I knew it was there when I noticed some enemies kept going that way. I thought they were flanking us, so I got on the hill, and that's when I saw the console and said THEY BROUGHT IT BACK FOR BC2?!!!!! NO WAY!!!! I then shot the enemy that was using it 😂
thats really good imo, it makes the game much more fun when there is a semi powerful position that players fight for, similar to that prison map in bf4

I have fond memories of sitting on the UAV in BC2 on that snowy map. I ran zoom optics and stayed nice and high up while I provided intel to a friend, where there were enemies etc. Occasionally using my missiles to help out. It was honestly so much fun playing that role and watching him clear buildings that I'm watching from the outside.
I want to play this but I'm not until they f*cking tone down some of these broken dumb sh*t weapons like the RM68, BSV M, Avancy's, infact most LMG's. If they just nerf the mentioned above then a lot of weapons will become more viable and a little bit better to use!! Why's IT SO F*CKING HARD FOR DICE!!! This is why I love battlefield. The sheer amount of variation in gameplay. Tanks, flying, infantry, whatever this is. There is so much to do and explore. Games end up being such a different experience often enough depending on the role you decide for. Maybe a building is there, maybe it isnt. Just love it. Also how great does everything from above? Its like a RTS game seeing the soldiers run around, push buildings and such.
This brings back great memories of BFBC2 my first AAA BF experience and little things like this drone hidden on the map was part of the charm of the BF series. It really just felt like a big war sandbox and was full of joy which I feel is sorely missing in most modern shooters. If the next BF game could go back to that feeling of fun, awe, destruction, dynamism, variety & those important BF moments I think every fan will be so happy. :)

For pure simulation, that is such a good visual of the drone camera zoomed in from so high up calling in that laser on that tank. I mean Jack, you might as well have been flying actual drone mission. And if you've seen ender's game, maybe you really have?😮😊❤
I wish that this was something you were able to call in via the in-game support function. The "ranger" sits alone in a "drones" page in the loadout menus. Makes you wonder if there were supposed to be more support drones in the game.

So good to see two air transports. Makes the game look more immersive. It just doesn't make sense that there's only one now for each team with 128 players. All they need to do is just remove the cannons and keep the mini guns with maybe different types of versions to have more variety 🤔
Spot on. The things are mobile tanks and they shouldn't be, just give each team two of them on bigger modes and remove the main guns, plus lower the health significantly.
Finally, I see the crumpled terrain bug being presented. As a nightbird main playing with autocannons, it's extremely annoying that explosive projectiles are so bugged when hitting crumpled terrain. In particular on this map, it's a big issue.
I have been seeing that on the minimap and was like what the hell is that thing....totally seemed off. Glad to finally learn what it was about. Thanks again Jack!!!!
Jack, guiding the missile at tanks you have to try to aim at the engine, on the back of the tank. That's where the armor is more vulnerable, and at least in BC2 it was always a 1 hit kill this way.
Would be actually cool if they put these in the vanilla maps too and give the option to choose between AA or Laser guided missiles. Caspian border and Arica harbor has some serious issues with choppers so this could balance things a bit.
Battlefield has been so much fun and rewarding. Checked it out for the first time since beta and just the chaotic but relaxing game I didn't even know I missed so much. As someone whose played every battlefield except for this one.. feels like I'm back home. Medic is on the way. PTFO

Nice to see it buffed since BC2! In that game you had to choose between smoke (flares) or zoom, recharge rate was very long, and the machine gun was laughable. Also, in BC2 spotting the UAV spotted the player way back on the console as well, making them a juicy sniper/AT4 target. Wonder if that happens in 2042 as well?
They have the drone for the attacking team on rush on Arica and Valparaiso. I've got 940 kills with the UAV-1 from just raining cruise missiles on people. Definitely worth a try on 128p rush you can get some crazy multi kills
I would love a Specialist like this. Obviously severely nerfed cause this is insane but being able to act as a UAV and send missiles down on every map would be so much fun.
How the hell does BFBC2 have better destruction than 2042? That game is so underrated but that drone was a death sentence once people knew about it you were advertising your location to entire enemy team.
I kinda wish Jack made a video about this drone at launch. Because at launch, this drone was unstoppable. Now they've HEAVILY nerfed the machine gun. Idk how jack does it but when I shoot enemies with the machine gun, I only get hitmarkers.. lolz. The laser guided missiles feels the same though. EDIT: DICE has also removed the drone after tons of complaints on how OP it was. It took a while to eventually added it back and also nerfed.
It's a fragile bastard, but the laser rocket is super fun and the machine gun still works. You just have to hope to god that the enemies don't know it exists because anyone who's competent realizes you can gun it down with a single magazine.
As somebody who sorely misses Commander mode in BF4 and getting to drop cruise missiles on everyone, this was a joy to see.
I adored Commander mode, especially when you find a squad that was using VOIP to co-ordinate with too

My memories of this from BC2 are that everyone knew where they were and you usually got sniped off it within seconds of getting on it.
They weren't hidden in BC2, usually right near where you spawned. Some maps had better cover than others.

Remember you could put a bunch of C4s on it and just fly it up to the MCOM on rush while your team mates detonates the C4s .

The guided missile in this drone is a bit underwhelming visually at least , in BFBC2 it feels and sounds like true footage of airstrike.
It reminds me of Flood zone from bf 4. I used to play as the commander and enjoy the cruise missiles. The "commander is online" line was the best....
