@mrobsoletesvintagehomesteading yes I have several Clone chainsaws, but this one’s actually built pretty darn good of course it has a few flaws but even if we were talking US dollars of 159.99 it would be hard to complain about it. It’s been so long since I’ve had a high-quality chainsaw maybe I just don’t know what I’m missing. Lol but these are pretty good for what they are. @ Mrobsoletesvintagehomesteading thanks for the kind words and I hate to say it but you’re right that’s what it’s come down to now is they’ve cloned these older pro saws and they’re actually pretty darn good with just a few little modifications. I was at a friends the other night and he’s got a Stihl MS 290 or something like that and I can go and buy $165 Chainsaw and it will out cut that Stihl and because the clones saw was such a bullet proof design, even though it’s made out of inferior parts and will probably out last that Stihl and even if it doesn’t, you could probably buy five of them for the price of that one Stihl chainsaw. I don’t like it. I honestly don’t I wish we could go back to the old days or just buying quality product but this is where we’re at in this day and age. So like everything else in life, you just have to adapt and overcome and go with the flow. But I am like you I think I’d rather just promote vintage chainsaws and have people fix them up and run those versus this cheap Chinese stuff.
Ordered the muffler and I had a carb adjusting kit, and of course it does not have the driver I need so ordered off the parts list you have in the description thanks for coming in clutch buddy love the video BTW pretty cold up here gonna be -40 tmr morning leaving the saw out to see if it'll start
@Nativemiles getting cold here too but not that cold (yet). Yes for best cold starts have your L jet turned out as much as you can with a good idle so it has the most fuel for cold starts. Also open that rubber heat vent under the cover to allow some warmth in.
Thank you for the amazing video, I ended up taking out the guts of the exhaust as well. Using 40-1, copied your heat relief areas. I can confirm that Oregon bar with K095 works. Got the Oregon speed cut 18" bar and M72 chain kit from local Canadian Tire and it cuts through hardwood like a hot knife through butter. Looking forward to seeing the carb adjustment video, would you be able to show how you actually got the clutch off as well in that video. I watch your other one and didn't catch how you got it off.
@dustinmacneil84 awesome! Ya just make sure you are rich enough on the high jet. You need to hear a bit of 4 stroking (gurgling sound). You should hear that sound when it’s wide open then when you cut the sound should go away. If it doesn’t just turn the H jet in to give it a bit less fuel. Don’t run it lean or you’ll score the cylinder. I thought my one video explained how to take clutch off with two wrenches (if you don’t have proper tool). Ya it’s surprising how well they cut once tuned, muff mod and better bar/chain. Very smooth cutting saw. Just remember the bar oil runs out before the fuel so fill it to 3/4 full that’s it .
@@davidstonkus3288 your welcome and yes they need to be tuned like any other saw but I have two and they both run flawless except on really hot days but I have a fix for that.
great video, i really appreciate how much detail you go over. I got a supmix 6250 last year and the thing rips. i liked it so much i bought another supmix saw the S 6251 because i liked the way it looked.
@fakeusername7620 yes, they do rip really good I have two of them. I find their built pretty cheap compared to these Radley saws though. I haven’t been able to use my supmix for a while because the fuel cap is leaking and also the throttle lock broke. I’m going to fix that soon. That other Supmix that you bought he said you like the look of it is that the blue and white one?
Yes the blue and white one. Havent actually started it yet although the build quality overall feels like a little upgrade from the orange one even though the design is basically exactly the same. all the metal parts have a nice black finish, the chain break feels better, the nuts and chain tensioner are better quality. only thing i dont like is that the choke felt better on the orange saw. the carbs are and air filters are slightly different. but i dont think that will affect it much. I'm gonna grease the needle bearing inside the drum before i use the saw though. @@Indeewoods
@fakeusername7620 interesting!! I have the black and red ones. I like the Blue and White as well. You say it has a different air filter set up? And a different carb?
@@Indeewoods the carb is definately different it says HEF or HEI on top but the orange saw carb doesnt say anything i can see without taking it apart. they both have nylon air filters but the shape is just slightly different. theyre basically the same.
Dang! Now thats a dialed budget saw. Thanks for the link and video. I ordered the muffler and chain. Have the 76 link version. I love how isolated you are fro. Vibration but it cuts snale slow. My craftsman 45cc cuts way faster with its funny skip chain thing, and skinny looking 18inch bar but your hands go numb from the engine vibration lol. The radley is so much nicer in that department. I had to fatten my low speed after heat cycling it was lean bogging, left top end alone i think or opened it a bit fat. Yeah, im only into it for $150, $50 more to get it rip wood better im in!
@@layback209fixorsmash3 howdy! Ya the Radley is a solid saw if you do what I did to mine. If your stock safety (low kick back) chain is still good you can grind the links down so it cuts much better. Or just go get a Stihl RS chain and be done with it. Does yours have the Oregon bar or the newer style? The muffler mod makes a huge difference in power. The intake mods let air in and heat out on those hot summer days. My first original Radley has the Ordgon bar and it cuts smoother than my other one with the newer cheaper style bar. I think that is the vibration issue. Ya bogging is always lean not enough fuel and not healthy for the engine. I mix mine at 40:1 it rips
@Indeewoods thanks, I'll try filing on the chain and upgrade to a stihl one. Mine has the newer style bar (Radley on the bar). When I bolt that amazon muffler on I'll do some of the plastic mods you shared to help it dissipate heat better. I'm pretty sure my chain break catches on the green plastic cover anyways.
@layback209fixorsmash3 ya the muff mod,and chain alone you won’t even know it’s the same saw. Make sure it’s tuned that muff mod will make it run a bit lean. If you go to my community page I listed a link to an rpm gauge. With one of those you could tune it to 11,100 rpm which should make it run good for you.
I have a bunch of these, one took 4 tanks before broken in, motors are all the same, plugs, coils, carbs, parts, vary, guess tinkering with the new saw you can get it to preform like your old one

I called the company that supplies parts for these things the other day and a cylinder is $16, a piston is three dollars, the rings are one dollar etc. etc. the parts are stupid cheap for these things. It’s nice to play with them.
@@Indeewoods yeah this thing as paid for it’s self over and over for sure. Nothing as broken on mine yet but it gets a regular cleaning. I have greased that clutch bearing but no more then I have on my other saws. All dogs go to Heaven. I just picked one of these up a few days ago to use on my little Homestead. I figure if it lasts even one year, it will have paid for itself. Thanks for the vids!
@joetibbles1553 yes it’s a pretty darn good firewood saw especially if you just have softwoods with a good sharp chain. It just blows through everything. One thing I didn’t tell people in the video was that chain has already cut about two cords of wood and I haven’t sharpened it yet lol, so it wasn’t even totally sharp but still cutting pretty good in the video.
@joetibbles1553 no it wasn’t an old chain. It was a brand new chain that I put on last fall. A Stihl RS full chisel chain but what I’m saying is I cut a couple of cords of wood with it and haven’t even sharpened it for the first time yet, so it’s just a bit dull. Once I give it a fresh hand grind, it’ll cut even better.
I signed up. Sad about ur dog After I saw ur video I took my Radley in dah woods I even bought a battery operated Radley saw. Seems to be OK so far never used it that much. I’m putting out a video tonight with me using my saw. Maybe it’s time for another saw to be bought haha.
@carlekins7154 I never did get thag video done but it’s on the list. Get yourself the special carb adjusting tool and turn the L fuel screw OUT about 1/2 a turn and that should get you in the ballpark for now.
@carlekins yes it is but it’s just a ball park setting. It’s impossible for me to give you a specific fuel mixture because everybody is at different elevations and temperatures. They come pretty lean from the factory and then 40:1 makes them leaner yet so you may want to back the H mixture screw out a little as well but of course that all has to do with how it is set right now.
@toddpenny7764 if you’re not into bigger, Firewood, you don’t need the extra length you could probably free up some power by going to a shorter bar. K095 is the bar pattern I believe
@toddpenney7764 one thing that I haven’t talked about on my channel yet and I actually just discovered it a couple of weeks ago is on the newer Radley’s chainsaws. They use that different bar than the original ones like the first one I had in the first video I did. Anyway, I noticed that the original Radley I bought ( I have two of them now)cut so smooth. It’s just a nice saw to run and on the newer Radley I got you can definitely notice it chatters more even with a brand new still RS full chisel chain just like the other one has so obviously the bar plays a role. If you get yourself a good Oregon bar for that saw I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Do you have the original Oregon bar and chain or do you have the newer unbranded bar?
@@Indeewoods the newer one just says Radley on both sides. Im going to get new one but I was finding it so confusing like it's all info on the chains not the bar. I want and 18" or 20" Oregon.
Check my links in the description it will give you the chain size but the drive links will be different with a shorter bar. Best to just take bar and saw into a dealer that sells Stihl or Husky chain have them make you the right length chain.
@dusty1498 if it’s OK for a snowmobile it should be fine for a chainsaw, but it will say right on the bottle if it’s good for air cooled engines or not.
@dusty1498 just remember that the more oil use the leaner your mixture is meaning there’s less gas so you often have to return the car but otherwise you can melt it down pretty quick. A lot of people don’t understand that they think because you add more oil that means it’s running richer and I suppose it is richer in oil but it doesn’t make the fuel mixture richer. It makes it leaner. Just make sure you’ve got it 4 stroking and then it cleans up when it’s in the cut and you’ll be good. If you rev it up and you don’t hear that for stroking richen it up.
@johnropeleski6006 I am using Mystik Sea and Snow but I use Red Armour in other saws. The Red Armour is a more of a Chainsaw specific oil I have a link for it in the description.
@kennisonmoore8938 I looked on Amazon and I didn’t see any on there so I’m not sure you might have to make your own or Call Radley parts department in Montreal Quebec. They’ll probably have one there.
@HallelujahHomesteading What country do you live in? All the links I posted go right to the individual parts. Several people have already been purchasing them. You should just be able to click on the link the part comes up and you order it. But again it depends what country are in.
@HallelujahHomesteading yes they will work. I think you probably clicked on my first link which I accidentally had an amazon.com link so it just took you to the actual Amazon website but I fixed it and I checked all the other links for all the other parts in the video and they’re all from Canada so if you click on the link, you’ll just be able to order it now. As of right now everything is in stock on those links. As for how do you tell if you need 76 or 78 drive links I’m assuming you didn’t watch the video lol. But anyways, it’s pretty easy the bar that says Radley is the 76 Drive link but it’s also stamped into the bar, you’ll see it . There’s some other differences like I say, if you watch the video, it explains it all in very good detail. If it says Oregon on the bar, it should be the 78 Drive link but if all else fails just count your chain you’ll either have 76 or 78 drive links. If you’re going to be doing a lot of cutting and you want the best possible chain you may just want to go into your Husqvarna or Stihl dealer and get one of their full chisel chains that will be the best chain you can get otherwise I provided some links for you for the other chains, which would still be pretty decent.
Amazing, thanks for sharing all that! I watched your video about 10 times, just not in full lol i only missed the drive link part! Looking forward to putting your advice into motion 🙏
@HallelujahHomesteading-vx6yy I just noticed at the bottom of my video it’s broken down into each section and I never did any of that you tube did it for me. The artificial intelligence must’ve done that it’s pretty handy. You can just go to whichever section you need to watch check it out.
Hi I wanted to Get your opinion of the Air Filter? Do you rinse yours in gas and compressed air it dry? And what do you think of those after market mufflers they sell on ali exp? I see they have a one hole two hole and 3 hole muffler for the clone saws now Lol. I have seen the proyama clones use that nice car air filter style and they are fairly cheap on ali exp. Do you think they would fit under the air cover on the Radley? Thanks
@dusty1498 not sure about the Ali E mufflers I just buy the ones off Amazon I just blow the air filters out but they do pass a little dirt. The other air filter style won’t fit on with out some mods. I already tried it. Have an idea how to do it but too hard to explain through text.
@@Indeewoods Hey No sweat. I am sure all those mufflers come from the same place. Might give the 3 hole a whirl.I hear ya i will probably just keep the stock air filter then. Thats too bad they are not a easier swap
@mechanicalbeast8273 here it is th-cam.com/video/C_OuYkgG2ok/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared However the saw should never “overheat” even with the stock muffler.
Hey have you ever used a tcw-3 rated oil in your saws? I have some shell advance non synthetic snowmobile oil i was going to try but its tcw3 rated.
@dusty1498 if it’s OK for a snowmobile it should be fine for a chainsaw, but it will say right on the bottle if it’s good for air cooled engines or not.
@@Indeewoods Thanks. I usually mix a pinch heavy to be safe
@@Indeewoods For sure that makes sense. I dont go crazy on extra oil just a hair more when i measure it out probably like 38:1 or something
What type of 2 stroke oil are you using?
@johnropeleski6006 I am using Mystik Sea and Snow but I use Red Armour in other saws. The Red Armour is a more of a Chainsaw specific oil I have a link for it in the description.
Hey i need to know what exhaust you used on your first saw. The stock one is junk. Was looking for the link for the 2 port exhaust
@mechanicalbeast8237 I already posted the link along with the video how to mod the stock one. Just check out your last comnent..
Could you put a link for the gasket for the air filter
@kennisonmoore8938 I looked on Amazon and I didn’t see any on there so I’m not sure you might have to make your own or Call Radley parts department in Montreal Quebec. They’ll probably have one there.
Do you have a new part list? The one in the description goes straight to Amazons homepage. Would love to upgrade my radley chainsaw like yours!
@HallelujahHomesteading
What country do you live in?
All the links I posted go right to the individual parts. Several people have already been purchasing them.
You should just be able to click on the link the part comes up and you order it. But again it depends what country are in.
I’m in Canada, would they work from here? I will just look it up on Google otherwise. Really appreciate it
@HallelujahHomesteading yes they will work.
@HallelujahHomesteading-vx6yy
I just noticed at the bottom of my video it’s broken down into each section and I never did any of that you tube did it for me.
Thanks
@dusty1498 not sure about the Ali E mufflers I just buy the ones off Amazon
I just blow the air filters out but they do pass a little dirt.
@dusty1498 supposedly the 3 hole has 3 smaller holes that are not as big as the 2 on the two hole.
@@Indeewoods Be interesting to see what the difference is if any
Which video did you do the muffler. Mine is over heating
@mechanicalbeast8273 here it is th-cam.com/video/C_OuYkgG2ok/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
However the saw should never “overheat” even with the stock muffler.
Sounds like you need to tune the carb and richen it up a bit.
If you don’t want to spend the time modifying the muffler you can just buy a dual port off Amazon. Here’s the ones I use amzn.to/3Uc9Dgh
@indeewoods: I could buy the same saw i think but in orange/black called Fuxtec KSE151 for about 80,- Dollars, only use for 4 or 5 times.....should i buy it? Greets from Austria
@andyman7344 does it have a purge bulb?
@@Indeewoodsno it hasn't.
@andyman7344 ok it’s probably not the same as this one then.
They make a whole bunch of different clones based off the Zenoah platform.
@@andyman7344 did you buy a saw?
If not these Proyama chainsaws are really good high quality and cheap to buy.
Here’s the Amazon USA link amzn.to/3NKAqx7
got one of these where the heck do i get parts i sadly broke the brake on it
@banditbull9722 just look in your manual that came with it and there is a complete parts list along with the company name and number that sells those parts.
Where abouts are you located?
Awesome thank you for the info! i bought it second hand so had no manual but easy find online!
I am 45 min outside of Ottawa
Also I bought my radley chainsaw in 2021 or 2022.. how do I know if it’s the 76 or 78 drive link version?
@HallelujahHomesteading I explain it in the video
Thanks, I’ve mostly skimmed the vid but I’ll give it a full watch a bit later tonight. So awesome to see a radley chainsaw getting it done out there!
Great vid. Thanks!
Turn oil back it will run out same time.
@hughiemaceachern yes but the chain will stretch and wear more.
What i did to close the gap more and make the oil match the fuel tank wax i richened up the mixure so now I have the oil turned down one not from max and it’s pretty even when the saw runs out of gas there is still a small amount of oil in the reservoir.
Sorry about your baby
Them low kick back chain suck
If there like a Macallan their junk
