I agree. That's why we need to dominate the scoreboard playing as cooperatively as possible to show them that they should also be playing with their team. Thanks for commenting!
Im choosing recon, using Soflam to target mark all vehicles and no one care. All they do just send rockets and I agree about medics too. I think EA should give a lesson what are medics jobs. If they dont revive ally, EA change their class automatically.
It's definitely better than I was expecting vs. ground vehicles. It's kind of sad... she already dominates the sky. The only thing making the M5 a little appealing is having 4 rounds on you... but even then, you need to find an ammo crate first...
I'm pretty sure the G84 does little to fuck all damage to destroy a tank or a transport chopper. Add to the fact you can only have 2 rockets at a time, and I'd rather pick Crawford with an M5, that can dish out the damage much faster. He also has a minigun turret for AA capabilities, nuff said.
A tip for the at mine. If you do a mine and then shoot it. It leaves a crater that you can use to hide the two mines you have left. They can be easily spotted if just let on the ground. Although any crater will do.
I do find myself hiding them in craters, but I've never thought about using an AT mine to create a new crater, good tip! I do recommend putting them on the edge of the crater, sometimes I've seen tanks run right over my concealed mines and they haven't detonated because they are too deep in the crater.
You will easily surpass 1000 subs with content such as this. I've been playing BF since 2011 and have watched numerous videos but FEW as informative as this one. It's the technical and strategical side of BF that many of us vets of BF/DICE want to know. Great job. Keep it up and thank you.
Absolutely fantastic guide Dan. The BF community needed this. I will say that Crawford's turret does do a decent amount of damage. it sorta sneaks up on the enemy and they seem to not understand where they are taking damage from in my experience. and you may want to take a look at that in any follow-up videos on this subject.
Thanks for commenting! In did test the damage of the crawford turret to figure out the numbers but entire community was talking about reworking both Boris and Crawford so I wasn't sure it was worth it, since I was expecting some significant changes. Fun fact: it does more damage from the rear and the sides just like most weapons. I didn't record the damage numbers, but from the rear, a full cycle (to overheating) deals about a third health of a MBT at close range. But good luck getting a full cycle off without getting blasted :D If people are interested, I'll definitely consider a follow-up!
Some additional tips from me: - EMP-Grenades. EMP-Grenades are actually a pretty effectiv tool against vehicles in close combat, because they disable any weapon AND countermeassure, even the APS (if it wasn't active while the grenade was thrown). On any unsuspecting enemy, and that is the most of them (because EMP-Grenades aren't widely used anymore), it's a huge shock to suddenly be unable to use anything for defense, especially when they had APS on the ready and suddenly can't use it anymore. This in turn, depending on the experience level, will bring them to do rash decisions which you can exploit. For example but mines behind them and watch them retreat into those mines. - Rao's hack: Basically the same as an EMP Grenade but with a greater distance and on demand. Rao is not a vehicle killer, but together with some pioneers he can really help put down some enemy vehicles. The only downside is some sort of short vulnerability and that it gets anounced for the enemy. - A really imortant one, Distraction: If enemy vehicles don't have anything to do, they are more aware of their surroundings (looking for mines, upsneaking enemies, etc.). Also most of them use outside camera in those situations. So they even see you when you sneak up to them from behind. But if they are distracted, by other vehicles or by you yourself, they suddenly have more tunnelvision and miss some mines or the enemy who sneaks up on them. Like in the video on 14:05 were you sneakedly put down mines and played afterwards the distraction until the Brawler drove over the mines. - LAT 50mm Cannon: This one is a bit special. It alone almost cannot kill a heavy armored enemy vehicle, but it can definitly put some decent damage on any enemy vehicles and this even from long ranges. Works best with a distraction for the enemy. So, if a enemy tank has to chose between you and your allied tank, you are suddenly not priority target one, which helps you put some extra damage into the enemy tank. Especially effective when you flank the enemy from a distance, which in turn enables you to snipe some pesky repair flies who stand behind the tank.
- EMP - I completely agree it is a very good throwable to use if you plan on focusing vehicles. However, I find it very hard to give up the versatility of my smoke grenades. - Rao - I love Rao in his current state, I think his hack tagging vehicles was a really good move on Dices part! I just wish you would get credit for helping after tagging a kill. - This is 100% true, I'll drive around in third person mode, then as soon as I am required to shoot I'll pop into first person. This is absolutely when I am most vulnerable in a vehicle and I suggest people playing with C5 take a note of this comment! - LAT 50mm cannon is really good against aircraft to, if you can hit them consistently. The only downside is that they are very weak vehicles and getting shot out of them while stationary is very common. Thanks for the great tips man! I'm gonna pin it for all to see!
I use the 50mm on the recon as a psuedo armor hunter, I find a nicely concealed spot, harass any light-medium armor, and relocate. I also support vs Heavy and Aircraft like the super hind where possible and if I can engage safely.
@@KillerOrca It doesn't stop *active* countermeasures. What you saw are experienced players. As I have stated, the enemy player knows when a hack is incoming. That is why they will pop their countermeasure just before they got hacked, so it is active while they are defenseless and use that time to go into cover or below radar. Is the same with the APS on vehicles, it's stays active even though the vehicle got hacked. But since vehicles aren't that fast into getting into cover it is a much heavier blow then for aircrafts. That is why EMPs are actually better in form of almost not getting announced. Since this video is about ground vehicles and how to defend against them, I stated the Rao's hack strategy. Against aircrafts it is not so effective in case of taking it down, BUT it will keep the enemy aircraft more at base then at the front, so it is still effectiv but in a different way.
See, I was worried I was going overboard with the countermeasure details when I was making it, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! APS is definitely something that isn't clear to a lot of players, and it can lead to a lot of frustration, so I'm happy I shed some light on it! Thanks for commenting!
Great info. I like your tip to keep your own team's vehicles repaired as an 'indirect' way to counter enemy vehicles. Vehicles of course counter other vehicles so supporting your vehicles where you can is helpful. Crewing your team's vehicles will make them more effective. Even just fighting as infantry near a friendly vehicle could help clear a path for it and allow it to push. If your ground vehicles are being hounded by air power try to clear the skies etc.
Absolutely! If you let your armour get destroyed, then your team is in for a bad time. Most of the one-sided games I've played I can definitely say were caused by one team having much better vehicle play. It's also worth saying that if you see you have an engineer repairing you: Don't drive away. It happens so often xD
I think the stealth chopper updates are great! Forcing people to stop and land to repair is just good balance. Especially now that most pilots will have the repair tool.
Man I couldn’t agree more about people just LOSING hard because of a tank on the field. It’s like nobody wants to win, they just want to play COD or something. If you’re not switching classes to get revenge on a tank or helicopter, you’re not having fun yet.
It's a critical part of BF games, in my opinion. It's what made the class system in previous games so interesting. Everyone had a role, and there wasn't a lot of cross-over. I'm glad they brought it back to 2042 but it needs more work in my opinion.
This is the level of detail battlefield players need to be thinking in! I see so many players just sticking to their preferred class no matter what happening in the match. I've always enjoyed adapting to the environment, if there's heavy vehicle presence I'll switch to Anti tank. Snipers, switch to counter snipe or flush them out with assault class. Heavy amounts of infantry, switch to assault or engineer and mow them down. Team mates dying constantly, switch to medic! If you have a good grounding in every class and specialist then you'll be an even better player for your team!
This is one of the reasons I much prefer the class system. It means that everyone isn't just running around with an M5 doing whatever they want. Just helps the all-round balance for everything in the game. For example, if you are playing really well in a tank, more people should be switching to engineer to stop you, then that means there are less medics so you are having a much larger impact in the game than you might actually perceive. I just wish they would give the Assault class the ammo crate instead of the medpen, since right now they don't really help out the team in any way that they can't help themselves. Plus more ammo on the battlefield would be appreciated by everyone.
@@marzipandan767 the assault class has always been a contentious one. I remember in previous games it was used more as a heavy class where they had light machine guns and ammo boxes? Now it's more of an infiltration class where your sole job is to basically cause trouble on the front line
NTW 50 also shreds vehicles classified as light, like the wildcat, bolte and ram. Gotta get behind them though. Also completely agree on 40mm AP. Criminally underrated
I just unlocked it and it's anti-vehicle rounds, unfortunately the cost to using them is losing your one shot kill body shot potential of the NTW. It's good being able to deal decent damage to light vehicles at range, but vs. tanks it only does 5 damage per rounds. I think I'll stick with my AP underbarrel for now. But damn I love the sound the NTW makes with every shot...
@Marzipan Dan anti vehicle rounds retain their 1 shot Potential, just drastically lowers the range of it. Either 50 or 60m if memory serves. I just have them on the plus menu if I ever find myself close to camping vehicles (since I'm a recon main and usually run soflam instead of c5) or in a prime spot to harass night birds. But yeah, overall it ain't great against heavy armour. Although still enough to finish off the odd vehicle here and there even with standard rounds, I take what I can get basically 😄 Subbed btw, checked some more of your content, real good stuff man
Very thorough. Something you showed, maybe accidentally, but didn’t mention as a con for the Javelin is that every now and then a teammate will spawn on you and walk in front of you breaking your attempt to lock on. I really miss being able to run Angel as an AT & AA Juggernaut. Unlimited rockets & mines and the ability to switch out without a redeploy - provided you had loadouts setup ahead of time. I will have to try Lis as AA. Not much luck for me running Lis in an AT role unless I also equip mines. I like to Tier 1 everything so I am running Javelin now but typically with Boris to get some additional passive kills.
Yeah, the lock is very Janky. Sometimes, it gets broken. By a twig and other times, you could see an inch of a tank, and it will manage a lock. Also, it's very frustrating when you have multiple vehicles in your sights... since it never knows what to focus on and sometimes jumps between vehicles. I wish you luck dealing with T1ing the Javelin, I can not say I envy your journey given the current state. I hope you have a lot of games filled with Rao's, Tracer darts, and soflams to help!
SOFLAM, SOFLAM, SOFLAM. It's crazy how many people don't know what soflam is when I speak about it in game. If you run recon and still want to be massively helpful to your AT friends, make sure you run soflam and target air and ground vehicles so all lock-on missiles work on any target - stingers work on tanks, aa vehicles can launch aa missiles at tanks, jets with ground missiles can target aircraft and so many players waste their flares or smoke as soon as they hear the target lock from your soflam, so missiles can all hit their target a few seconds after.
Personally, I'm a tracer dart enjoyer. If I feel like playing recon, I'll go Rao with the TD and I'll be tagging everything. The soflam is great but I always get bored holding it to tag while no one on my team is responding to it.
Thanks for doing the research and posting this! Typically I play infantry but have been getting tired of teams where no one is doing anything about the vehicles and everyone keeps dying. After watching this I feel I can put a good engineer load out together and start taking care of vehicles and contributing to the team more.
It's just frustrating when you are being rolled over by enemy armour and your entire team is playing recon or medic... Definitely let me know how it goes! The AP underbarrel takes a bit to get used to, but it is absolutely a must take in my opinion!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! As I mentioned, I did see random discrepancies in the numbers, which I couldn't explain, but in a test environment, those were the numbers I observed! They are mostly accurate. Hope they help! Thanks for commenting!
here's a tip for my Angle mains out there, please drop you resupply crate often. Engineers that resup from the crate will have there launcher fully loaded and allow them to continue fire rockets at armor. I've been playing frequently since season 4 and besides my own crates, I've only ever came across one other Angle crate.
I completely agree! I will rarely see these crates and I think it comes down to his kit not being fully explained. Occasionally, I'll see then throw the ammo pouches when engineers request ammo, but these do not replenish grenades, missiles, rockets or anything, only bullets.
Excellent breakdown for anti-tank and engineer gameplays. Very thorough, efficient and well presented. You deserve a lot more subs. Keep rockin it steady.
I took the liberty of sharing links to some of your guides in the official BF2042 forums. I really liked how when you see a problem you seem to study the problem and the tools you have in depth for the sake of overcoming it.
Just found your channel as a dude who's been playing BF since 2142 but just got back into 2042 after dropping it in season 1. Your tips are by far the best on the platform, it's rare for me to find content that actually translates into improving my skills.
Thanks man! Always happy to have another BF veteran back. I know it was very rough at first, but the game has improved a lot since then! Glad you enjoyed the video!
I have loved playing engineer sinceBad Company Always an uphill battle but being successful is tide turning and the reward is the sweetest of all classes. When u know you put a stop to their armor, u know u did something great
Nice guide, awesome job. One thing I wanted to add, you can drop 3 mines as an engineer and 4 from the bolte, for a total of 7. The 4 that deploy from the bolte are tagged to the driver so if you also get your squad to go into the Bolte and take turns you can litter an area with 16 mines from bolte and 12 mines from squad. I miss the plane from previous battlefields that can parachute 12 mines onto an enemy position and your squad could take turns dropping for 48 mines on an enemy main base road!
One thing I discovered is when Tanks are camping at the edges of map (out of bounds for your team like in breakthrough) surrounded by Irish sentinels, the NTW-50 can bypass them. If you get a squad together or message the team chat you can actually take them out pretty quick. Love the vid.
In the first 25 seconds of this video you've already demonstrated that you're smarter than 90% of the people in this game. I swear it's like I'm the only engineer in the entire team who tries to keep tanks and choppers at bay. It's like nobody realizes you can completely change characters and load outs in the middle of a game to deal with different threats and ranges
It's too convenient for people to just play Assault and just play solo... BF plays best when you have a diverse squad and team who is currently working together and PTFO. Thanks for your support, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks man xD It definitely didn't seem worth putting my time into doing the exact same content that the bigger youtubers are doing since that's content that everyone's already seen it there. Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow this video was way better than I expected. I just recently got 2042 and I’ve always preferred to play an anti vehicle role in battlefield, this video was a perfect breakdown for 2042
@@marzipandan767 exactly! Even the "assist counts as kill" mechanic would be welcome. Doing 99% of damage to a vehicle and a teammate comes and coughs on it to blow it up and gets all the credit doesn't feel great 🤣
The NTW is a solid choice as well. It deals good damage if you use the heavy AP rounds to shoot tracks, and is not blocked by any form of APS. Really, AP rounds in general should not be overlooked. Even though most guns won't even deal more than a point or two of damage per magazine, being hit by even 1 of those bullets will cancel the repair kit and delay auto-heal. The damage indicators they cause can also draw attention away from other players that are better equipped and dealing more damage.
For a little extra spice, there’s also the anti-armor rounds that come with the four weapons you mentioned. Slap it on the LCMG and you can actually deter vehicles off objectives. Most vehicles run at the first sight of damage so having it on hand is a nice little extra damage to stack if you wanna min-max this to memehood.
I've used them once and was pretty underwhelmed. Would you recommend running them now? Is the damage decent vs. Armour? And do the bullets feel much less effective vs. infantry?
@@marzipandan767 Cant say 100% but the ak24 feels good with AP as much as standard, didn't feel too much worse, on other weapons probably more notable though
This is a great vid, and shows that dealing with vehicles really takes quite the effort, unlike crutching on them, but still we see all these vehicle crutchers whining on reddit about people calling them out.
Yeah, being of the mindset that whenever you get killed by something, it must be 'OP' isn't very productive. I think it's best to come up your own strategies to figure out what works. Soloing a vehicle is tough, but it can be done! Now if dice could give me some valueless 'You are a good player' points for taking out tanks, so I can flex to my team, I'll be happy xD Thanks for commenting man!
Great vid. Another advantage armor has vs AT infy besides unlimited ammo is the 3rd person camera. They can see over walls, then shoot you through them, and makes placing c5 on them much more difficult. Also i cant figure out how tanks can shoot me while im standing on top of them dropping c5, but they do.
Thanks for commenting! The 3rd person camera is so valuable for them and as someone trying to deal with them you have no idea if they are currently using 3rd person or not, so you are never sure if you have been noticed or not. I'm not sure why that might be. I know if someone gets up on me, I'll switch to the second seat to use the mounted gun to try to deal with them.
This is a great overview of how to deal with vehicles. Great job. 👍 I've running these set ups for a while now anyway. But I did learn a few tips there. Like leaning away when locked on with a Javelin. You did however miss one other small way to damage vehicles. AP rounds. They will not do a lot of damage. But they are effective for finishing off vehicles or just getting them to back off if their health is low. If I'm running the LCMG I have them in my 2nd plus system slot for that purpose. Every little helps if you're throwing everything at them.
Thanks man! I appreciate you commenting! I had some person pinging me with AP rounds while I was in a wildcat the other day and they weren't too effective. The problem with AP rounds is you either need to take them as your main source of ammo in which case your infantry game is crippled, or you need to spend time switching to them and reloading in the T menu, which usually when the opportunity to fight a vehicle comes up, you don't have the time to do so. I will say that they are good at interrupting the repair function.
My go-to AT setup is Lis with the SFAR, AT Mines, just so much damage to enemy vehicles. I use the TGM most and then the UGL/mines when I anticipate more close range fights. Great video, I definitely might try out the smokes too!
You'll get it. Learning Lis can be difficult, but she is absolutely one of the most fun and valuable specialists. And the AT mines are so much fun, a friend, Timeless Gamer made a really good video about them if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/IjHNMVq9LkM/w-d-xo.html Hope to see you out on the battlefield!
this video is amazing! hardcore infantry player here who hates nothing more than vehicles so will be heading straight to the heli counter video as well
I just started playing this but in bf4 and older ones, i loved dedicating myself to flag captures and anti armor. I will likely end up trying to play the same style with this one
It's my favourite role. Not having as much ammo means you really have to work fast and hard to get those solo tank kills, and when you get them, you feel like you have just conquered a boss :) Good luck man, and thanks for the comments!
People are sleeping on AP 40mm's. Convinced my Battle Buddys to finally adopt them, really nice to give them a spotlight in this guide. I really wish the launchers had more ammo tho. AP + Thermal Smoke and Repair Tool Tank Players are impossible to kill solo, expecially when they farm kills from spawn.
I know right? AP underbarrel might be the best kept secret in this game. I've been having a lot of success soloing tanks lately with the AP, and either of the combinations I mentioned in the video, dont get me wrong, if the driver is good, then they can definitely get away, its never a guarantee. The only thing I can't typically solo is MAVs because they just take so much punishment to take out...
plying as Liz is so much fun being able to destroys vehicles from long range and able to run up to throw at mines or c5. You also forgot to mention that when you place down your at mines if you die they will not despawn.
She's definitely my favourite! I love nailing nightbirds and stealths. It's so good! You are right. I did forget! It used to be that this wasn't a feature, so mines were garbage. I'm glad they reworked them.
Fantastic video, I really enjoyed that. Repair torching the MAV was superb :) I don't really have anything to add other than my wholehearted agreement the scoreboard doesn't remotely reflect the efforts we Engineers make. Fortunately it doesn't really matter too much, but yeah -- every now and then a 'thank you' for keeping the vehicles alive & the Choppers / Jets out of the air would be appreciated XD Great stuff mate, you set the bar for videos these days.
I know right, probably going to make it a YTShort since I think it was such a good clip. I agree it doesn't matter, but I like being able to see how I fair against other players, it's also a great measure for how much I have improved. Hell, I'd even settle for a 'Most Vehicles Destroyed' at the end of the game. Speak for yourself man! Really enjoying your content too! We should play together sometime!
@@marzipandan767 Yeah that would be great to get some games in, superb actually. You in UK? I'm out in Singapore for work, but let's find some time to play! You know anyone else who'd be up for a game? I would absolutely love to see what an actual squad could achieve in this game (especially with at least 2 Engineers, our Vehicles will be Immortal). Add me any time!!
@@timelessgamer_UK US East, so it might be best to wait until you are back in the UK so that the ping isn't unimaginably high. All my friends ditched BF right around the time the beta was released xD
@@marzipandan767 Ah right a fellow Brit overseas. Did a few years in NYC. I won't be back in the UK until mid July (trip home needs to align with the boy's school calendar). I'm up for giving it a shot, I can always sit in the back with a repair tool :D If it's too high we'll scrap it until Summer 2023. Sound alright?
I recently learned that mines can be used as grenades. You can drop/fling on mines on vehicles using them as large grenades. You don't have to wait for the tank to run over a mine. it's fun and interesting😄
Absolutely! You have to be careful though since they have a habit of making your destruction attempt a suicide run xD My friend Timeless Gamer does a great series playing around with the AT mines, if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/IjHNMVq9LkM/w-d-xo.html
I always used the boost of the TGM so get to the enemy armour before they realize the missile is coming lol it usually works and I remember I tried using the AP weapons like last year or years ago and it sucked…barely did anything but I guess they fixed that
AP Underbarrel is not the same as AP rounds. The AP Underbarrel grenade launcher on the weapons it is offer on does more APS than the M5 does. I would strongly recommend it if you haven't tried it. Its available on the AK24, SFAR, AK 5C, SVK, LCMG, STRIFE LMG.
Liz with SFAR under barrel, mines and EMP grenades is the ultimate toolkit. People still haven't realised that mines are god tier in this game, there's no activation delay and you throw them further than other Battlefields so they're just better C5s
The SFAR was my absolute go to weapon since day 1. Mines are so good! It's just sad that Lis is the only character I'll likely ever use them on. I totally agree with you regarding the C5 :)
More videos like this are definitely needed. With the game being on PSPLUS this month it'll definitely draw some viewers. I feel like I need a general video going through the class benefits cause the single sentence in game doesn't really show what things can do that clearly 😂.
Yeah, I feel like if you aren't a battlefield veteran then class roles might not be too clear. Especially with assault class just doing kind of its own thing... Thanks for commenting!
What about the 50cal barret? also, any armor pen bullets work on the wildcats? I been playing Lis all week, and completly agree on the last part, we need more rewards for killing vehicles and also see how many destroyed or how much damage to vehicles you did.
The 50cal is definitely something I neglected to try. After they nerfed the Rail gun damage against tanks, I didn't think it was worth trying it. Maybe I'll investigate it in a follow-up video after testing it. The AP bullets for LMGs (and I think assault rifles) are not good. The damage is so low, and you give away your position so much. Not worth it, in my opinion. Especially compared to taking an AP launcher. It's so frustrating not being highlighted as doing all of the AT for your team...
From what I remember, 50 cal was nerfed into the ground. Unless the tank is 90% destroyed and running away while on fire, I personally don’t think its worth using over the under barrel grenade launcher. It’s still a decent sniper against infantry but I’ve yet to see the 50 cal do anything against vehicles after it’s nerf.
@DefualtPlayer I've definitely been pinged by it while in a tank, and it was more annoying than dangerous. Same with the Railgun on single fire. But yeah, the AP underbarrel is king against vehicles!
AK-24 has the fastest under-barrel attachment/s reload animation in the game, possibly the best gun for the engineer class considering the utility it brings to the table. Extremely versatile. You would think a gun like the SFAR, which has an intrinsically built in under-barrel, would have the fastest reload in the game but i guess that’s just not the reality.
Thanks for the kind words man! When I was making it, I was worried I'd lose people by going over the countermeasures in such detail, so I'm very happy to hear that!
Bf1 did it well. I had a team, and my other guy had 100+ kills, but I had 15 vehicles destroyed, including the armoured train. It got me on the highlight, I was flying the tank gun plane at the time
Never used anything before t Liz or Rao with C5 and NTW-50. I love you sing bolt with fwd missiles and mine layer as driver. You can really own if you stay on the move. With the TGM you can guide it over hills and on top of buildings and kill hiding vehicles and high top infantry.
this is why i almost always use the lcmg on ALL classes. all my underbarrel attachments are the launchers. specially when my dilemma choice between engi/support, depending on the day/mood when playing
It is a great weapon! It was the first weapon I T1'd and still use it all of the time. Even more so after discovering my love for the AP underbarrel! But I do like to mix it up. Recently I've been playing with the SVK to unlock it's AP launcher and it is amazing! It two shots at most engagement ranges.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it :) You should definitely start seeing more success, even if the only thing you took away from this is that you should use the AP underbarrel :P Thanks for commenting!
I don't really get why they did it. Their reasoning seemed very flimsy to me 'Because rockets were being used against infantry' I feel like I've been killed by them less than 10 times... I've been having trouble getting used to the new velocities, I used to be really good at sniping choppers with the RPG but lately I've been missing everything.
It's not rewarding and almost boring to play AT roles in BF2042. And if you want to take out enemy armor, don't do it alone. Find a squad of friends that are willing to do it alongside you.
I don't think it's very rewarding but I think it can be fun. When you launch that last hit into them and they pop like a grape underfoot, it's hard not to feel awesome 😆
I slightly agree, while I think it's fun to go after them, it was more satisfying for example in bf2. I loved the sraw and used to combine it with the Dao, so you had a deadly weapon against infantry at close range and a nice rocket launcher against anything a bit further away
This video is pure gold. I've grinded Lis tier 1, so i've a few tips. To kill any tank go for the combo: 1 Lis rocket, reload, 3 AP grenades and finish with the last rocket. Kill recently empty vehicles they still count for tier 1. I want them to buff M5 and rework Boris and Crawford, they are really bad to play
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the kind words! That's the Lis wombo combo! I definitely think they should buff the M5 a little or at least give us an RPG that does more damage to vehicles but lower splash damage.
subbed! such a fantastic guide and excellent presentation. this video has me so stoked, you might have just pulled me back into the game. although bf2042 is not among the games i play at the moment, engineer has always been one of my favourite classes in any bf game, of all time played about 50/50 between engineer and support. also that clip towards the end of you chasing the tank up and down that ravine with your repair tool is hilarious!
Glad to have you back. I don't know how long it has been since you took a break but the game is definitely getting better! I would say I'm the same 50/50 engineer/support. I'm planning on playing around with the recon class soon (I'll probably avoid snipers though because I suck with them). I don't like assault because there is no way to really benefit your squad. I really wish they would give them the ammo crate instead of the medpen. I know, I can't believe I didn't get the kill in the end! I was so close! Almost a perfect BF clip xD
@@marzipandan767 only about two months, so not too long. i tried to motivate my friends to get back on the game with me - we were all so hyped at launch before the inevitable realization and disappointment set in - but none of them is interested anymore and some are still angry at ea to this day.
As an addition to the rpg suggestion, I think adding a proper 20mm anti-armor rifle gadget or even something similar to a Neopup PAW 20mm grenade launcher (made by the same dude who designed the NTW sniper too btw) with some kind of fictional ap grenades could be good for an "harasser" role where you keep doing small but noticeable bursts of damage to tanks from medium ranges Like a little bellow underbarrel grenade launcher in damage but with a decent rof, faster flying grenades with less drop. Auto repair disabling for days And if you'd go rifle route just put a 1 shot 20 mm rifle(gadget) that is middle damage between m5 and underbarrel ap nades, make it not one shot infantry for the love of all that is good in this world and find out how people pick apart and abuse your ideas cause a game balancer I ain't
Those are some good suggestions! I'm always up for more variety and solutions to vehicles. Hopefully, Dice is looking into adding more things like this. And yeah, I agree. It shouldn't one-shot infantry.
Hopefully the RPG coming with season 5 will be a good anti-tank option with that ~10% damage increase at the cost of splash damage! Can't wait to get my hands on it!
That strategy has saved me so many times. Climb on up, and if you aren't randomly roadkilled, they always panic. It's great for stealing vehicles too: th-cam.com/users/shorts__qiItN4yNA?feature=share
Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. They did nerf it a while back so now the AP underbarrel it only has 2 rounds, but it is still very useful if you need that extra bit of damage. If you want to go full anti-vehicle, go Crawford with an RPG, AT Grenade and AT underbarrel grenade launcher. Happy hunting :)
Idk if it still in the game, but from what Ai remember,in BF 4 the soflam and the DLP (binocular thing, can't remember its exact name) could tag enemy helicopters as well, granting Javelins G2A capability. Of course,it requires a teammate but it is stupidly effective
The soflam is in the game and it works as you said. It gives the Javelin a top down attack, in which it does more damage, but can still be countered by Thermal smoke, APS and flares on choppers.
Just came across yr channel. I’ve T1 all my support & assault classes, have been thinking about playing engineer class. I will do after watching this great, in-depth vid! Great content. You’ve earned a sub from me 👍🏼
I definitely would recommend it! The AP underbarrel is an absolute must to have success! Definitely give it a go an let me know! I've been having a lot of fun with the SVK it two shots at most of my engagement ranges and allows me to take the underbarrel!
happy to see (or rather hear) that you invested in a pop filter (or moved away from your mic) in your most recent video, this one is kind of a lot. still very good tho, thanks for the detailed guide
Haha :) Yeah, I feel like I'm good at video editing and image editing, but when it comes to audio, I am an absolute wreck. Honestly this video was made with a pop filter, but my damn 'P's' were still popping xD For the most recent I did some EQ and Normalization and that seemed to fix most of it. Going forward I hope that I can keep improving. Thanks for the feedback man, it really helps!!!
One area not discussed is the ability to hack/EMP vehicles with a drone. Many drivers are oblivious, especially with the drone right above them. You can massively suppress a clueless driver with repeated hacks, and many drivers will flee since they're defenseless for a moment.
I would definitely pull back if I was hacked or EMPd from somewhere unseen. This will definitely work if you want to harass them but probably won't kill them.
Your video is a good tutorial and you are correct i have seen and felt that type of superiority when the other team is overwhelming me with certain vehicles including the tank and I mean you have to switch to a different specialist and i truly like playing as one specialist my favorite one all the time in every game. I have a few other favorite ones but we all know when we like a particular specialist to play as. Just as in fighting games our favorite character to play as. So yes what your saying speaks volumes. So true.💯💛👍
Thanks for the kind words! It happens so frequently, and I think sometimes it's difficult to notice since your team will be getting absolutely demolished and you'll have no vehicle support. Changing is critical in those moments. I definitely have my favourites too, and sometimes I just want to force playing support, but it will normally end in losing. Especially if my team isn't dealing well with enemy armour. Thanks for your supportive comment!
Great video, thanks for the reminder about the AP underbarrel. I stopped using the SFAR like a year ago after I T1'd it, but nice to know what other weapons the AP underbarrel is on. I'll also add, there are AP rounds on some guns, but hit and miss as to whether they actually work. For example, both the LCMG and Avancys they don't seem to work properly. The PKP does work, but the damage is negligible. Can be enough to finish off or stop a repair though!
Thanks for commenting, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've been playing with the SVK to unlock its AP launcher, and it's an absolute beast. It 2 shots enemies who are most of my typical engagement range and 3 shots at further ranges. I'd definitely recommend trying it out if you fancy something a little different on your engineers. The AP Rounds are decent, but you sacrifice a lot to use them, or you use the T menu to swap into them and need to use a who reload cycle to get it equipped. I tested with the LCMG just last night, and it seems to be working against a main battle tank.
@@marzipandan767 Yeah that reload cycle is a massive disadvantage. Really only useful if you're avoiding infantry fights in general. I've started to level up the SVK in solo, DMRs have not been great for me in this game, I miss too many shots 🤣 Gotta stick to blowing up vehicles I guess. Glad I found your channel, not sure why my feed hasn't picked it up before. Keep posting great content!
@@PProph I'm usually the same, with the exception of the BSV-M which is an absolute powerhouse, I never really played with them since I couldn't hit anything, but after putting some time in with the SVK trying to unlock the underbarrel I am finally figuring out the bullet velocity and managing to land most of my shots. Well I'm glad you did find it :)
Your content is very good! Can you make a video about every type of soldier like mg, assault, smg or good combinations between specials and wich weapons to use? Thanks
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think there are better youtubers out there who have done a really good job at explaining which weapons are effective and their best loadouts. I recommend Catalyst_HD he did a really good job: th-cam.com/video/eHtPk2A2M5g/w-d-xo.html Personally, I really like using the BSV-M, once you get the high-powered extended mag on it, it absolutely shreds at most ranges! I love the LCMG becuase it's recoil is so little you can deal really good damage at decently far ranges, plus you can take the AP underbarrel! I would put a extended mag on it with a silencer, for those sweet flanks. Finally, I love the SFAR, I would put on AP underbarrel and drum magazine. The weapon is just perfect at most realistic ranges. Hope this helps!
the javelin does shoot through walls when you first fire it 😂🎉 i was laying under a semi in the middle of the map completely out of sight just sniping tanks and no one knew where it was coming from 😂 also works inside houses depending on roof height , once it’s it the air tho if it hits anything else it’s gonna blow up and miss 🤷🏽♂️
Thanks for sharing! I didn't know that. It seems weird that Dice made it interact like this, instead of just exploding once it makes first contact like all of the other rockets/missiles.
Why are the RPG, AT Grenade and the SRAW missing? Well, they have their own videos:

Sadly most people could care less about team coordination, anti-air, anti-armor, and are just trying to be a one man army.
I agree. That's why we need to dominate the scoreboard playing as cooperatively as possible to show them that they should also be playing with their team.

Don't you love it when you're down and there's a medic literally standing next to you doing nothing? 🙈
Im choosing recon, using Soflam to target mark all vehicles and no one care. All they do just send rockets and I agree about medics too. I think EA should give a lesson what are medics jobs. If they dont revive ally, EA change their class automatically.
@@Targon999 ooh god yea

Liz is still the ultimate. Tv missile for ground and air, c5 for close range and emp to disable tanks. Most complete engineer!
It's definitely better than I was expecting vs. ground vehicles. It's kind of sad... she already dominates the sky. The only thing making the M5 a little appealing is having 4 rounds on you... but even then, you need to find an ammo crate first...
@@marzipandan767 we need more dump rockets launcher variety. This game infantry and vehicle balance is still work in progress
@Jay absolutely! As I mentioned they should add over the RPG and the SRAW from portal! More variety is always welcome.
@@zedster8200the g84 takes out smaller helicopters in one shot plus is good at taking out snipers/campers or chasing weak tanks
Plus it’s fun 😂👍
A tip for the at mine. If you do a mine and then shoot it. It leaves a crater that you can use to hide the two mines you have left. They can be easily spotted if just let on the ground. Although any crater will do.
I do find myself hiding them in craters, but I've never thought about using an AT mine to create a new crater, good tip! I do recommend putting them on the edge of the crater, sometimes I've seen tanks run right over my concealed mines and they haven't detonated because they are too deep in the crater.
This channel is small but it produces golden content. Nice job.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm very happy that you enjoyed it!
No joke content is very good for only 2K subs I honestly thought I was watching with someone upwards of 50 K
Size doesn't matter, ur wife told me that 😂😂❤😂🎉🎉
My biggest issue with playing anti-tank is the lack of people dropping ammo. I'm glad when I die as it means ammo.
I agree it is frustrating. I'll never pass up the opportunity to run off the beaten path to grab ammo from a crate on the minimap.
@@marzipandan767 engineer with ammo crate, let's petition kk
You will easily surpass 1000 subs with content such as this. I've been playing BF since 2011 and have watched numerous videos but FEW as informative as this one. It's the technical and strategical side of BF that many of us vets of BF/DICE want to know. Great job. Keep it up and thank you.
Here's hoping! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm also happy to hear some BF vets such as myself are still playing BF2042 :)
@@marzipandan767 How does the grenade launcher fit into all this?
But good luck getting a full cycle off without getting blasted :D
If people are interested, I'll definitely consider a follow-up!
Some additional tips from me:
- EMP-Grenades.
@@oshadow8325 i also use this on the recon 😂, adding also driving backwards to a spot so infantry cant snipe/shoot you from the front of the vehicle
Does Rao's hack disable countermeasures? I swear Ive seen heli's Ive hacked pop flares the moment my teammates send a stinger their way.
I really like your in-depth explanation on the game mechanics, its good knowledge, especially the active time for the APS and also the cooldown.
@@marzipandan767 I've been that engineer a few times lol
“Clearing the skies” is a difficult prospect in BF2042
I agree with the counter measure being shared in the same slot, like they did to the stealth helis.
Although still enough to finish off the odd vehicle here and there even with standard rounds, I take what I can get basically 😄
Subbed btw, checked some more of your content, real good stuff man
Very thorough.
Stinger works on tanks? Wtf
This is absurdly thorough. Thankyou so much for the effort you put into this. It's amazing. Very detailed.
Thank you so much for the kind words and for commenting! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
And thank you for the damage numbers chart on the vehicles, it really helps.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! As I mentioned, I did see random discrepancies in the numbers, which I couldn't explain, but in a test environment, those were the numbers I observed! They are mostly accurate. Hope they help!

here's a tip for my Angle mains out there, please drop you resupply crate often.
Thanks for the kind words! I am happy that you enjoyed them! I will!

I have loved playing engineer sinceBad Company
Always an uphill battle but being successful is tide turning and the reward is the sweetest of all classes.
Oh my god that is crazy! You could literally make a minefield. Sounds like a very fun thing to do with a squad! Thanks for the tips man!
One thing I discovered is when Tanks are camping at the edges of map (out of bounds for your team like in breakthrough) surrounded by Irish sentinels, the NTW-50 can bypass them. If you get a squad together or message the team chat you can actually take them out pretty quick.
Love the vid.
That sounds like a good strategy! Getting everyone riled up about an annoying enemy can definitely work sometimes.

Engineer, even now in season 6, is such a thankless and unrewarding role in this game
I just want my vehicle kills to be reflected in the scoreboard :/ Is that so much to ask DICE!
@@marzipandan767 exactly! Even the "assist counts as kill" mechanic would be welcome. Doing 99% of damage to a vehicle and a teammate comes and coughs on it to blow it up and gets all the credit doesn't feel great 🤣
This is perfect! Was looking for this all over the internet
Thanks, I'm glad you found it!
Hope it helps you melt some enemy armour!
Great info mate, ty. Havent seen this kind of content that i really enjoyed watching since Jackfrags in BF4.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Being compared to JackFrags is a high honour!
@@oshadow8325 it will be hard to put down the drum mag, but swapping out an assualt rifle magazine is much faster than changing out a whole MG box.
Now if dice could give me some valueless 'You are a good player' points for taking out tanks, so I can flex to my team, I'll be happy xD
Thanks for commenting man!
Great job. 👍
I've running these set ups for a while now anyway.
Very complete overview!!! Thank you!
You are welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for commenting!
El tutorial más completo que he visto sobre cómo enfrentar vehículos para quienes amamos hacerlos estallar. Nuevo suscriptor 😎👍🏽
Thanks man! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I really appreciate your kind comment and subscription!
I didn't know you can pick up enemy mines. That's awesome.
My go-to AT setup is Lis with the SFAR, AT Mines, just so much damage to enemy vehicles. I use the TGM most and then the UGL/mines when I anticipate more close range fights. Great video, I definitely might try out the smokes too!
Thanks for commenting! I definitely recommend smokes on every loadout, the flexibility they give is just too valuable in this game!
Thank You Sir, I'll probably try ATM an underbarrel GL with Lis... ! I miss a lot but i got a lotta fun when i hit a full tank crew !!!
You'll get it. Learning Lis can be difficult, but she is absolutely one of the most fun and valuable specialists. And the AT mines are so much fun, a friend, Timeless Gamer made a really good video about them if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/IjHNMVq9LkM/w-d-xo.html
Hope to see you out on the battlefield!
this video is amazing! hardcore infantry player here who hates nothing more than vehicles so will be heading straight to the heli counter video as well
Awesome! I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for commenting too!
@marzipandan767 no problem man, thanks for the good content
Nice video, that scene with that vehicle you attacked with the welding tool made me laugh 😂
Damn, this was the most informative 2042 video I’ve ever seen, good job man!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the comment!
@@marzipandan767 agreed, but a team of focused AT's with M5's and AP's will shred. Good Guide my bro.
plying as Liz is so much fun being able to destroys vehicles from long range and able to run up to throw at mines or c5.
Best guides I’ve seen for this game. Keep it up!
Thanks! I appreciate your kind words! I'll certainly try!
By far the most informative video ive seen on this 👊 Thanks man!
Happy it could help! Thanks for commenting!
Fantastic video, I really enjoyed that. Repair torching the MAV was superb :)
I don't really have anything to add other than my wholehearted agreement the scoreboard doesn't remotely reflect the efforts we Engineers make. Fortunately it doesn't really matter too much, but yeah -- every now and then a 'thank you' for keeping the vehicles alive & the Choppers / Jets out of the air would be appreciated XD
Great stuff mate, you set the bar for videos these days.
I'm up for giving it a shot, I can always sit in the back with a repair tool :D
If it's too high we'll scrap it until Summer 2023. Sound alright?
@@timelessgamer_UK sure! I'll DM my steam username
I recently learned that mines can be used as grenades. You can drop/fling on mines on vehicles using them as large grenades. You don't have to wait for the tank to run over a mine. it's fun and interesting😄
Absolutely! You have to be careful though since they have a habit of making your destruction attempt a suicide run xD
My friend Timeless Gamer does a great series playing around with the AT mines, if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/IjHNMVq9LkM/w-d-xo.html
WOW! Tons of useful information. I've never seen such a complete guide.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting!
Im hooked. Now i cant wait to put this into play. Great tactical and strategic breakdowns.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been having a lot of fun as Engineer lately and I hope that you do too! Happy hunting!
I didn't even consider that the underbarrels would have different reload speeds! This is super useful to know. Thanks for sharing!
Great video this will help me out with armor as an engineer, are we not gonna talk about you riding the tank like its the rodeo at 24:00
Man excellent presentation. For a video of this length it as engaging start to end!
Man this was so informative! Great vid dude!
I'm very happy that you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting!
Thanks for the guide. I learned alot from this! As a solo im looking to up my anti armor game and this info will help a lot.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it :) You should definitely start seeing more success, even if the only thing you took away from this is that you should use the AP underbarrel :P Thanks for commenting!
Cant believe they nerfed the m5 and rpg velocities
I don't really get why they did it. Their reasoning seemed very flimsy to me 'Because rockets were being used against infantry' I feel like I've been killed by them less than 10 times...
I've been having trouble getting used to the new velocities, I used to be really good at sniping choppers with the RPG but lately I've been missing everything.
@@marzipandan767 yeah I think im gonna just swap to Liz rockets for the attack choppers now, the new velocities seem just as slow
Very very detailed. Nice work, chief. Stay safe out there.
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the comment and kind words.
As an addition to the rpg suggestion, I think adding a proper 20mm anti-armor rifle gadget or even something similar to a Neopup PAW 20mm grenade launcher (made by the same dude who designed the NTW sniper too btw) with some kind of fictional ap grenades could be good for an "harasser" role where you keep doing small but noticeable bursts of damage to tanks from medium ranges
Like a little bellow underbarrel grenade launcher in damage but with a decent rof, faster flying grenades with less drop. Auto repair disabling for days
And if you'd go rifle route just put a 1 shot 20 mm rifle(gadget) that is middle damage between m5 and underbarrel ap nades, make it not one shot infantry for the love of all that is good in this world and find out how people pick apart and abuse your ideas cause a game balancer I ain't
Those are some good suggestions! I'm always up for more variety and solutions to vehicles. Hopefully, Dice is looking into adding more things like this. And yeah, I agree. It shouldn't one-shot infantry.
This video is great. I think all the damage should be upped by 10%, or a longer spawn cooldown.
Hopefully the RPG coming with season 5 will be a good anti-tank option with that ~10% damage increase at the cost of splash damage! Can't wait to get my hands on it!
Blasco is the best ATGM countermeasure. Once that jammer is down, no more Javlin SOFLAM etc. Put it behind the tank and it’s completely protected.
Then put Irish sentinels in front of the tank and then you can't get any unguided shots in... I kind of hate it xD
I found it hilarious the clip at 24:05 when you jump on the AA and start burning it with the repair tool and they start panicking lol
That strategy has saved me so many times. Climb on up, and if you aren't randomly roadkilled, they always panic. It's great for stealing vehicles too: th-cam.com/users/shorts__qiItN4yNA?feature=share
What an amazing video. Lots of great information to think about. I never thought about using the grenade launcher.
@@marzipandan767 haha love it. My favorite is the McKay grapple to c5
Great video man!

Honestly this video was made with a pop filter, but my damn 'P's' were still popping xD
For the most recent I did some EQ and Normalization and that seemed to fix most of it. Going forward I hope that I can keep improving. Thanks for the feedback man, it really helps!!!
excellent video for any new or experienced battlefield player.
Thanks man! I appreciate the kind words and the comment!
Only 1.21k!!!!! Fresh subbed to you dude. Awesome and easy to digest breakdown. Would love more videos like this as a relatively new 2042 player
Thanks for supporting me man! I really appreciate it! I'm definitely up for doing more!
Insanely great guide, great explanations, great visuals, just fantastic all around. Easy sub and looking forward to what you've got next :)
Thanks for commenting and subbing! I really appreciate it! I'll try my best!

Thanks :) I'm planning on making a short addendum to this covering the RPG and the AT grenade soon. Happy hunting my friend!
I recommend Catalyst_HD he did a really good job: th-cam.com/video/eHtPk2A2M5g/w-d-xo.html
Personally, I really like using the BSV-M, once you get the high-powered extended mag on it, it absolutely shreds at most ranges!
