      Hi Please refer below command
      ##################################
      column awr_snapshot_retention_period format a40
      SELECT EXTRACT(day from retention) || ':' ||
      EXTRACT(hour from retention) || ':' ||
      EXTRACT (minute from retention) awr_snapshot_retention_period,
      EXTRACT (day from snap_interval) *24*60+
      EXTRACT (hour from snap_interval) *60+
      EXTRACT (minute from snap_interval) awr_snapshot_interval
      FROM dba_hist_wr_control;
      exec DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPOSITORY.MODIFY_SNAPSHOT_SETTINGS(retention=>43200, interval=>30);
      EXEC DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPOSITORY.create_snapshot;
      select snap_id,BEGIN_INTERVAL_TIME,END_INTERVAL_TIME from dba_hist_snapshot where BEGIN_INTERVAL_TIME > systimestamp -1 order by BEGIN_INTERVAL_TIME desc;
      #############################
      I hope this is helpful

    Very nice explanation Sir ...❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻
    Sir i have a small question....
    Yesterday the database is running with AWR Retention of 8 days ..... Today i changed the AWR Retention to 90 days ....... So now will i be able to extract the AWR Report for the (sysdate-85) day ??? (I suppose not thinking that currently i dont have very old snap because today only i changed the AWR Retention to 90 days .. once the Snaps are generated from today... Only these snaps will be retained for 90 days ) i gave this answer.. i may be wrong .. please guide Sir ...
    Interviewer asked almost the same question

      Good question. If you have modified retention period Today so once you will reach 90 days then you can extract old awr snapshot.
