam pipe and not because I was missing something lul. I got busy and never completed the mod. Also shout out to your whole channel for providing banger Portal 1 content!
We need a third mapping competition as soon as possible! I enjoyed developing my map and letting you solve and rate it! I've improved a lot and would like a chance to redeem my newly-formed skills in Portal maps.
According to another comment, this mod was more of a mappack than an actual mod with continious story, so i guess it makes sense it is all missmashed together, but imo differant maps would need to atleast be seperated with a simple title on map start
Ok so uh, I downloaded the mod and i unzipped it, but it wont pop up in my steam library, can someone tell me if I did something wrong? And yes, I put it in source mods

Yea maybe it could happen, but i am still split on if it should be in hammer or the in game editor again and if enought people would even enter
