Something else that feels very infinite is the number of misattributed Einstein quotes. Did Einstein actually say that? Probably not. The author who claims Einstein said that to him (Frederick S. Perls) first attributed it to "a great astronomer". Then he attributed it to Einstein, but phrased it differently. Then, he attributed it to Einstein again. Should this author be believed? Well, the quote (or something extremely similar) appeared in a lot of books in the early and mid 1900's, written by several different people. So, I suppose it is possible that Perls heard it from an astronomer first, then Einstein later. I doubt it, though. Einstein never believed the universe to be infinite. He even believed, for a long time, that the universe was completely static.
So- Cool quote, but attributing it to Einstein seems a bit odd.
