I have to be honest, I didn't have high expectations when I started this video but you already got me with tip no 1. You described EXACTLY ME. I had food noise all the time for decades (although people consider me fit). When real stress came up, health issues in the family and such, I had enough and deliberately stopped worrying about how I look for a while. I gained a few kilos but at least the noise was mostly gone. Now most issues are settled and I want to get back to my old body, I started IF again and the noise came right back, also the nightly overeating. Two further tips: (i) prioritise protein and low to no processed foods and (ii) stop sugars. Stopping sugars hurts two days max but then you're good.
I got SUPER lucky that my mind is hyper-oriented around numbers, because I could simply identify a target for the day, and I enjoyed putting the puzzle together - 200 here, 600 there, 800 here, 150 there, voila, target hit! I can TOTALLY see how people would get totally messed up with calorie counting. I was absolutely one of the folks you referred to with intermittent fasting, though. That lasted about a month, before the people around be told me I had to stop. It was miserable. This video is GOLD for people struggling with food.
I have been struggling with BED since very little. Aside from the obvious mental issues that led me to this path, what has truly helped me with food noise was starting my breakfast with a VERY high fat and high protein meal. I save the carbs for my last meals. It seems to truly keep me fuller for much longer.
I’ve been dealing with this the last couple weeks. I go to a counselor anyway and he’s really helped. Since I’m religious I also might add a spiritual aspect to it if someone is religious. That way you have help on all sides. However this has just helped me, so take it with a grain of salt. Thank you for all your help.
I recently stopped eating ultra processed foods and increased my fruits and vegetables. I was doing this just to decrease osteoarthritis inflammation and it completely took away my cravings for sweets and junk food! It was insane! This motivated me to start checking ingredients and eating more Whole Foods and things with minimal ingredients. I still don’t quite understand it but I’m so happy! I’ve struggled with cravings for YEARS! You may mention some of this in your video, not sure. I just started watching. 😊
@@GM-ue8xc all vegetables, fruits, protein (grass fed grass finished or pasture raised when I can afford it), beans, legumes, nuts, and seeds, etc. i try to eat organic when I can afford it but not all the time. I use olive oil and avocado oil. I cut seed oils. If I do packaged foods I check the ingredients for seed oils, sugar, etc and make sure the ingredients don’t have anything unnatural in them. Bobby Parrish has excellent videos explaining ingredients to look out for and gives better options that don’t have all the processed stuff. I cut out the ultra processed foods. I did all of this to assist with inflammation and as a result my cravings went away and I started to lose weight. 🥰. I also started using stevia, honey, and coconut sugar as a sweetener when necessary but I don’t crave sweets like I used to so I find I only use it in my coffee and that’s mostly stevia and a tbsp of local raw honey. I also make my own chocolate now for the rare occasion I want something or eat a little of a HU bar. I taught myself how to make homemade tortillas and I’m working on making my own bread. I don’t eat these things often because I don’t crave them now but I’d rather have them homemade.
Dude I just started watching your channel ( 2 videos watched so far) and I have to say that your videos are absolutely amazing and so extremely valuable. People need to hear this stuff and your so underrated! Great all around information in an entertaining and informative way!
Although I fully agree with #2 today, I also have to admit it helped me tremendously at the beginning. When I started my weight loss journey, I had a terrible relationship with food, and every time I started eating, my main challenge was I couldn't stop. So, eating less frequently reduced the frequency of having to stop me every single time. It worked great for a good three years.
This is an amazing video, I have struggled with this for years and I have recently implemented some of these, higher fat foods, bigger meals, high protein snacks, more fruit and veg and it has made such a massive difference 😃
As a person who struggles with an undiagnosed eating disorder and stuggles heavily with food noise, I genuinely appreciate your videos! Thank you so much! I signed up for your emails! 🤗 It makes me feel better to hear you say the things that I try to tell people don't work for me... IF, counting calories, etc. With food noise, no matter how much you've eaten, the closer you get to 0 calories, the hungrier you get and louder it gets! I have a profound appreciation for the way you look at things from all angles and your genuine want to help others! 🙏🏽 Thank you!
I also loved your suggestion - in another video I think - regarding stress eating, e,g. extra snacks when you're objectively not hungry. I think you said if you're stressing you out about the snack, just put it off 20 minutes. If you still want it after 20 mins, eat it. I've been doing that, adding a nice drink of water and a brisk walk around the room when the craving hits, and I have to say, sometimes I just don't want it any longer after 20 mins. Other times, I still do, and I eat without a second thought! Thank you Jordan, such straight-to-the-point and interesting videos.
One of the BEST videos you've done so far. Thank you so much for all you do for the community and for us who love your content and look forward to your videos and podcast!
All of these are helpful tips. I meet with a nutritionist monthly because I deal with childhood trauma when it comes to food. All these suggestions are in alignment with what my nutritionist says as well. Thanks for always speaking the FACTS! Love the truth!
This video literally brought tears to my eyes. I felt so seen and heard. I’ve struggled with this issue my entire life. And the help you shared in this video gave me hope and answers I’ve looked my whole life for. Thank you thank you thank you. You’ve no idea how much you’ve helped me!!!!!
Therapy really helped me! It was hard finding someone, just be sure you ask specifically for "eating disorder" even if your like me and didnt think you fell into that category. This video is spot on, tons of great tips I'm using/going to implement
1st video I watched! It was great! I definitely struggle, and I'm going to implement some of your suggestions. My new mantra is "I am safe." It's a good reminder that what I'm feeling or thinking isn't an emergency. I'm the queen of snacking and not having meals... first thing I'm working to change. Thank you for always teaching us and keeping it real!
Jordan, this video has been so helpful to me!!! I struggle with food noise so much and considered intermittent fasting but I will definitely not do it because of the way you explained it is not good for me.
This is a very helpful video. I’ve been trying to lose weight and pretty miserable every day because I’m so hungry and I keep eating little tiny snacks. Just trying to fill the void throughout the day and that’s not working.
Solid advice! Im on a glp-1. Why am i here? It doesn't eliminate food noise but between that and your advice, this is going to help tons! I still have an appetite and after a big calorie deficit, i binged the other day 😬
This is such a great video! I used to snack all the time because I didn’t want to “waste” my calories on a big meal. Worst mistake ever! Those little snacks wouldn’t fill me up and often were super calorie dense foods. It took a lot of awareness and work to get to a point where I eat larger meals, a few snacks and am in control! ❤
Jordan, thank you for this helpful video. I struggle with pretty severe food noise and need to work on changing the habits you mention. I was on a gLP-1 for about a year and the food noise was significantly reduced! Unfortunately I had to get off because my insurance stopped covering the medication and the food noise has crept back.
Love this video! So much great and valuable advice! One reason I've always hated and failed at dieting is because of cutting the calories and restricting myself. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and for the last 2 years, I've been on Ozempic. As much as I dislike this medication, especially with the side effects, it's been amazing for my diabetes and aiding in controlling the food noise.
This advice will for sure be helpful for someone but definitely not me. It’s crazy how I’m polar opposite of so many of these statements. Thanks for sharing!
Jordan, your timing could not be more perfect! I need to lose weight for health reasons and the more I think about it the more food noise is so loud!! I plan to use your suggestions about meals and the breathing and mini walks for anxiety. Thanks for the great ideas. ✌️
Jordan, thank you for being so generous in sharing absolute quality content all of the time! I share your videos with friends and family all the time 🙏
This one is so relevant & definitely not talked about enough. Never heard this phrase but it’s definitely something I struggle with. I wrote down all 10 & hoping this will help as a reminder when I hear the noise!! Thank you for doing what you do & helping so many people ❤🙏🏼🥰
I never knew what food noise was until I went on a GLP. It was the hope I was always looking for. Unfortunately it made me sick now I’m back to square one feeling hopeless!
Thank you for this advice! I just turned 60, and I have had food noises since I was 12 years old. So over myself 😛. Will definitely implement these strategies. 👏🏻
Wow, I so needed to hear this video. I have almost constant food noise & am going to implement most of these tips. Thank you for laying it out so simply.
I can’t begin to tell you hope much I appreciate you talking about #2. A lot of these strategies I’ve started incorporating and have noticed a positive change in my mindset and eating habits. Thanks for all the information and support you provide.
I may be an outlier but intermittent fasting actually curbs my appetite and sugar cravings. My eating window is from 5am-1pm ish and I don’t eat dinner.
I want to thank you for this video I never knew what to actually call my food addiction but food noice works. You are awesome and I have learned so much from you thanks 😊!
I think I do everything he said to not do. I’ve lost 95lbs since last July. Watching food videos keeps me from wanting food. And eating once a day is my thing. lol
I used to do very similar things when I had a restrictive eating disorder. I more or less watched food videos 24/7.....l ended up isolating myself from everyone & everything.
Love the video.as a person with, long term bulimia I will watch this again to helpme. PS...I use metformin. It's not glp1, but I think it helps me obsess less...
Yep like if you need to change careers, getting any certificate can take 2 more years! And you have to pay for that too. I am going to start journaling bc whenever I make any kind of dietary change, I get more “noise” not less.
Great video, thank you! Can I just comment something not related to fat loss. This zooming in and out every second is making it very hard to watch, would be tons better not zooming it at all. Or just few times. Just a suggestion 😊
I’m 70 years old and my mom has said I was chubby since I was little. I think these tips will help reduce the noise a lot!!!🙏🏼

Yes! Being an Orthodox Jewish person, food is always present as part of the social experience. I hear you.

May I ask for examples of what you eat, pls? 😊

my favorite video you've made. this topic is "under reported"

I love the tips, especially the trick to do a quick walk when the food noise hits. I’m going to try immediately.
I cannot tell you how awesome these tips are. Thank you. 🙏 I love your personality. ❤😊

Always learning with Jordan everything he shares always resonates with me, truly appreciate all the tips advice and knowledge shared.
Thank you so much for this video, I have struggled with thinking about food and food noise as long as I can remember.
I found that berberine helps the noise, and helps to quite its &it's inexpensive and sold over the counter.. win win
Another banger from Jordan! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This advice will for sure be helpful for someone but definitely not me. It’s crazy how I’m polar opposite of so many of these statements. Thanks for sharing!

I may be an outlier but intermittent fasting actually curbs my appetite and sugar cravings. My eating window is from 5am-1pm ish and I don’t eat dinner.
Going to listen to this daily reminder.
The best post so far ❤
Great video. I love the idea of not following food accounts. This has really helped.
I feel like you are talking directly to me! Great tips and I will definitely start working on implementing them a little at a time.
Oh I needed this today! Thank you Jordan!
I want to thank you for this video I never knew what to actually call my food addiction but food noice works. You are awesome and I have learned so much from you thanks 😊!
Quite honestly, the best video in my opinion that you have shared and the video I absolutely needed to see right now. Thank you 🙌🏻
I don’t necessarily have this with food but do with alcohol at the end of the day. I realize it’s more habit since COVID but hard to quiet.
This is great, Jordan! Super helpful tips ❤️
Thanks, some useful suggestions here from your wealth of experience supporting people through this 👌
This was a really helpful video. I am going to give these tips a try. Food takes up a lot of my brain activity

I even go to bed and dream/think of food. I try to switch my thoughts to memorable happy moments sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.
Wonderful topic! Thank you for covering this

Excellent video!

This is really helpful!

Superb video!! Thank you!!
Great info as always!!
Great video, thank you! Can I just comment something not related to fat loss. This zooming in and out every second is making it very hard to watch, would be tons better not zooming it at all. Or just few times. Just a suggestion 😊
Great video, yes send me some emails about not thinking about food so much. I am eating more protein now, but not as much as you salad I should.
Super helpful! Thank you!
What a great video.
